Professor Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for a lengthy explanation and analysis of the Horizontal Tangent Lines and Vertical Tangent Lines in Polar form in Calculus Two. This is a tremendous amount of information for all students/nonstudents to remember, therefore I will rewatch this great video. This is an error free video/lecture on RUclips TV with the Organic Chemistry Tutor.
For the numerator you can let cosx = x So 2cos^2x + cosx - 1 will be 2x^2 + x - 1 = 0. This is easily factored as (2x - 1)(x + 1) =0. Then just replace the x with cosx.
Hey, amazing video super helpful problem. You are carrying me in calc. I have a question. Dosen't (0, pi) not work for both? According to the graph, there is a cusp there, meaning we cannot differentiate it there
When I put the points I get for the Horizontal and Vertical Tangent lines into a graph they are no were close to where the graph is, am I doing something wrong?

You're a life saver... you explain this stuff way better than my professor.
This is hell
he made it so simple but its still hard to remember all that before a test...
NO PAIN NO GAIN
No it is heaven
Doing it WITHOUT this video IS HELL.
Half an hour for 1 problem 😖😭 (but he did an AMAZING job of explaining it)
I literally love this man, thank god for him.
Dude, your videos help me so much man
Can also use x = rcos & y = rsin, -----> x = 2cos(1+cos) & y = 2sin(1+cos), so u dont need to derivative r & plug it in.
You're the best. Thank you very much
Currently watching this in class right before the test lets go
Great Explanation!
Thank God. I finally understand.
For the numerator you can let cosx = x
So 2cos^2x + cosx - 1 will be
2x^2 + x - 1 = 0.
This is easily factored as
(2x - 1)(x + 1) =0.
Then just replace the x with cosx.
That's what he did lmao he just skipped the substitution. Your just adding in an extra step
Very great informative video! Thanks!

Imagine this q come in my exam i’ll spend the all hour to solve it and maybe i’will make a mistake 😂
thank you bro
thankss 🥰
god bless you

Good videos
I thought there wouldn't be a derivative at a cusp and therefore no tangent line? or am I wrong?
Amazing
The horizontal tangent line is touching the graph twice though? How is it a tangent?
thankyou :''
Come to Pakistan bro i need to get you gulab jamans
Why not just divide by sin(theta) at 10:55?
you would lose answers. Never divide by x! (or theta in this case)
could you upload videos related to finding the centroid?
The y-axis is another the vertical tangent. (0,pi) seems legit.
ZAMN!
what is this magic
🍎
Come be my teacher please
i'm so cooked
