During this performance she had pneumonia, and was told by a dr that day to not speak, but with weak lungs and a bad throat she pushed ahead so as not to disappoint her fans. No other singer would have taken the chance with their voice like she did.

Back Story ........
As others already noted, the gentleman was Shane Filan of the Irish boy band "Westlife", who also had "You Raise Me Up"
as a hit in Great Britain. This episode on Immortal Song 2 is Shane Filan Special so all the invited singers performed
his songs with their own interpretation. In the pre-performance interview segment, Sohyang mentioned that
this rendition represents her personal story, presumably about her faith. If her Arirang Alone gives you a trip about
Korean history, Sohyang's masterful "You Raise Me Up" delivered a spiritual journey.
Also Note .....This
SoHyang has always struggled with her health during her lifetime with those many illnesses..
uterine cancer, hepatitis, chronic pneumonia, etc.. The night she sung You Raise Me Up
She just got out of Hospital and was advised Not to sing...So she did that....lol
It's really a miracle this one of the most skilled vocalist of all time could be
in such poor condition. And definitely she is much more than great technician
and has Perfect Control of Her Gift...and Her singing is so special.
