      Thanks Joe. Yes, it was good to be able to record it in a non-air show environment.

    It would be an honor, privilege and, needless to say, a great thrill to pilot this historically precious aircraft.

    my local airport had a B-25 there (Babrbie III) and during the summers the would fly really low over our subdivision. Very cool indeed!

    I never realized how this aircraft bristled with cannons. Especially forward facing.

    The B-25 is my favorite warbird, an awesome aircraft.
    I'm working on a large RC version ,Executive Suite,hope to have it ready for Warbirds Over Iowa.
    It will definitely not sound as sweet as this one.
    Excellent video,awesome sound.

    Once in a while there’s a B17 that flies around Wichita. I about break my door down trying to get outside to see it!

    did they move out of KSEE to TEXAS or something??? we used to hear MUCH MUCH more old planes flying over when comeing back from stuff ''out east'' but hadn't really heard MANY old radials and stuff the last few years... sigh...

    watching those big radial engines fire up feels so HUMAN. Other engines are ON or OFF but these need tender assistance to get going. and they sometimes falter, just like us humans getting started. then it kicks in, just like us. I can understand why so many pilots and engineers of these planes felt so close to their aircraft. There is just someting about them that their human designers passed on as characteristics to the users that made them special .

      Yes, it is interesting to watch a pilot starting a warbird, using finesse to get it right. Thanks for watching, and thanks for commenting.

    They certainly are some of the loudest non-jet planes at air shows! Does it have to do with the short exhaust pipes?

    • @airailimages
      @airailimages  Год назад +1

      When B-25s were new, each cylinder had its own short exhaust stack. Most were later modified with a semi-collector ring that gathered the exhausts from some of the cylinders, but some retained the short stacks that give the unique B-25 sound.

    I suppose it's safer than ducking beneath it with the propellers turning but i thought the point of wheel chocks was to hold it in place once the engines have started until you're ready to go

    Gotta love the sound of gasoline (avgas) powered radial engines or power plants.🔋

    Not exactly the comments we were making as those things would run up outside our BOQ window at 5:30 in the morning every day in Lubbock.
