Q7 A group of 9 friction piles. 15m in length, carries a load of 1500kN. The ground water table lies at a depth of Im below the ground surface. The piles are having a diameter of 300mm and are spaced at a clear spacing of 900mm, The subsoil investigation reveals the following soil properties as listed below: Soil Type Thickness (m) Unit weight (kN/m) Clay 1 Clay 2 0-10 18 19 10 0.8 Liquid Limit (%) 55 45 10-20 20-30 20 Estimate the settlement of the pile group.

I have one more question please answer them
Group efficency of pile group may be greater or less than 100% ? Is this statement right or wrong
This statement is right. In driven piles where the soil around the piles get densified, efficiency may be more than 100%.
