Ultra high quality stuffs have usually very few followers. FTG is also gives a very deeply spiritual vibes. I am not sure how a normie would understand the lyricses. They'd be like "random good sounding lyrics". For FTG u need to have a very powerful mind and also a great wisdom, but if u have, u have unstopping mindblow and extasy.
Repeating my statement from last time, I don't particularly like the 'seriousness' of these new songs. The songs from Zirconium Meconium and Crab in Honey had this bright, psychedelic playfulness, maybe because of having a combination of acoustic and synthesized sounds, but it feels like this has left that in favor of a rough and synthetic sound, with almost no acoustics at all except for the bass (and maybe the drums but it's hard to tell). While music doesn't need acoustic elements at all to sound good, it helps give feeling/emotion to the song. From an interval standpoint, it seems like these songs also use a lot more harmonics in the vocals, which is okay, but using harmonics and only harmonics for vocals doesn't sound particularly interesting (unless you use some weird ones like the seventh and eleventh harmonics), and kind of dulls the impact. Additionally, while I'm not well-versed at all in conventional music theory, it feels like the scales/chords used in these new songs are much darker on the modal spectrum, and this also contributes to the tone of these songs. Altogether, this new music has changed a lot from the early albums, and I probably won't be following the music of Fever The Ghost (though i still might come back every so often to see where the band goes) anymore for the most part, as much as I want to.
I see where you're coming from and I do agree that they have changed in the time that they took off, but it's been five years. Maybe try to give them a bit of time to get back into their old asthetic?
I love this song...up until 3:01. The vocals after that sound... I don't know... out of place? Off key? I can't put my finger on it. It just rubs me the wrong way. Rest of the song is fantastic sorry to be critical
