The unicorn represent some power that is beyond the nature. The song is about the Jewish nation that very miracly survived many times persecutions, extermination attempts, humiliations and exile for thousands of years. It talks to the world: don't you want to change the repeatative history? Because anyways I'm gonna stay strong and survive, so ''don't do it'' don't suppress us..

unicorn is just a magical animal :) but i do think the metaphor was somewhat about Israelis drive for innovation & growth
there are ~25 unicorn companies operating in tel aviv, so that could be related too.
