I am happy that the XG (Japonés Group) is not confined to a specific genre. They are xpop combines perfectly because they are universal (rap, sing k-pop, j-pop, r & b, balades etc ...) and in 4 different languages! Their dance skills outweigh those of any female group in JPOP or KPOP. XG is incredibly talented in dancing, singing and acting. These talented Japanese girls exceed the skills of most pop groups today. Congratulations girls, you really deserve to be outdoor, and now the world knows you and will be even more surprised by the future. As for cocona, it was she who suggested cutting her hair, because she had long wanted to have a lot of time (so said her parents who agreed), cocona is highlighted with this futility, her talent is superior to that, not to mention that she is beautiful, thing that few stay. ppl who hate and keep saying they dont write their own lyrics (none of the kpop/jpop groups do), they have a name called the Betaz. simon already said the girls participate in contributing ideas to the lyrics and raplines. Hey I heard you ask for group recommendations in your other recent video and at the time I commented suggestions thinking you weren’t interested in doing girl groups but XG is such a good one. If your open, I don’t know how much of XG’s stuff you’ve already seen in your own, but they have a great and unique discography I would highly recommend checking out on your channel if you haven’t already. I would also highly recommend Aespa, NewJeans, IVE, Billie, Loona(their kinda disbanded now tho), Red Velvet, or Twice too just based on the kind of music you seem to like in most of your videos. There are many more talented groups you would probably also like but that’s just a short list of some of the most popular ones

Just for ur info tho Nigel almost 90% of kpop industry do not write their own lyrics nor produce. (I can’t speak for jpop and xg are Japanese group cuz idk much) but include both boygroups and girl groups it’s not really usual to write lyrics and stuff in a lotta groups. That’s why groups like seventeen, skz, bts, ateez, g-idle, and some other more gets more recognition because of how much they get involved in the creating process of their music. For example skz songs r produced and written by them 98% of the time. But there are also a lotta bigger groups that don’t necessarily involve in their writing lyrics and producing im just saying it’s really not that common in BOTH boygroups & girl group not just girl group lol.
Writing lyrics is not really an important thing in pop.
Pop is usually for performance, music and entertainment although some pop acts write their own lyrics relating their issues with life in general.
Michael Jackson for example had his lyrics written by someone else but when he wanted to be more personal he wrote some for his own songs and for other artists too.
Dr Dre, the biggest Hip Hop producer had ghost writers for his rap carreer and Ice Cube wrote his lyrics when he was a NWA member.
I'm not saying artists who write their own lyrics aren't interesting but I'm just saying those two types of artists are still artists. Some can be very expressive with their lyrics and some with their performance. But they are all entertainers in the end.
