Honestly the Banu Haqim are one of the most underrated clans in the game IMO. There’s just, so much you can do with them? Idk I just think they’re rad.
Hard disagree, they're easily the second worst clan in the game. First being the Toreador, of course. Between featuring the Second Inquisition and the Society of Leopold, a clan made up of religious assassins, who take it upon themselves to protect mortals from the cruelty of vampire society just comes across as being redundant. You could honestly remove the Assamites from the setting completely, and it would not have any impact on the setting. If I could alter the setting in any way, I would remove the Assamites completely, then take their weakness of vitae addiction and give it to the Tremere, since that sounds like a far more logical weakness for their clan to have, given its history and origin.
@@Nyrufa How you gonna remove the Banu Haqim when they've become the militant arm of the Camarilla. who you gonna have as ur bruisers? Ventrue? Toreadors? After the Brujah and Gangrel left to join the Anarchs the Camarilla lost their combat powerhouses, which is what the Banu Haqim now represent.
@@kuropotato8097 OR, better solution... ignore the events of V5 completely and keep the Brujah around. Heck, if they're really insistent on replacing Brujah as the bruiser material, they could have brought in the Giovanni. You know, the clan that has a reputation for being mobsters?
Late to the party but this clan was always played by edgelords and power players back in the day. They were rarely played correctly. And usually liked to just “kill on sight” as opposed to actually roleplay them. It made them look very one dimensional to a lot of other players. 5e helped flesh this out more too. Happy gaming 🫡
Will you be doing a How to play a Hecata video ? That might be hard since the clan has multiple bloodlines that you can play as, but I'd love to see your approach to playing one.
ohh yes please seconding this!! the hecata have always been so hard for me to grasp because of this - maybe it could be broken down by bloodline to make things more digestible (and keep the videos under documentary length).
Nice series my friend, 'how to play' is really a useful guide to new players; look forward to the next one! Really really like the new V5 art aesthetic look
This is timely as I recently started playing Banu Haqim. A Prussian lad of 12 who embraced to be companion to another child bodied judge only for the elders at Alamut require that he aid her and the clan in their work in order to justify the embrace.
Me opening the video: "I swear to God, if this video starts with a 'I am a badass powerful Vampire' monologue segme- ah, dammit!" 4:25 Timecode for everyone else who is not into that stuff.
When I caught up to this word of what happened to them I was incredulous at first, but if you really sit with what the end of their curse and fall of the Tremere it makes perfect sense.
This is a great video! With that said, what do you think of a Banu Haqim joining the Anarchs? I'm making a character who's a member of one and his main reason is that he views the Camarilla as not righteous, using the Traditions as a way to display cruelty and commit more immoral acts.
There’s a novel/game called Night Road in which the most prominent anarch is a Banu Haqim who came to the conclusion that the Camarilla is too focused on maintaining their own power to deal with the inevitable fall of the masquerade as humanity becomes more powerful. If you’re looking for non-typical representation of Banu Haqim, you could check out Night Road for inspiration

@@Nyrufa What you mean the Inbred necromancers? you think the Giovanni would let the Ventrue or the Toreador use them as shock troops?

Love this video series! I'm was thinking of playing a Banu Haqim for my next vampire character.

My favorite clan! Thank you!
I was waiting for this. They are my favorite too

Thank you for this series! Are you going to do videos for Caitiffs & Thin-Bloods? 🤞🏽
I don't need instructions to know how to play one of these guys. You just remember the 3 S's: sneak, stab, succ.

most excellent my friend
Thank You Chris!
Banu Haqim best clan!
So basically, this is Assamites without Quietus
They are the same clan. A renaming/branding in the new edition.
Quietus has been rolled into blood sorcery
