Yep! Wicked Film, Love Lulu aswell!❤
You know it
Lulu performed this song at the final concert of her last ever tour at the London Palladium last week. It received rapturous applause.
Present
My wife said this was our song in 1986, and she is the love of my life and mother of my children that are now 33& 34. Still love her.
...you're a lucky man... hold on to it, it can be lost all too easily.
This song always makes me emotional. Great movie and casting. Poitier is a legend.
They don't make movies as character driven as To Sir With Love anymore. Now it's all action-heroes, super-heroes (for kids masquerading as adults), and special effects. We are in one of the worst eras of film making of all time. Perhaps the worst. And it's not going away any time soon. And please, NO MORE dinosaur movies.
This still chokes me up. Made me cry as a kid.

This film still has a profound effect on me! Still, today, I always listen to the film’s theme song “To Sir With Love.” Sidney Poitier was brilliant in this movie! Rest in peace Mr. Poitier.
It does for me as well due 2 of my teachers. Yes some teachers have touched their kids.

One of Sidney Poitier many fine performances as a Hollywood movie actor and the music theme is just as GOOD.... To me, Sidney Poitier will ALWAYS be a class act...RIP
A class act and then some.

A class act! I don’t care what race you are the man was a class act a gentleman and good looking . How many Hollywood stars are there that you have not heard some sort of negative rumours about . I don’t recall ever anything bad said about this man while he was alive or after his death . I loved all of his movies .
Sidney Poitier a true legend , so dignified and amazing
His one of the best black actor w/ class that you cannot forget
God wasn't he gorgeous
High caliber human being.

This unforgettable film should be shown in every classroom around the world, so that everyone learns that tolerance, education and respect have no time limit to be taught...
Today is Teachers' Day in Brazil! Congratulations to everyone! 🤩
It should also be shown to world leaders as well. All around the globe.
Totally agree not only a classic but brings to light no matter where you come from you can always succeed.especially when time were so different then.go out and grab your goal.❤xx
Your right this film is a classic and embodies what it takes to put this world right!
I taught world history and had some of the typical troublemaking teenagers who thought they were the center of attention.(Fortunately, they were the minority.) One of my students had seen the movie somehow and he told me that I should show it to the whole class. If they don't remember dates and specific laws and tariffs, I'll live. If they learned the constant themes of nationalism, imperialism, religious fervor, disparities between the wealthy and the poor, themes that have marched us to war since time immemorial, then I am grateful for every moment I spent as a teacher. To all teachers everywhere, thank you. To teachers in Texas and Florida who are having chains bind them from teaching the truth, I stand with you and pray that people come to their senses.

Still one of the greatest tunes to ever grace a film
And RIP to one of the greatest actors to ever grace a film.
Great film and a fantastic, brilliant actor.
Actors have a knack, they could be in ten films, but a great Actor definitely becomes the character.
I cry my eyes out every time I see this beautiful film. I adore Mr Poitier. I also praise anyone who works as a teacher, they don’t get the respect they deserve in the US.
Yeah, they're helping seven year old girls identify as boys. Great work nowadays. And so many brave teachers are speaking out against this false garbage.
same in india all clerical work is being done by teachers, election duties etc we have ni time to prepare our lectures
I cry just listening to the song. This movie was probably the best movie ever made that made a statement. I haven’t seen it in decades but now I’m going to have to find it on my movie apps and watch it again. You would think society would have gotten the message of this movie, but they didn’t. What a shame and missed opportunity for a change we all just dismissed.

This movie just shows us what a great teacher can accomplish, and the influence he or she can have on students and the world. Teachers, great teachers are to revered!
So many so called singers and or actors can take a lesson from Mr. POITIER. He was a class act, love you sir. Rest in Peace.
I worked on a musical he directed in the 80's.. it was released with the title "Fast Forward"... Picture wasn't so good but he was gold
Lulu a so called singer n actor 🤔...really ??

Sidney Poitier just radiates class. He’s right up there with Cary Grant and George Clooney.

@Sifu I suspect he showed a black dominated audience the same.

My mum took me to see this film along with Guess Whose Coming to Dinner? What a powerful, handsome, brave and talented actor Sidney Poitier was. We were both smitten and incredibly moved even though I was only eight at the time. Lulu's beautiful song still moves me to tears especially with the movie clips. I miss the 60's, Sidney Poitier and most of all my mum. God bless you both.❤
This was our high school graduation song....
This song always wells me up with tears. Just ordered the DVD and can't wait to watch it these many years later :)
Those schoolgirl days
Of telling tales and biting nails are gone
But in my mind
I know they will still live on and on
But how do you thank someone
Who has taken you from crayons to perfume?
It isn't easy, but I'll try
If you wanted the sky
I would write across the sky in letters
That would soar a thousand feet high
"To sir, with love"
The time has come
For closing books and long last looks must end
And as I leave
I know that I am leaving my best friend
A friend who taught me right from wrong
And weak from strong
That's a lot to learn
What, what can I give you in return?
If you wanted the moon
I would try to make a start
But I would rather you let me give my heart
"To sir, with love"
Beautiful! Thank you kindly. In many ways that's everybody's song. It's like graduating high school and college, saying goodbye to friends and teachers, knowing some of them you will never see again. The school girl and boy days are gone. What the passage of time does to us all. Lulu's song strikes a cord in the heart, a time past.
Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior of this world. All who believe on His name shall be saved. 🕊❤️🙏🏾

👉one is saved from hell by believing or trusting in THE GOSPEL alone for their salvation,
16 For I am not ashamed of THE GOSPEL of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16 KJV)
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, THE GOSPEL of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, (Ephesians 1:13 KJV)
👉what’s THE GOSPEL? THE GOSPEL is the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ,
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you THE GOSPEL which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS according to the scriptures; 4 And that HE WAS BURIED, and that HE ROSE AGAIN THE THIRD DAY according to the scriptures: (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV)
👉 DONT MESS WITH THE GOSPEL!
“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:8-9 KJV

Written by the great Don Black, beautifully sung by the wonderful Lulu and 'Sir' played by the irreplaceable Sir Sidney Poitier. A heavenly combination leaving our hearts filled with emotion and with gratitude for their artistry. - Not forgetting the scriptwriter and award winning director, James Clavell and E.R. Braithwaite's autobiographical novel which inspired them all.

The Best movie ever made that shows our troubled youth and one teacher who dared to changed their minds.
The student's needed a strong teacher who could guide them through school and out into the real world.
In the end the student's gave much admiration for Sir's tough love.
