    Milk or whey works better than soap. you can use up to 50% milk or whey with water, or whatever you have. The protien is also a nutrient for the plants. I use it on tomatoes, squash, sunflowers, basically everything.

    That was Fels Naptha soap I believe. You have to shave it with knife or potato peeler, then boil it, to break it down. I wouldn't add other ingredients, til the soap mixture cooled down.

      The rest of the world uses liters.🇦🇺🇧🇪🇧🇴🇨🇦🇨🇭🇨🇮🇨🇳🇬🇧🇬🇳🇯🇵🇱🇺 etc. I think we're outnumbered, LOL, probably best not to fight it.
      I'm in the process of learning myself. A Liter is approximately a quart, which is 4 cups. I think we'd better get use to meters and centimeters too. I'm finding those measurements on everything I purchase now, and they don't bother with inches anymore. A meter is 3 feet (which is a "yard," if you sew). I'm still working on understanding centimeters, lol, but I consult my ruler frequently. Best of luck. 👍

    • @pollyjazz
      @pollyjazz 2 года назад +4

      Just a little correction: a meter is 100cm, a yard ( Wich is 3 feet) is only 90cm. As 1 inch is almost 2.5cm that is a difference of about 4 inches.
      An easy solution is to print out s chart with the most common measurements in both systems and paste them somewhere handy to where you might use them. For example i have a chart with the temperature in Fahrenheit / Celsius on the inside of the cupboard door next to my oven. No guessing for me when I'm baking cakes or cookies or whatever. In my personal cook book i have a printout with the conversions of cups and liters, grams and ml and oz. I also have a very handy stick-on ruler tape on my sewing table that has both centimeters and inches.
      Best to be familiar with both systems. 😊

      vibrate your Tomato flowers when they are open, before they start to dry up. do it when it's dry outside. Take a battery operated toothbrush, turn it on & gently touch each flower with the back of it , not the brush side. The reason is that the male & female parts that pollinate are both in 1 flower , so you will be pollinating each flower. do this regularly as each new set of flowers appear. Hope this helps

      FDA labeling require that anything that has detergent additives be called something other than soap. It can be labeled deodorant soap, bath bar, detergent soap, etc. Liquid castile soap is just soap made with olive oil and potassium hydroxide rather than sodium hydroxide (usually cut with sugar or alcohol to make it transparent).
