I just checked on Samsung’s site. This phone, no trade in, is $500 with a free set of earbuds. Which sell for $160. But they won’t give you a charger, that’s maybe $25? WTF?
Well... They make phones for everyone... Even users in developing countries and not every country uses the same plug for chargers. So ... Not every country will allow the importation of e-waste, which is why they expect you to use what you have. Samsung, prefers to conveniently package all units for sale anywhere than to package for 1 market only. In the past when Ericsson was a thing they would have five different adapters per unit. All of that is sitting in the wastelands of developing countries wth no means to get rid of them safely for good. 1st Worlders created the problem and now this is how they fix it for themselves.

Sounds like cope to me, Samsung just wants you to have to spend extra money on one of their official chargers. This is all about profit, either they save money by not putting one in the box or they profit from someone buying one of their overpriced chargers.

The Galaxy Z fold 2 was the best unbox experience I ever had and it probably be the last. The phone had everything in the box.
Great detailed review! I have had the A50 for 2 years now and honestly the phone is holding up great no issues with performance. Battery life is amazing for a 2 y.o. phone. A53 is looking like a great deal now.

A couple of years ago this would of been a flagship phone 📱 but today it’s a mid tier phone.
They my fav phones same thing as a flagship, I don't even use the cameras but like ones every 5 months
To me it's a flagship phone cause i can't afford a real flagship phone , although who in their right mind would spend $1000 or more on a phone people these days are out of their mind because one slip and they can kiss their expensive phone goodbye cause it will turn into a paperweight real fast.
@@josephbennett3482 This is one of the main reasons why I brought an iPhone, I bought the iPhone 11 pro max when it came out and I still use it today. My opinion is yes it’s $1000, but it’s $1000 spent well. It takes phone calls, it can take messages and I can surf the Internet and it gets the job done… with multiple years of software updates.
For real, its specs basically match the Note8
I actually bought one because I broke my Note8, I was plenty happy with my Note8 so I figured I didn't need the best high end I just needed a good midranger
This phone is great all around expect using wired headphones with usb c dongle is a headache

And another advantage of this over basically every other mid range android phone is support, Samsung is really killing it with the software support, almost all these mid range phones are obsolete in 2 years whereas this has the same software support as the s22 and will be updated for at least 4 years
Thats good but in this story between a52s and a53 a52s is better cus better chipshet who will handle software updates more smoothly than a53 with more software support

The one thing that concerns me is that the A52S from last year is basically the same phone with slightly older software but with a more powerful processor....Yeah, I know the processor isn't everything, but when there is a nearly identical phone from the same maker that is more powerful at the same launch price, it's very confusing....

That's a fair point (I have the a52s) but also keep in mind the better update promise with the a53. Launched with Android 12 so will get up to android 16 plus a year extra of security updates. Perfect phone for mum and dad in my opinion, also someone who likes to keep phones for as long as possible (like me).
Get the A52s 5G, Exynos chips are inferior.
That's the a52s, not a52. This is the a53 being showcased, not the a53s. You need to compare apples to apples. Sadly we don't have the a52s in the US and probably won't get the a53s either.

Yesterday, I just ordered the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G. I ordered the device through Boost Mobile. Before I ordered the device, I watched this video. Whenever I am interested in a device, I always check and see if Flossy Carter has reviewed it.
How do you personally like it? It seems like overall it's a good choice through boost mobile. The whole lag thing doesn't seem to be as bad as it looks. I don't expect any mid-range to budget phone to be super snappy, but will still do a decent job. I'm planning on getting this through boost mobile as well. $150 seems like a good deal for this phone
I got this phone, a case, screen protector, charger block, and SD card from Metro by T-Mobile when I ported over from Verizon and paid $223.00! (Remember: Prices vary depending on store location and state.)
compared to the a52s 5g and even with my a51 the a53 is a big letdown for me, especially the hiccups produced from the Exynos 1280. same problem with the european s22 Exynos version. Google apps or better said the whole Android OS has very poor optimization for Exynos and MediaTek SoC's. even the Vanilla a52 with Snap 720g runs much better than a53 5g. sad but true. but good review, like always!!

For those of you that don't use always-on display because of battery drain, what I did was set up a Bixby Routine to turn Always On display on when it's charging. So you can have it plugged in or sitting on a wireless charger and have aod running. When I take it off the charger, aod shuts off.

Just bought this one for my wife, Amazon price $350.00. It replaced her LG V40, which we thought was kaput. It turned out to be a TMobile problem, which eventually was fixed.
The wife does like this new A53.

Your usb cord can connect to a lot of cars with usb slot, your monitor, laptop and some surge protectors. And I think Dollar tree has the usb plug for the wall.
I'm in the market for a new phone, and I stumbled upon this review. I have to say this is a real review. Really in-depth and extensive. Where most reviewers gloss over everything in vague terms, you showed real life actives. I had been reading everything about this phone was amazing for the price, outside the lag issue due to the processor but could never find any source on it. But thank you for showing it off! For me that isn't a deal breaker because, like you said, just disable stuff!

How ya still liking the a53? I dropped my s22u down an Icehole bought the 6a cuz best buy was sold out of 53a where I live now it's back in stock and tempted to return the 6a for the a53 5g. Like the 6a but I'ma a Samsung guy lol and don't see any trade in value fory 6a when the 23u releases plus I have a 512 gb card I haven't been able to use since trading in my note 20 u so be badass to use that again
@@wadec6799 It's not a bad phone. You will certainly notice the slowness compared to your S22 Ultra but if you want a device that will get you by and still be running the same One UI you're used to. It's not a bad purchase. Absolute tank of a battery but terrible cameras and will lag. Worth the price imo though.

As soon as I got out to car with it and set up some a my stuff I'm like .. hell yea. 6a was lil smoother but horrible speakers and terrible when on a phone call... so far the only lag I've gotten with the 53 is like right now as I type this lol. Otherwise it's running very good and bought it unlocked but hooked up on my Verizon account. Screen is beautiful on it and already got my buds 2 pro rehooked up along with my other earbuds the soundcore liberty 3 pro the liberty 4 the space 45 the tinbuds 3 and my edifier w240tn and I'll be goshdamned if it ain't running with Audio Codec ldac fory soundcore stuff then opened up developer options and disabled absolute volume..... SCORE!!!! So far I'm seriously digging it. It is so similar to s22u its kinda crazy....plus my actual favorite part so far I got home put in my old 128gb sd card and man I'm watching videos and lookin at photos of when my oldest boy who's only 9 was a baby and then his Lil brother... those were takin off I'm pretty sure my note2 or 4 or my s7 edge then put back in my 512 that i had in note 9 amd note 20u but just getting to see those again was pretty special. That all being said ima just enjoy the hell outta this phone unless samsung offers some crazy deal on s23u as a right now I was seeing what I could get for this 53a trading in on fold 4 just for fun and it ain't on the list they have the 52 and others midrange but not the 53. Or if bestbuy has a vrazy deal i will possibly just retirn this amd pay the 45 re stocking fee lol But for me and stuff I like to do id easily take this over 6a
@@wadec6799 Glad you like it man. It's not a bad phone at all. I'd wait for the Fold 5 hold on to the A53, trade it in later this year you'll probably get a good carrier trade in deal with Verizon.
Great video, Samsung will be providing OTA updates up to and including android 16 so this phone is great value long term.
Interesting why Samsung decided to go with the Exynos. The previous A52 5G seems like a way better choice to go for!

I had got my wife this phone because she's been wanting it here in Egypt... And she's absolutely in love with it. Although it's a fingerprint magnet it is pretty cool looking. Although really light. Compared to my fold3 it feels like a stage model phone that really doesn't have any function.
I have been listening to Mr. Carter for several years now, and as usual, he is on point. I know that he will typically highlight the really high-end stuff, but he will favor the mid-tier technology especially if it functions favorably for the everyday user. What is most refreshing about Mr. Carter is that he will tell you the truth. He has to make his money, no doubt. This isn't just a hobby for him I am sure. You can't help but to sense in his tone that he has to be forthcoming about when something is great, and even when it is not. In the end, he is brutally honest. As for the A53, he is on point. I am an owner of the A52, and I just sent it in for work to be done on it. The A53 is almost no different than the A52. Honestly, I don't really see the stuttering some have made mention of. And Mr. Carter is right when he states that your Google feed is constantly refreshing. That is an excellent point because many people will see it not always go up and down smoothly and they will think that the phone is dragging, when it is the feed and not the phone. I dare say that the screen on the A53 appears to be brighter when set to just 50%, and when compared to the A52 at the same percentage. Overall, it is a very good phone. Mr. Carter has been influential in several technology acquisitions I have made. He is hilarious, sharp, cares about his viewers, and literally will tell you if something is worth purchasing and he will do it while not being beholden to any manufacturer. There are A LOT of reviewers on youtube. Mr. Carter, in my personal opinion, is the GO TO when it comes to keeping it real as they say. Thank you Mr. Carter.

It looks like a very nice phone. However, there is a difference between exynos processors and Qualcomm Snapdragons. Frankly, they bleed power inefficiently and have never been as efficient in that category as the Snapdragon processors.
You are definitely the ultimate phone power user. How you blow through the settings and know exactly what to look for "that is actually important" is impressive. I learned about stuff today on my S10e.

This could be a good one for my Mum. She won't buy a new phone because she thinks my old phones are good enough for her. Right now she's using my old OnePlus 5T so WELL old but "it's good enough. I'm not spending $1000 on a phone". She likes my S21 Ultra so this could be a way to get her to use something a little more modern.

Honestly after using an iphone 12 for almost two years man. I miss android and I think this would be the best android phone to pick up for my needs. I do wish more phones would come in the galaxy s10e size. That phone was perfect until it stopped working for me
I agree with floss with the thot protection I feel like they should put in the left side bc there's no buttons on that side or have a Indent it can be a finger scanner bc sometimes the finger print on screen doesn't work

I just bought this for my Dad in the UK I traded in his over 2 year old p30 lite and gave em £250 and can claim free live buds so not bad for him at all.

I have the Galaxy A70 and it's holding up pretty well. But it's been a while and I kinda want 120hz and some other new features. Should I get the A53? Or maybe hold on to the A70 for some months?
id go for an S20 FE if youre willing to spend ab $450. if you wanna good deal, get the A52 S. it is more pwerful than the A53

120Hz screen, headphone jack, charger and case in the box, faster Snapdragon chip, the only downside I can see is that it's gonna get updates until Android 14, but it's kind of a good thing because its a midrange phone and it wont get much slower than the A53 down the line because of it
I got this on July 3 2022 for $350 on Amazon, US version (Not international). it was $450 on July 4 and onwards. Idk if it was $100 cheaper due to 4th of July deals or anything (it didn't mention a "discount" anywhere), but keep a look out for lower prices.

I just received my Samsung a53. I have TCL20 SE it was great and now it lags plus it's Android 11 and it's not going to get OS updates. Thanks for the review and keeping it real Flossy..
Man I'm still using OnePlus 7t since from its launch and every day it feels like a new phone
Offcourse when it got Android 11 update there was some certain issues with the software but they fixed it and from that day this phone is fast as brand new and i can assure it's still fast than this a53 phone
Not gonna lie I copped it as a backup since I have my Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and my Galaxy Buds Live to use but I'm mainly using my OnePlus 8T that performs like it just came out this year. Crazy how fast this phone is for something that came out in 2020 and I just got Android 12. Was considering the 10 Pro but OnePlus really only got a 128gb option and that's let down for me.

@@edgarvargas5454 I wanted the OnePlus 10 Pro and I actually had it reserved early so that I can get (another since I got 2 pairs already) a pair of OnePlus Buds Pro for free but at the time OnePlus didn't announce what was the storage options in the US. Then it was up to pay for it and was disappointed in the 128gb 8gb of RAM option.
The Pro in China has 256gb option but of course just like what Floss says your not getting that 5G if I decided to cop that one instead. My 8T has 12gb of RAM with 256gb of storage, charging is the same minus the wireless charging since it don't have it. The only thing I don't have is a great camera since the 8T's camera is okay at best.

I bought the A52s 5G in September last year, the only issues that I faced are battery drain and occasional screen ghosting but that got fixed in the One UI 4.1 update.
I have the 15W charging brick that was IN THE BOX. Sadly i got the 128/6 model before the 256/8 model came. Still a powerful phone nonetheless. The A52s 5G is the best bang for buck phone.

if you got a Samsung Galaxy A52, A52 5G or A52S 5G , Should you upgrade to Samsung Galaxy A53 5G?. The answer is No. if you upgrade, you losing one important thing.

What's good floss I'm a long time subscriber brah. I had been using an iphone 6s plus, Moto G Pure, Samsung Galaxy A02s, Moto One 5G Ace UW but got tired thos phones. I got the fully you unlocked Samsung Galaxy A53 5G at best buy on sale last Monday October 31st for 350 plus taxes 370 out the door the regular price was 450. Compared to what I was using the Samsung Galaxy A53 is great and I'm using it on Verizon prepaid service I like the 120 hertz refresh rate super amoled screen. I wish it had more storage but 128GB will be fine for now though. Great video floss always like watching your videos brah.

I have the A51 5G, and love it. I was thinking about upgrading to the A52 or A53. Specs looks similar but camera specs are better.
A52s is better choice now if you are interested buy ASAP cus supplies are at the end.
I think you should get the A53 since it'll have four years of android updates and 5yrs of security updates
