I have a rockshox 35 gold 150 mm, new, 80 psi and rebound -7 click. When i compress the fork will not extend complete, but rest 5-10 mm compressed, just with the bike weight. Is this normal?
Without having any prior mechanic knowledge or experience, I can say whole-heartedly "yes" for forks before Charger 3 this is normal. But Charger 3 have different technology that eliminates this squeege pressure sounds as the oils move around quite differently 😊😊👍
Firstly you absolutely want to soak the foam rings completely and not to squeeze out any oil from them since they're job is to lubricate but how are they going to lubricate if there's not enough oil in them? Secondly you should always replace the crush washers from the bottom bolts since they are a one time use item, otherwise the fork will likely leak oil, in a worst case scenario on to the front brake rotor and the brake won't do it's job.
What if there is no crush washer installed? I did not find any on my Pike. Is it possible that it is not used in every fork? It did not leak any oil. If you think about that the damper shaft is so stuck to the lower leg that it has to be removed with a mallet, it makes sense that it cannot leak there.
This is just great. Love the simple yet interesting styles of these videos!
Mitch Ropelato is the man....

Once completing the service, is it normal for a little bit of a squeegee/squishy air sound to come out of the top of the lower fork legs initially??

@@RockShoxSuspension Could you please confirm if every rock shox for should be used with crush washers or certain models are sold without it?
@@martonk1555 True and if it didn’t come with them new, and in the service manuals you don’t see them, then it doesn’t need them.
@@Drago0900 It was not me who serviced it first. And as far as I remember, the manual writes the need of new crush washers.
U know that this vid is from rockshox themselfes? If anyone should know how to service a fork its them!
