Did you think if maybe frosting the inside of the chiller grills first then 2or3 coats of clear blue followed by 2or3 mist coats of flat white so as to defuse the led's and get rid of the hot spots,? In cinema they use parchment paper or wax paper like for cooking to diffuse lighting you may want to try something like that great video I don't even build anymore but I was impressed by your knowledge and technique even leaving in the part where the light did not go to red when you turned it on shows you have a lot of humility.
This is going to be a fun series to watch. I have a couple questions if you don't mind. As usual this has me wanting to build this kit. I have the original Reliant and it is listed as a 1\650 scale. The Paragraphics kits are for the 1/537 scale kit but I can't find a 1/537 Reliant. Are they actually the same kit? Also where did you find the clear grills?
Hi Dirk - sorry for the delay I have AMT kit number AMT1036/06. That's on the box end with the 1:537. I'm not sure if they are for the same kit - it would seem not if they are truly different scales. Perhaps others might chime in; but my channel does not have a huge distribution. That might be a good question for a big forum - like scalemates.com or others who might be watching this series. I found the clear grills on Ebay back in January from a German provider called "brainstorm creative arts" URL to store: brainstorm_creative_arts they don't seem to list this part anymore. There were not great parts - lots of bubble voids and cleanup. Originally, I tried to get from Don's Light and Magic but he had passed away right around that time - RIP.
