The hobbyBoss Jackal is a Jackal 2, and is exactly that. It followed the Jackal 1 and then the 2A followed. So what you get in the kit is 100% correct. The marker lights on the side you mentioned were not on this version and were added later along with other updates.
The Tankograd book British Special No 9019 Jackal Coyote, explains the Different versions and has many good reference Photos. I think HobbyBoss use some of the photos for kit, as one photo shows a Jackal with an empty winch no cable or hook.

Actually no the first iteration of the jackal was monasity then jackal 1 then jackal 2 and coyote then a retrofit of jackal 1 to 1a was implemented. The lights on the side were and are on jackal 2s from first release next to the door hold open catch. On both sides the coyote has an extra set near the back set of wheels for its length, the jackal 1 never had the side lights. What's in the box is an early jackal 2 early because the front rops bar was changed to a more curved bar as the main visual difference from the early to later jackal 2s and same with coyote.

Also regarding the winch it does not use cable it uses dynema rope, the reason it uses this was for safety and the weight of the vehicle, dynema does not store energy and designed to drop if it snaps unlike steel wire rope that stores energy and can cut you in half if it snaps under tension, the reason the picture you mention hasn't got a rope attached will be down to waiting for a new dynema rope to be fitted from the old one being damaged, to old, or the colour fading from blue to white which is a little hint the rope is about out of its use.

The book has 8 photos of the Jackal 2, in Afghanistan 2011 and none have the side lights I am sure they came later for use on UK and European roads.
They came in on the Coyote first as it was along, Chassis and then on later Jackals.

@@Ruzz21 nope I can qurantee you the jackal 2s had the sidelights from first delivery of them same with coyote, I trained the whole jackal family for 11 years ruzz from pretty much when they were introduced ill upload some photos of the original jackals 2s in next video for you.
