Im currently using her, and Im almost to Prinz Rupprecht. On paper, Zieten appears to want to be a brawler, but the armor prevents that. Main Guns also have the worst despirsion and penetration power I have ever seen on a Battleship. I sometimes even switch to HE in hopes of causing a fire to make up for the lost damage. The Secondaries are good, and if you are smart, you can brawl a low teir battleship or a distracted enemy with low health. Sadly, any Teir 9 Battleship will win against you in a 1v1, and things like Atlantico, Bismarck, Tirpitz, and other secondary ships at your teir will farm you. You even have trouble with destroyers as your secondaries aren't good enough to handle them all by themselves. However, your main guns have a large caliber, and if you aim at weakspots, the damage is catastrophic, and I have gotten Citadels by doing that. I honestly think Zieten should have been a premuim ship.
I'm grinding battle honours on Zieten. And unexpectedly(because of complaints around)my Zieten has the best average of all my t8 ships, it is even higher than Odin. Currently I'm at 73k average and I almost finished the cruiser mission, so it means further I should have even better stats because I won't need to risk getting a cruiser killed.
Zieten left me with tears while Prinz Rupperecht allows me to grin from ear to ear. Just completely bipolar experience (it might just be me rushing to get PR during Oktober Feast that I never bothered upgrading Zieten at all).😅
Zieten is not easy to play, but not as bad as I initially thought. She's pretty much completely dependent on close-range engagements, whereas Rupprecht has a little bit of ranged capability (but still very much needs the close range to shine). For me, it's the "deep end" - you'll need to play the battlecruiser style of hit & run, target selection, exit planning etc., otherwise she just doesn't work at all. Good lesson, though, for getting the best out of T9 & 10
I like how WG put that crap as a Tier VIII where they should put L21α as a tier VIII line ship. Btw they did put L21α, but as a crap extreme mackensened ship that just don't work. I think the best "evolution" from Heinrich to tier VIII would be the L21α with its 5×2 380mm guns from Bayern and this would work better than Zieten.
Can’t say I’m a fan of the Zieten… I actually quite like the Heinrich, and Rupprecht is an absolute blast, but the Zieten sits very oddly between the two. I find the Odin much more similar in play styles to the Rupprecht.
Hello, considering the arrangement of the armor in Zietien's case, it would be better if the guns were arranged like in graff spee, although I could be wrong, have a nice day.
Terry, can you pls ask Wargaming if they could come up with like a trading station in the game where players can choose to trade stuff like ships and silver with other players? I have been asking a lot of people and they all want this to happen.
Odd big ship and 6 guns but with no accuracy thats impossible to play as there is very less time when enemies give you chance t8 is really competitive now adays
You're not getting an awful lot done in this ship at range, due to the accuracy (or lack thereof). That sort of forces you into playing the battlecruiser style that's required for the higher tiers, since these ships just can't take the punishment, and need to hit & run. They're like secondary-focused French BBs for me. Yes, T8 is competitive - because a lot of players stay there as a "comfortable" tier, and also, lots of dangerous premiums. I'd almost say the most important thing Zieten teaches is that you can't just trounce on the enemy team every time, but have to accept the rounds where the ship "doesn't work", which is kinda the case also for the higher tiers.
When this ship came out as pre release I had lots of fun in this ship when no one knew what it does.
This is definitely the oddest ship that was ever made.

Tbh Terry, I've had alot of fun in this boat. Fast, manuverable, decent gun, and torps .

Looks like it would capsize if the turrets were all turned to one side.

We literally had this discussion
@@Melchizedek_USN I know dude. I asked a bunch of other people too and they all had the same answer that war gaming should do it
