As I dive deeper into all the different fields of software, I appreciate more and more the ridiculous quality of everything I previously took for granted. For example, Nintendo games weren't a huge global hit for no reason. There was a lot of technical talent there. Japanese engineers are also doing a lot of cutting-edge open-source AI work, from what I have seen. But really, in general, I find myself appreciating masters of their craft more and more recently. And I think "mastery of a craft" is quite central to Japanese culture in general. So it seems natural for it to be the same in software.
Hey, kei, can you do a specific video to how to get a job for foreigner in japan in software industry , i am fresh graduate with a bachelors degree in computer science from india and also have good grasp on web dev
I run engineering teams and would love to hire Japanese engineers but probably only younger ones. Most of my teams work for startups and the philosophy has to be "move fast and break things" which is inherently opposite to Japanese style engineering principles. But yes, based on writing detailed, bug free, idiomatic code, I would think Japanese engineers would excel and yes, not knowing English is an enormous disadvantage which is why most of my teams are from countries that are relatively good at English. I wish you great success since Japan is my home and I wish I could employ more Japanese engineers. Incidentally a good 1/3 of my guys are flutter devs which is all we use for mobile.
