I am just starting to use PETG. I have Bambu Labs PETG basic. I had to turn the flow down to 0.93 or 0.94 or else I would get bulging corners. The default profiles print waaaaay faster that the filament/hotend can handle. I had to turn the speed down to around 100mm/s otherwise the filament couldn't keep up and there would be gaps and missing features. Definitely not an out of the box, push-button-receive-parts experience. Fortanely I have been fiddling with this stuff since the first Makerbot Replicator so I am used to things not working as advertised. Still I would have expected Bambu Labs to have things dialed in for their own filament at least.

That's interesting. I didn't have any issues with the stock generic PETG profile. I actually increased the volumetric speed from 12 to 15 and it was fine. I have to admit, last time I contacted support, it was slow to respond. But that was a few months ago so maybe it has improved..

did you have to apply glue stick to the build surface?

Not with the PETG. I also make these is ASA and glue is a must for that.

Are you using the default PETG profile? If not, what changes did you make to get such a clean print with no stringing?

It was the generic PETG profile for .4 nozzle with .2 layer in the AMS with $12 a roll Sunlu filament off of ebay. This piece uses 6 walls and 25% infill. I now print this with PLA support interface because of the surface the motor mounts to is much better. I did use a dryer at 55c for 24 hours before printing as I try to always do.

I print PLA , Do you have to change any settings to print PETG? If so can you explain it please 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙌🏼

Simply select the filament you are using in the slicer and it does all the work for you. I Can't believe how easy this printer is to use once it's set up. I've only had a couple failed prints and those were adhesion on 1st layer. Probably my fault for not cleaning the plate often enough. Clean up the bed, start over and the next print was fine.

@@cheizaguirre5494 I use eBay and I get Sunlu 10 packs because you get 4 free which is about $11 a roll. And eBay had a $20 coupon on my last order so it was only $9. Maybe Amazon has the same deal?

@@cheizaguirre5494 Make sure you choose the Slik PLA filament setting as the speeds are slower along with other differences. I don't change anything. If it isn't broke, don't fix it.
