First demo where the guy wasn't using awful distortion with this guitar. Thank you. This assuaged a lot of concerns.
Thanks glad the demo helped you out 🎸👌
exactly
I wonder if this man is a fan of Nirvana?
Probably
nah he’s probably a big fan of franz list, bach, beethoven, and fred durst
@@LouisVDon nailed it 😂👌
@@LouisVDon Liszt Ferenc*
What makes you of that mate? Nothing about him screams Nirvana
you just convinced me to buy this as my first electric guitar. great demo!!
Took delivery of my CV Jag and I had some issues with buzz at the bridge. It came with 9-42 strings. I wrapped the posts with electrical tape like you recommended and changed the strings to Ernie Ball Heavy Bottom Skinny Top 10-52. The guitar was completely transformed and is a pleasure to play. Thanks for your video. Cheers!
Ah thats awesome nice strings too, glad the video helped you out Rock on brother 🤘
you could also help a bit by adding a shim, the stewmac 1° shim, they're around 10 bucks, they help a lot with the playability
It sounds wicked, your soloing in this video definitely had an Oasis vibe. Rock on brother.
It does sound great, thanks bro 😎👌
I cant stop looking at this beautiful guitar.
Yeah bro it's stunning 🎸👌🤪
These look really nice for the price. The sunburst finish on this one looks fantastic, in the promo photos it looks dull. I'd probably also put a more red-ish pickguard on it so it is more vintage-accurate.
Your channel is so underrated, you deserve more subs
I hope you meant underrated? 😂😂 Thanks dude 🎸👌
I think the Jaguar is the coolest looking guitar. People put me off it by saying its jangly sounding tho.
The coolest looking guitar around, it's about what you think it sounds like nobody else 👌🎸
That guitar is beautiful! The block inlay is an awesome addition which looks amazing on Jags. ❤️
It's is a beautiful guitar for such a great price 🎸💪
I've never owned a jaguar but after watching your video I think I should look into it. All the pickup settings sound good and that makes it very versatile. Nice riff and playing.
Thank you.
Yes you definitely need to try a jaguar they have a very unique sound
Great playing!!!!
Thank you 🎸🤘
I just ordered this exact guitar. It looks and sounds excellent. Thanks for the demo.
Ooh nice your going to have a blast playing it, such a cool guitar, glad you liked the demo 🤘🎸👌
Thanks for explaining the switches ! Whenever I watch videos about jags they never explain it. so glad that top control can be used as a kill switch
Yeah it bugs me and a lot of people get it wrong. The kill switch is good fun 👌🎸
@@theguitarmanifesto it seems much more simple when you explain it. Now I can play my 2 favourite bands, Nirvana and Rage against the machine lol
Yeah totally get done string scratching going down 🎸👌
Very cool guitar. Very curious about those narrow tall frets. Look forward to the mods. Great video as always.
She is a beaut, to be honest they were more noticeable on the Mustang for some reason
Having played a couple of these now - from the same shop, same colour, even same pattern on the wood, so presumably same batch from the same factory - something I’ve noticed is they feel wildly different to each other. Some of them feel like cheapo junk, some of them feel like a high-end Fender. My advice to anyone thinking of getting one is not to buy them online but, because the QC doesn’t seem to be too good, play a few of them in person and then buy the one that feels best.
Thanks for the video. Just ordered one in Seafoam Green from Sweetwater, here in the states. Cheers!
Ooh nice colour glad the video helped
I built a Kurt Cobain Jaguar out of this Jaguar. So I ripped everything out and milled out the pickups. Then replaced the bridge, installed the humbuckers. Replaced the circuit with a toggle switch and replaced the whole tuning system.
Now it sounds like the original and I saved about $500.
I mean you have to have all that to afford to rip out on something else, the knowhow too, or it’s not really saving for most people
Great demo! Looking into buying one of these.
Thank you, they're fine guitars 🎸🤘
Great video, really helpful. And great playing
Glad you enjoyed it!
just picked up one of these in green on the strength of this demo - top stuff.
Ah nice they're cool guitars
For some reason, I am really enjoying your playing even more in this video . 😊
Thanks buddy it's an old riff the solo was improvised just before I recorded the video
I really like the sound and tone of this, sounds a lot nicer than the new CV Mustang, it’s a shame about the tall narrow frets
Yeah I'm definitely digging this one a lot more sounds killer
Always loved Humbuckers but the single coil tone is fantastic! Better roll back my sliders on my Jaguar classic HH and thrash it a bit, nice video man!
See people try single coils and think they sound too harsh but never actually really try them live in a band or a recording. They really cut through in the mix.
Yeah bro go for it, thanks dude
Sounds great and looks cool as hell . Something about your playing during the demo reminded me of Steve Turner from Mudhoney 👍
Totally agree it's a fine guitar 🎸👌 ah awesome I'll take that
Wasn’t expecting the playing to be that good
Glad you liked it 🤘🎸
It's very handy that I can modify your own guitars this is another string to the to the bow I'll check out for more videos and see how you do we get on upgrading your jaguar possible I would imagine to fit coil taps too you could use your volume in tone push and pull. Replace the potentiometers for the push and pull type and that will give you access for coil taps Will give you even more sound shaping God bless
Man I want one. Definitely an upgrade in my opinion. Too bad I'm broke, ha! Already bought a new guitar this year
Diet Guitar it's a fine guitar for sure well recommend, mate if you put your mind to it you can save up the money 👌🎸 you need this in your life
great demo! I am convinced. I'll be purchasing the surf green version soon! I have the Classic Vibe Jag bass and i actually prefer it over my Fender Jag Player Series bass. The classic vibe line seems to be killing it!! Great riffage by the way. the lead was a shedder! cheers from Michigan!
Ah awesome they really are great guitars glad the video helped make your decision.
Thank you very much 💪🎸
I also received mine this week. Very nice fine guitar. Highly recommended.
Awesome bro, they are darn fine guitars 🎸👌
@@theguitarmanifesto Only had a buzzing sound from the top nut . Bit updated and sounds perfect.
A quick setup iron out a few tweaks and they're good to go
Great review man. You're helping me a lot with my research on this new Jag. By the time I get my blacky in a month or so I'll know everything about it. Pro and cons. Kinda bummed about the plastic parts on the tuners, but so many better upgrades like the bridge and bone nut! Thanks for all your advise. 👍
No worries buddy hope it helped, the tuners are easy to replace.
It's a fine guitar the pickups sound awesome. No worries buddy expect to see more of this one 🎸👌
Hey there mate. The black Jag should be available soon here in the States. What tuners would you suggest? Of course I want tuners that will fit in easy with no drilling. Thanks for your help! 👍🎸
Awesome, get some Kluson Vintage tuners they'll be a straight swap over
Great sound demo. Thanks
Thank you 🤘🎸
Getting one used tomorrow, hoping the previous owner did some work on it to save me some time (and 20 bucks lol) and that he doesn't sells it because he's infortunately unable to work on it.
But hey, an almost new guitar is always fun to have for a low price!
Ah awesome very cool guitar, well would be a good learning experience fixing it up yourself.
Thanks. Very helpful. I'm getting one. ☺
They're awesome guitars 🎸👌
Here's a more recent video I made on the Squier CV Jaguar
ruclips.net/video/OlrH9IBdmyM/видео.html
Great looking guitar man. I'm looking for to seeing you mod this 1. I personally think the sunburst on this looks more accurate to Cobains actual Jaguar, compared to the signature & the VM Jaguar. The red is much brighter looking, to me anyway. I wish I made my Cobain Jaguar out of 1 of these instead of the VM Jaguar.
She's a beaut bro I'm digging the shit out of it, yeah it's a proper looking clownburst as they're often referred to.
The neck along is more Cobain 👌
Late to the party here. That's a damn fine piece, especially for the money. And thanks for another fine demo.
Yeah I agree a stunning guitar for the money, thank you I'm glad you enjoyed the demo 👌🎸
Nosey question: are you always buying/selling guitars or do you have a warehouse/Bond-villain underground lair full of them?
Buy and sell to keep the channel rolling
Torn between this and a Butterscotch CV Tele for my 50th, the fact I already own an affinity Tele is making me think this is the way to go.
Jaguar for me
Just ordered one, and I have a feeling that this week is gonna drag until it arrives
Well worth the wait
Would love to have that guitar if it had a humbucker for the bridge pickup and had 1 single coil for the neck pickup
Makes for a good modding project 🤘
Nice video. I used to own a 1967 Sunburst Jaguar, sorry I sold it about 20 years ago.

Sounds great. Currently torn between this and CV mustang. God daaaaamn!
Tough choice for sure
@@theguitarmanifesto I'm leaning more toward the Mustang at the moment, but will probably just go with whatever I grab first.
Rob, you are the man! I've been hoping you would be the one to review these first (your video tipped me over on the J Mascis Jazzmaster and it's all I've used since!) I think I gotta have this one now! Though those Narrow, Tall Frets do worry (Big fan of the jumbos.) Annoying but not a guitar killer though right? Awesome review dude! Keep up the great work!
Thanks bro glad you're digging the video, ah awesome glad I helped you decided on the Jazzmaster.
The frets ain't my deal I prefer the jumbo frets too.
It's not a deal breaker but shame they never used some flatter frets
@@theguitarmanifesto Absolutely, thanks for the rad reviews. I had a thought the other day. Already owning the Mascis Jazzy, would you say go for the CV lineup or possibly dip in and get the Red/Gold Deluxe Jazzy from around the same time as the Mascis? Just a thought! Granted I've heard they're almost similar so it might be better just to jump in on the jag. Thanks again dude!
@@sweatervestviking pointless getting the Deluxe Jazzmaster it's basically the J Mascis in a different colour, take a look at the Jag personally I'd go for the Vintage Modified over the classic vibe, although you will need to upgrade the bridge with either model. I love reviewing guitars 🤘🎸
@@theguitarmanifesto Thanks boss! Thought so, I'll take a look at the VM (and watch the vid on the comparison again closely). Ya do it well sir, thanks again!
Here's a review on the VM Jag
ruclips.net/video/HUEQp06HEQo/видео.html
Was just thinking about putting some humbuckers in mine. For sure would love to see that series
That would be insanely stupid. Those single coils are there for a reason.
Humbuckers it is then 💪🎸👌😂
Lothar Roberts since when can one what do what one what’s with their property without someone’s irrelevant opinion?
He's a waste of space his opinion means nothing to me, Ben Jones you have the same name as my son 👌
Forget Cobain, Rowland S. Howard was my inspiration for getting a jag in the first place in the 80's,still love em,great guitars
I'm digging these 70's CV versions - finally I can afford a RSH style jag with the block inlay! Too bad they don't come in Olympic White
Nothing a few cans of spray paint couldn't fix 👌🎸
Love Cobain, such weird comparison
Great review, I bought the same guitar! Can you tell me if I change to 10 or 11 gauge, is there a way to set up the trem, so that it won't go out of tune? Cheers.
Thank you, I have made many setup videos on jaguars and jazzmasters, personally I like 10s on a jaguar.
Hmm, through Jazzmasters and Telecasters I think I might be a Jaguarman...sounds just like I want me to sound! And those block inlays, that's it!🙂
The neck on this Jag looks so darn good bro
Great demo and playing mate 👍🏻
Thanks bro 🎸👌
As a huge Nirvana/Kurt fan, beginner guitarist on a budget, I’m heavily considering this
Do it: mine is better than all my actual Fender jaguars
@@BlindingSun_ next guitar 👍
@@Piastowicc dooo itt.
@@Piastowicc when you get one make sure to shim the neck. The bit of sandpaper they put in the pocket usually isn’t enough
@@BlindingSun_ alright thansk
I built a fretless bass with a pau ferro fingerboard, and I’d much prefer that over Indian laurel. Pau ferro can buff up to a mirror shine like ebony or some rosewoods can, especially with a little bit of Howard’s Feed and Wax. I’m not sure Indian Laurel can.
I am definitely going to buy this jag, it seems really cool, plus I have a thing for Nirvana too 😎❤️
Oh yeah go for it
Can you do a review on a surf green one
Getting one in a few weeks
Enjoy 🎸🤘
Beautiful guitar & awesome playing! Might get one of those later this year..
Greets from México! ✌️🤘
Thank you 🇲🇽
Mate it's a fine looking guitar plays and sounds awesome
Could you do a video comparison for this and the vintage modified?
I really love the sound of the distortion on the lead when it came in,, which configuration is that in the switches, and what equipment are you playing through?
also, how is the sustain on the guitar?
I kinda explain the switching in the video, I use a boss me 70 and Garageband
Sounds beautiful! Love the block inlays. What is the neck thickness at the 1st and 12th fret?
I no longer have it now sorry it ain't too chunky though 👌🎸
I’ve been waiting for this video 😁
Thanks this helped alot
No worries glad it helped 👌🎸
I couldn't resist. I bought one. What do you all think? I like it but I see the flaws. It sounds very good for the value. The look is somewhat artificial though understandable given the price.
Awesome guitar for the money, definitely worth getting thicker gauge strings over the stock 9s 🤘🎸
@@theguitarmanifesto Thanks for the tip! Have you heard about any mods on the guitar?
Personally I would stop the bridge floating I've made a few setup videos on Jaguars and jazzmasters showing how to do this, really helps with tuning stability
@@theguitarmanifesto What gage might you recommend?
@@Yowazuptz I go with 10s myself I know a lot of people use 11s
Very nice! But will it situate me great if i wanna play some kind of grunge-like songs? I afraid of S/S scheme, but you showed me that it could sound very good. Thanks for review!

Hey Rob, great video. Do you still have that sunburst vm jag around for comparing them?
I haven't I'm afraid buddy 👌
I’m trying to find this guitar in surf green but Fender has stopped production and I can’t find it anywhere. Even in the used market. Any tips in finding one?
Just got to keep looking they show up every now and then
Nice video. Do you think this new Classic vibe 70s are better than the old vintage ones? Thanks
They are both great guitars the CV Jaguar has a better bridge, bone nut and I like the binding and block inlays. The VM to me is not far off in terms of the pickups and I like the medium jumbo frets more on the VM.
@@theguitarmanifesto Thanks.
Would you prefer this, CV Jazzmaster or J Mascis Jazzmaster? I don’t know what to buy...
I much prefer the neck and pickups on the J Mascis
Nice play Rob I like that rhythm circuit you played first sounds nice but the bridge pup is sounds awesome Great colors In the Burst luv it.Tommorro
Thanks bro the rhythm circuit has a fuller sound.
The bridge rips through like a mofo pure jangly goodness 🎸🥊
There should be more reviews about this guitar. Im looking for a versatile guitar, especially clean tone wise
You could always make your own
@@theguitarmanifesto im on a 450 dollar budget. Enlighten me
Head to a guitar store and get your hands on some
With good setting.. Does stay tuned before two, three songs?.. I play shoegaze.. -My bloody Valentine- i´m using a metal guitar with floyd..too much whammy bar for this style.. Opinions Please¡ Sorry my Argentinian english. Saludo desde Argentina.
Not good for heavy whammy use, they hold tune otherwise
I really enjoyed the song and sound. Do you have any music for listening to? Original music and are you in a band?
Will you be reviewing the CV Jazzmaster?
Maybe later down the line
What guitar would you say is better for nirvana and grunge kind of songs this or the vintage modified jaguar ?
Either or will do although would be best sticking a humbucker in the bridge
@@theguitarmanifesto okay thanks man
I know the jaguar has a shorter scale than the jazzmaster. But does this mean the spaces between the frets are smaller or its the arm is just more "in" the body? I like the sound and look of the jaguar better but I'm afraid my big fingers will have trouble in the high frets if the space is too thin
The bodies are the same size, the frets are closer together, I have large hands it does get a bit tight further up the fingerboard. Don't let this put you off they're good fun, try one out at a guitar store if you get a chance 🎸👌
Are you going to try the whole new classic vibe series?
Bit out my price range buying them all I'm afraid dude
@@theguitarmanifesto based on the content you upload, I thought you own an instrument store or something similar. But the question is ; are you going to try some new classic vibe stratocaster?
Maybe later down the line I'll try some more out
Update us on the humbuckers mod!
Yeah got s few plans in mind
@@theguitarmanifesto Dimarzios for the Cobain sound?
Ive been looking at a surf green vintage modified jaguar, would you say they play the same as classic vibe? Or do they have a noticeable difference?
The CV have a few more tweaks bone nut, better bridge. The big difference being the frets are tall narrow on the CV medium Jumbo on the VM which I prefer.
You don't like wiggle sticks. Awesome review! Demo the wiggle sticks, though.
For what I was playing it wasn't needed, I will do a video with it soon
Do you think is it possible to change the frets?if yes, wich you model you suggest? Medium jumbo? Is it possible in yiur opinion to improve the action? Thks for yr videos very interesting
If you how the tools and know-how than yes Med jumbo or Jumbo would be good, shim the neck increase the break angle. I'm glad you like the video thanks
I’ll chk with a friend more experienced, what do you think about tuning, nut, machine heads? It’s seems to be always out on G,B
Machine heads and but is fine, make sure you stop the bridge floating with my electrical tape trick, and more importantly than anything fully stretch your strings out
2 volume pot, humbuckers a 3 way switch and ready to rock! 😄
And a head fuck of a wiring job 🤪👌😂
@@theguitarmanifesto Hahahaha ready to suffer? 😂
😂😂 not looking forward to it
How's the neck profile on the Squier Classic Vibe 70s? Is it a thin "modern C" or is it more "chunky"? Also, I'm more of a vintage fret guy. Are the narrow tall frets on the Classic Vibe 70s Jaguar considerable taller than vintage frets?
It has a nice check vintage frets feel like they should
I'M SO READY TO CHANNEL MY INNER FRUSCIANTE
Heck yeah 🔥🌶️🎸🤘
Stop yelling..
Hi, thanks for the video.
I've found this guitar for less than 350 Euros here in Italy and, considering the sounds it seems to have (according to your video) I'd say it's certainly good.
Just a question: have you ever tested the Fender American one? If yes, in your opinion, what are the main differences? (apart from the price... :-))
Buongiorno Mirco,
That's a good price for an awesome guitar.
I've played a lot of American Fenders including the early 60s models, this CV model is definitely up there in every way.
Where in Italia are you?
Rob
@@theguitarmanifesto Hi there Rob, thanks for the kind answer. I'm from the northern side of Italy, in the so said "Po valley" (Pianura Padana), near the cities of Bologna, Modena, Ferrara.
Thanks again,
Mirco
Ooh nice part of the world my wife is from Trento need to go there next year 👌🇮🇹
A presto!
Awesome video as always! Although one is meant to be more "modern", how would you compare this to a Player Series Jag? I'm still learning and can only handle basic Ramones riffs 😆. For someone still developing and learning, what would you recommend for longevity, CV or Player? Thanks for your great content on the channel! Super helpful!
The CV is more the like the setup on a original 60s Fender Jag, the player series losses the 60s switching.
The classic Vibe is on a par with the Mexican fenders
Looks tempting. It is rather a 1966 Jaguar, isn't it?
Basically yes they slapped a 70s headstock on and called it 70s model
I have a question, do you think that this Jaguar sunburst colour is more similar to the Kurt one or the VM one? I’d like to create my own Kurt’ Jag because the one produced by Fender it’s too dark. As you know, his Jag was more yellow as the 60’s sunburst colour. 🤔
Do you prefer the classic vibe over the vintage modified?
I miss the frets and tuners from a VM, the pickups, bone nut and bridge I prefer on the CV take from that what you will. Hard to say the rest is on par
Greatest demo!!!
Awesome tones!!!
Trouble of bridge OK?
Congrats from Brasil !!!

Hey, know they're quite different guitars, but how does this compare to the Squier Deluxe Jazzmaster in terms of build quality and things? Sat on the fence between one of these or the Classic Vibe JM and the Deluxe ...
For me the Squier Deluxe Jazzmaster is far the better guitar, I love the neck and jumbo frets, great pickups it's basically the J Mascis Jazzmaster
@@theguitarmanifesto Cheers for that! The prices here aren't too different so will go for the Deluxe. Love your channel!
Awesome it's my favourite guitar, thanks dude glad you like the channel

For sure 🎸👌
hey can you help me out? does the string come out of the bridge if you do a big bend or no?
It can do if left stock.
Put thicker strings on and give the neck a shim will fix that issue
Nice video Rob! I had a cobain one for a while, really liked the weight of that (it was really heavy) - is this similar in weight to the cobain jaguar do you think?
No this is definitely lighter than a KC Jag I've had a few of them
Thanks

@@theguitarmanifesto cool, thanks for the info, good to know for my back! Is the neck similar to the kc jag? I remember it was quite chunky. Keep up the great vids 🤘
Been a while since so played a KC Jag from memory the CV Jag neck is not as thick
What a waste putting humbuckers on a guitar uniquely made for those particular single coils. Fuckin' dumb idea.
Not your guitar not your problem
It sounds brighter than the fender duo Sonics? Is it?
Hopefully those cyclones will be out by the summer
Probably about the same both awesome guitars, yeah I've heard summer/early autumn
Hey Manifesto, great reviews of great guitars! Have you ever played a Super Sonic?
I am also interessted in which pedals you use. Could you please sent me a setup list? Rock on!

He was back soon after, I made
A video on my pedals recently
Nice video man how much did u buy it
What don't you like about the new tall and narrow frets? How do they differ from medium jumbos?
Being narrow and tall is not my deal I like flatter chunkier frets where you're fingers glide smoother
@@theguitarmanifesto Same for me. I don't see what the tall frets add to the table and every time I try such a neck I ask myself "why oh why!". I just have to fight them with my left hand. The problem is that there's apparently no budget Jaguars with jumbo frets.
Only the older Vintage Modified Jaguar has medium jumbo frets
Great video
is there enough space inside the body to install humbuckers? or do you have to cut something out of the body?
No it has 2 X single coil routings so will need cutting to fit humbuckers
