They DID help kpop become more famous globally. Many people, like me, got into kpop because of them. I dont think theres a kpop girl group that will reach their level of success. BP is all smoke and mirrors and that's why their streams are so high. Billions upon billions of views yet their fans can't be bothered to buy their physical albums. That speaks volumes. When they have negative press there's always excuses and delusional fans standing behind those excuses. That too speaks volumes. Enjoy the streams because the industry knows the truth. Oh and stating that their lack of synchronization while dancing is their signature is ridiculous. They are not true artists who practice and perfect their craft. They are in it for the money and popularity and the fans wearing rose coloured glasses are none the wiser.

What makes blackpink different from other groups? Each individual has their own charms, uniqueness and personality that can make the girls shine even in a group. They also can shine as a solo artists. Their impact as a group and solo is not a joke. They even conquer fashion and beauty industry too.
I'm from Brazil and I can say Blackpink got me into kpop and now I know most of these groups. I can see that both IVE and New Jeans have a great future worldwide, cause their song style fits our style as well, but I'm afraid it won't be as Blackpink and BTS, unless they bring something a little different to the table in their next comebacks, I feel like they still miss the "X" element, something that gives a strong and different identity to them (but they can bring it still, they're young). If they fail to bring this "X" element, I'm afraid the biggest boy group and girl group titles may comeback to a western group that usually debuts from these tv shows (I'm predicting USA will debut one soon, cause they don't really like that their market is being dominated by Blackpink and BTS)

I feel like Korea is kind of "dependent" of visual appearances on their television to really apreciate songs and that's why this comeback Blackpink didn't have the same result as the newest groups locally, cause they didn't really promote there (Blackpink didn't really promote anywhere actually haha), so if you take that into consideration, these numbers are even more impressive, cause their success it's fully dependent on their own appeal, people look after them, they are not being braiwashed by tv apearences or too much promotion to like their songs, they look for them, they like it and they stream it by their own means.

At first I was like: why Is RUclips trying to get me into "behind the scenes" videos until I clicked on one and was mind blown. I instantly fell in love with their music and also found the true meaning of their name (Bts). Then in I started searching for more Kpop songs and ended up on Blackpink....from the first video I ever saw of them, I started stanning lol. Love all of their songs. What bp antis/haters dont understand is that many casual listeners would listen or stream to BP songs out of curiosity & caught unawares, liking the songs. It's not just the fandom, even kids listen casually to them despite the language difference. Bp was doubted / criticized over & over bcoz they're not technically good at singing, redundant song formula, less talented than other current kpop grps, came from big 3 only hence the fame, overhyped, etc. But as music is a universal form of expression & language, many different individuals would lean more into bp songs even if antis call it meaningless. I listen to music for fun, for my mood, vibes. I read & understand the translations of the korean lyrics but i dont stress its meaning. I just chill out. 1st & foremost, kpoppies should understand that BP is just a music product. Bp isn't exoected to reach milestones in yrs like snsd esp they have weak domestic roots. Domestically, other 3rd gen or wven 4th gen may have bigger korean fans than BP, YG is well aware of a korean gg career span so he mightve came up w/ unusual ways of promoting BP. Yg trained, developed & created Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé & Lisa as kpop personas of Kim jisoo, Jennie ruby jane kim, Roseanne park & Lalisa Manoban. The pinks are equally talented indiciduals but was molded to be in kpop image to be promoted globally. Ofc yg wd do anything to promote their current biggest moneymaker, albeit disappointing & frustating ways. But methinks all this negative publicity is all part of a formula, of a plan, building the BLACKPINK brand reputation. So the hate bp has all added to the brand & hype. It's just that the pinks themselves would be the one to suffer the hate/negativity. Back to the data analysis, BP's global influence has grown much indeed. But i'd say their BBY/whistle was the most organic success tbey had in tapping the western music charts. They had no western partner nor western promotions yet they entered Hot Bubbling Under just as rookies. I qst heard of nobody by wondergirls yet i didnt know they were a kpop act since yt & internet aren't that widespread at that time. The 1st kpop grp i was aware of is Suju thru sorry, sorry, then snsd's gee. I went out of kpop for awhile, casually listened to new kpop releases. Then came bp. I'm not a blink but i got into kpop thru BP's KTL. And since then i watched & listen to other kpop grps but i keep coming back to bp. My music taste just aligned w/ BP's. So you see, it's the musical preference. And IMO, yg managed to capture what most non kpop listeners would prefer in music.
I love IVE, but they have to work hard to not be just another AOA or EXID. (These are some of my fav groups before, so I am not dissing). These groups have one popular members (Seolhyun, Hani, Woonyoung). What IVE has right now is almost the same like AOA and EXID. They produce bops for around 2 years. Then, got replaced by another new groups. These new groups have to stay relevant and beat their previous achievement to be called great and have chance to be like BLACKPINK. Blackpink has been killing it since debut. Literally since day 1. (Dont give me that Big 3 advantage bullshit because if just being a Big 3 group is enough, then Itzy and Aespa would have PAK for their debut too) Each of BP comeback is more successful than their previous one. Each member has star quality and can shine on their own and they dont focus on just one popular member. They can have limited appearance without people losing interest, instead it gives them more power which is extremely rare for kpop groups who put out new songs or album at least twice a year. Rare exposure like BP would have killed them in an instant. Blackpink debuted among Twice and Red Velvet. They have been able to beat them. After IOI, so many groups debuted with members from this show and people were like dragging and shading Blackpink, saying these groups like WekiMeki, Gugudan etc would beat Blackpink. And all of them ended up disbanded less than 2 years in. So, fans of these new groups should sit down and just support your group. Make them at least successful for at least 6 years, then maybe talk?
Kpop fans who have been on this industry for so long and have watched how groups like those you mentioned would have noticed this pattern too. But I feel like a lot of kpop fans aren't even into kpop since the time of these groups (AOA or EXID) it's more like they joined this industry between the 3rd and 4th generation of kpop. That's why they keep on barking to other groups rather than focusing on their faves.

That is why most girl groups that debuted recently have a portion of that "Blackpink" blueprint. I mean, 2nd gen was dominated by SNSD that is why most 3rd gen girl groups have a portion of their blueprint (TWICE, IOI, WJSN, LOVELYS, OH MY GIRL, GUGUDAN, LABOUM, etc.). So now that BP dominated the 3rd gen, the 4th gen follows their mark to a certain extent.

Blackpink got me into K-pop. I’m a black/Polynesian girl in the south (Tennessee, USA). I got friends into them as well. Their sound is just very appealing and still different from what we hear in the US typically. They are swaggy on ten thousand, and I love their energy in performances.
As an international fan, this is a good insight in the Korean market. Other than YT, Spotify is our next big streaming platform. Due to my work, I always check the Spotify charts and Blackpink whenever they have comeback, they really affect our market share for the week or for months.

The thing about blackpink is that they have always been steady on the charts, something that can’t be said about other girl groups. Blackpink lack of promotions in Korea didn’t stop them for being in the top 3 on domestic charts.

When considering social media like RUclips and Instagram, it's impossible to reach to blackpink.....most of them kpop idol other than bts, lower 20milions Followers after 6 to 7 years,due to this I think after BP and bts retired, kpop will go down and become normal as always May be like gen 2.

Aside from BIGBANG, SNSD, 2NE1, I still haven't heard of any current or former memeber of a kpop grp who had successful solo careers. What the 3 grps have in common are huge scandals AT THE PEAK of their respective kpop career. So i won't be surprised if something big issue would arise to destroy BP. But curently, the pinks are winning both as a group & individually. Usually a GG could only last as far as their hype goes. There is the peak, the climax of their career, then goes downhill. I meant downhill not entirely in a negative way since kpop career is usually not that long unless they built strong domestic foundation. In case of bp, they don't need to push harder domestically since theyve gone global & success aleady, just in time for them to embrace & walk their individual paths. It would be delusional to push them as kpop grp forever since the time & generation is evolving. But BP is undoubtedly 1 of the biggest, most successful, not justa 3rd gen grp, but ultimately kpop gg, kpop grp, kpop act oin kpop history, domestically & globally. Their album & concert ticket sales would be outnumbered by the sunbaes & hoobaes but the global recognition & achievements they have is legendary. Being a trainee for 4-6yrs, unsure if you'll debut, then debuting w/ both hype & hate. They were called talentless, overhyoed for debuting under big 3, hated for the big 3 priviliege, despised for achieving faster global recognition & success w/ their less discography .Yet they overcome all, shown the antis how to become global icons of music & fashion. They seem unfazed by the hate but deep down they might be suffering. Yet they continue to face the cruel, jealous antis, making the antis look more miserable & pathetic for hating 4 wonderful humans who are winning in life. I really hope BP to still go on as long & as far as their youth can take them but i hope more for their individual victories in life, that they won't feel the need to prove themselves to the haters anymore & just be contented w/ their love ones.

I'm from Brazil and I can say Blackpink got me into kpop and now I know most of these groups. I can see that both IVE and New Jeans have a great future worldwide, cause their song style fits our style as well, but I'm afraid it won't be as Blackpink and BTS, unless they bring something a little different to the table in their next comebacks, I feel like they still miss the "X" element, something that gives a strong and different identity to them (but they can bring it still, they're young). If they fail to bring this "X" element, I'm afraid the biggest boy group and girl group titles may comeback to a western group that usually debuts from these tv shows (I'm predicting USA will debut one soon, cause they don't really like that their market is being dominated by Blackpink and BTS)

I feel like Korea is kind of "dependent" of visual appearances on their television to really apreciate songs and that's why this comeback Blackpink didn't have the same result as the newest groups locally, cause they didn't really promote there (Blackpink didn't really promote anywhere actually haha), so if you take that into consideration, these numbers are even more impressive, cause their success it's fully dependent on their own appeal, people look after them, they are not being braiwashed by tv apearences or too much promotion to like their songs, they look for them, they like it and they stream it by their own means.

At first I was like: why Is RUclips trying to get me into "behind the scenes" videos until I clicked on one and was mind blown. It's might not be possible to catch up with BP since BP is not just kpop, also the biggest pop girlgroup in the world right now. Not just as a group, they are also successful in individually.BUT the best things is that these young generations have the best management teams in their companies unlike YG. YG management is just the worst among KPOP Entertainment companies undoubtedly. I hope these young generations ggs will catch up with BP success in the future for they have both talents n decent management team although some came from the small companies. What bp antis/haters dont understand is that many casual listeners would listen or stream to BP songs out of curiosity & caught unawares, liking the songs. It's not just the fandom, even kids listen casually to them despite the language difference. Bp was doubted / criticized over & over bcoz they're not technically good at singing, redundant song formula, less talented than other current kpop grps, came from big 3 only hence the fame, overhyped, etc. But as music is a universal form of expression & language, many different individuals would lean more into bp songs even if antis call it meaningless. I listen to music for fun, for my mood, vibes. I read & understand the translations of the korean lyrics but i dont stress its meaning. I just chill out. 1st & foremost, kpoppies should understand that BP is just a music product. Bp isn't exoected to reach milestones in yrs like snsd esp they have weak domestic roots. Domestically, other 3rd gen or wven 4th gen may have bigger korean fans than BP, YG is well aware of a korean gg career span so he mightve came up w/ unusual ways of promoting BP. Yg trained, developed & created Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé & Lisa as kpop personas of Kim jisoo, Jennie ruby jane kim, Roseanne park & Lalisa Manoban. The pinks are equally talented indiciduals but was molded to be in kpop image to be promoted globally. Ofc yg wd do anything to promote their current biggest moneymaker, albeit disappointing & frustating ways. But methinks all this negative publicity is all part of a formula, of a plan, building the BLACKPINK brand reputation. So the hate bp has all added to the brand & hype. It's just that the pinks themselves would be the one to suffer the hate/negativity. Back to the data analysis, BP's global influence has grown much indeed. But i'd say their BBY/whistle was the most organic success tbey had in tapping the western music charts. They had no western partner nor western promotions yet they entered Hot Bubbling Under just as rookies. I qst heard of nobody by wondergirls yet i didnt know they were a kpop act since yt & internet aren't that widespread at that time. The 1st kpop grp i was aware of is Suju thru sorry, sorry, then snsd's gee. I went out of kpop for awhile, casually listened to new kpop releases. Then came bp. I'm not a blink but i got into kpop thru BP's KTL. And since then i watched & listen to other kpop grps but i keep coming back to bp. My music taste just aligned w/ BP's. So you see, it's the musical preference. And IMO, yg managed to capture what most non kpop listeners would prefer in music.

I love IVE, but they have to work hard to not be just another AOA or EXID. (These are some of my fav groups before, so I am not dissing). These groups have one popular members (Seolhyun, Hani, Woonyoung). What IVE has right now is almost the same like AOA and EXID. They produce bops for around 2 years. Then, got replaced by another new groups. These new groups have to stay relevant and beat their previous achievement to be called great and have chance to be like BLACKPINK. Blackpink has been killing it since debut. Literally since day 1. (Dont give me that Big 3 advantage bullshit because if just being a Big 3 group is enough, then Itzy and Aespa would have PAK for their debut too) Each of BP comeback is more successful than their previous one. Each member has star quality and can shine on their own and they dont focus on just one popular member. They can have limited appearance without people losing interest, instead it gives them more power which is extremely rare for kpop groups who put out new songs or album at least twice a year. Rare exposure like BP would have killed them in an instant.
Blackpink debuted among Twice and Red Velvet. They have been able to beat them.
After IOI, so many groups debuted with members from this show and people were like dragging and shading Blackpink, saying these groups like WekiMeki, Gugudan etc would beat Blackpink. And all of them ended up disbanded less than 2 years in.
So, fans of these new groups should sit down and just support your group. Make them at least successful for at least 6 years, then maybe talk?
Kpop fans who have been on this industry for so long and have watched how groups like those you mentioned would have noticed this pattern too. But I feel like a lot of kpop fans aren't even into kpop since the time of these groups (AOA or EXID) it's more like they joined this industry between the 3rd and 4th generation of kpop. That's why they keep on barking to other groups rather than focusing on their faves.

That is why most girl groups that debuted recently have a portion of that "Blackpink" blueprint.
I mean, 2nd gen was dominated by SNSD that is why most 3rd gen girl groups have a portion of their blueprint (TWICE, IOI, WJSN, LOVELYS, OH MY GIRL, GUGUDAN, LABOUM, etc.). So now that BP dominated the 3rd gen, the 4th gen follows their mark to a certain extent.

Yes there will be new kpop groups that will debut and shine more in a few years. But don't deny the fact that Blackpink are one of the reason that helps kpop to grow and be known in other countries. Their popularity makes easier to other kpop artists to enter western countries like US. That's why don't ever underestimate Blackpink's influence because they WILL ALWAYS BE RELEVANT.

Blackpink got me into K-pop. I’m a black/Polynesian girl in the south (Tennessee, USA). I got friends into them as well. Their sound is just very appealing and still different from what we hear in the US typically. They are swaggy on ten thousand, and I love their energy in performances.
As an international fan, this is a good insight in the Korean market. Other than YT, Spotify is our next big streaming platform. Due to my work, I always check the Spotify charts and Blackpink whenever they have comeback, they really affect our market share for the week or for months.

It should be noted that BP songs has certain quality that of a western song. So it's not surprising that they will easily attract western market not to mention how YG always support them during comebacks. Blinks ongoing fan war with BTS also affects how they react and continue to make sure bp is on top. The continues fan war bring hype and success to the group.
Aside from BIGBANG, SNSD, 2NE1, I still haven't heard of any current or former memeber of a kpop grp who had successful solo careers. What the 3 grps have in common are huge scandals AT THE PEAK of their respective kpop career. So i won't be surprised if something big issue would arise to destroy BP. But curently, the pinks are winning both as a group & individually. Usually a GG could only last as far as their hype goes. There is the peak, the climax of their career, then goes downhill. I meant downhill not entirely in a negative way since kpop career is usually not that long unless they built strong domestic foundation. In case of bp, they don't need to push harder domestically since theyve gone global & success aleady, just in time for them to embrace & walk their individual paths. It would be delusional to push them as kpop grp forever since the time & generation is evolving. But BP is undoubtedly 1 of the biggest, most successful, not justa 3rd gen grp, but ultimately kpop gg, kpop grp, kpop act oin kpop history, domestically & globally. Their album & concert ticket sales would be outnumbered by the sunbaes & hoobaes but the global recognition & achievements they have is legendary. Being a trainee for 4-6yrs, unsure if you'll debut, then debuting w/ both hype & hate. They were called talentless, overhyoed for debuting under big 3, hated for the big 3 priviliege, despised for achieving faster global recognition & success w/ their less discography .Yet they overcome all, shown the antis how to become global icons of music & fashion. They seem unfazed by the hate but deep down they might be suffering. Yet they continue to face the cruel, jealous antis, making the antis look more miserable & pathetic for hating 4 wonderful humans who are winning in life. I really hope BP to still go on as long & as far as their youth can take them but i hope more for their individual victories in life, that they won't feel the need to prove themselves to the haters anymore & just be contented w/ their love ones.
