So happy that CrypticMisery made (and updated) this. It's a great introductory resource. Yes, that was a chibi Su in the middle of the Karen Girl's when you asked. : ) Thanks for looking at this!
Thank you so much for uploading this whole, lovely reaction and your thoughts! If I wasn’t already a fan I probably would be now because your enthusiasm is so infectious. Great call on the Sonisphere performance of Ijime Dame Zettai. I think you would also really enjoy the three songs about dealing with grief and loss that were released after Mikio’s death, known as “the trilogy of light.” The first, Starlight, is just a great song context aside (live is better than MV if you can find a live performance). And there was an amazingly emotional performance of the second song, Shine, at the Legend M concert. There’s a video of that performance at Babymetal Reactor Resource. Thank you for the reactions!
The Babymetal Reactor Resource channel has the video (one with logo to react to and in the description one without logo) with Moa singing Headbanger. So great! I love your reaction btw (I'm 20 mins in at the moment)!
@@hedoban_nord There is something they're not telling us about Yui's departure. Can't put my finger on it, but I speculate either a health issue or pregnancy
Hey Gombers great reaction, thanks! The only downside was I had to watch it in small chunks while I was at work, now I'm back home and forget whatever it was I was going to say! I'm sure others have expressed it better anyway. I hope it was the IDZ performance you found for Sonisphere. A rare moment in which I have pride for my country. Thanks again, take care!
Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。CrypticMisery created great work and, as far as I know, you are the first person who uploaded a reaction video to this great work, especially in a cute way.
Thanks for doing this, I hadn't fully seen the updated guide yet. myself :-) Suzuka had already been on stage for almost 10 years before Babymetal got started when she was 12, she probably had the most training and experience of any of the girls in SG when it got started. 9:42 yes, it's common. I suggest Ijime,Dame, Zettai at Sonisphe and.Gimme Choco at Colbert. My speculation is Yui will go back to acting she was a child actress. 50:58 their might be a reason for it, Kobametal is a fan of 'Lucha libre' Mexican wrestling which also incorporates masks.
With regards to Gimme Chocolate, a lot of people will see that first, get turned off by Yui/Moa voices and assume that all Babymetal is like that so they never look at anything else. It's a shame.
Excellent reaction, so now you know as much as most of us :-) You have already been pointed towards the Babymetal Reactor Resource channel for Moa taking over lead vocals for 'Headbanger' (or 'Moabanger' as it is known). 'Gimme Chocolate' is great fun live and there can be no denying it is the song and video that really got them noticed internationally. That being so it is also their video with the most views and it figures it is often the first BABYMETAL video a lot of people see. As the first thing people see and hear from them it does contain quite a big WTF factor for people. For many it makes them curious to see more, for many it makes them think BABYMETAL are a gimmick and they never get any further, which is a real shame. This is why you got comments saying it was a good thing you started with something else. There is a good chance you would have loved it, but there is an equally good chance you would have stopped at that one song and not gone on to discover how much more there is to BABYMETAL. My own opinion (certainly not shared by everybody) is that although it has served to get a lot of people curious enough to hear more, other songs (or perhaps more accurately other videos since live recordings of 'Gimme Chocolate' are arguably less off-putting) serve as a better introduction to get even more people to listen to more and that those people who were turned off by 'Gimme Chocolate' when it was the first thing they heard would have actually appreciated it far better after a few different songs. 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' live at Sonisphere 2014 was the last song of their set (they played 5 songs) and shows it only takes them about 30 minutes to get what was initially a largely puzzled and potentially hostile crowd wanting more.
Really great reaction, and I'm glad you finally got the technical issues sorted. It's so great that all the SG stuff was filmed, which gives us a really good, more personal, view of the girls in the early days. A stark contrast to the little info we get nowadays. The video of Su's graduation is both heartwarming due to her poise while making her speech, and heartbreaking when you see how emotional Moa is at the thought of not having Su around. Have tissues handy if you watch that one. Gimme Chocolate is kind of a meme song nowadays, and can really turn off people if they think it's typical of what the band does. The official video has the studio audio over a live performance and really doesn't do it justice. The actual live sound is much better, imo. The Sonisphere show is historic in that it really showcased to the world what Babymetal is all about, and put the naysayers who thought they were some gimmick band straight. There were rumors about how they would be received. Things like them being booed or having things thrown at them, but none of that happened. In fact they kicked all the ass at that show, and the crowd of 60,000+ were chanting for more once they walked off stage. The Tokyo Dome crowd was absolutely massive, especially considering there was no opening acts, just Babymetal. During the two nights they played (just about) every song from their first two albums, but never repeated a song on either night. Every member of the crowd was also given a neck brace that would be lit up remotely at certain parts of the concert to go along with the specific song being performed. There is a moment during the song The One where Su-metal looks out into the crowd and sees the sea of lights and has a look of awe on her face that is just amazing. There is actually an upper level to that stage where the girls are like 40 feet above the main stage and performed some songs so the fans on the upper levels of the stadium get a good view. On the BMRR channel I do have the Moa singing Headbanger video, referred to as Moabanger, as well as a couple other solo performances she's done. There is also a live performance of BMC there, as well as some videos from the Tokyo Dome shows, including the performance of The One I mentioned above.
Yesssss you’re seriously the best for keeping these up for us. I can’t wait to get into some of these and check them out. Especially those Tokyo dome performances! They looked and sounded incredible from the guide alone
She is an artist that combines Urban Rap, Island Dancehall, being a straight legit BADASS BOSS and more other genres and languages than I can describe, here.
I could physically see you becoming a Moa fangirl as the video progressed. Gimmie Chocolate is a weird one, but there are some decent versions - their appearance on Stephen Colbert's Late Show is definitely my favourite.
Great reaction, you made that hour fly by! Looking forward to BABYMETAL DEATH & Ijime, Dame, Zettai from Sonisphere, UK 2014 (hopefully). Arigatou! 🦊🤘 #notacult
2:45 - Many people assume that SG is just a school they went too that was like an art school or something, but no, it is simply a J-Pop group themes around school life. 4:04 - Yes, SG continued for a while, with all sorts of different members. BABYMETAL is one of the few sub-groups that was never re-cast, likely because the group was formed with Su as the centerpiece 6:22 - Su was absolutely born to be a performer. She said all she ever wanted to do since she was little was be a singer, and that she used to get in trouble as a child because she'd sing loudly around the house too much lol 15:13 - Yes, it indeed is a remix of Headbanger that they did live twice, at "Legend D" and "Legend 1997". There is also a similar "Megitsune" remix that they never did live and a lot of fans probably don't know it even exists, I never hear anyone mention it lol 19:12 - That is why Moa is my fav too, join us :) 20:48 - "Moabanger" as we call it is available on the Babymetal Reactor Resource channel. Yui has done it as well, but there isn't any good footage of it unfortunately. 24:08 - It is funny that you mention "Megitsune" as a difficult song to sing, because Su-Metal herself has said that despite that being one of their first songs, she still finds it the most difficult to perform and that is the song she always does her vocal tests to before shows. You can videos fans have recorded of her doing her audio checks before shows on RUclips. 29:20 - It is indeed a lofi BABYMEAL song in the back that the creator, TxMxC, said I could use for these videos! A link to a playlist of all of them is in the description of my video. 31:32 - You should do "Tales of the Destinies" and "The One" from the Tokyo Dome shows together, as they are meant to be played together. Both songs from that show are on the Reactor Resource channel. 34:20 - Idc what anyone says, "Gimme Chocolate" is a jam and I'll hear nothing else. People hate on it because it is the only song a lot of people know by them any something as out-there as BABYMETAL is going to get a lot of hate, which is now associated with "Gimme Chocolate" 45:19 - There are several interviews they did going into more detail about how hard the Dark Side tour in 2018 was for them. Su and Moa speak about how bad a place they were in at the time. 47:10 - Good luck finding it, I think it is pretty rare, but I have never actually looked for myself. 49:30 - So, this is entirely speculation, but it makes the most sense imo and I'll explain why. Many fans think Yuimetal suffered some kind of back injury. If you watch her during their fox festival shows, she is notably not performing to her usual standard, not doing the dances as well (and she is the best dancer), and in some pictures you can see what looks like a back brace that she is wearing, finally, her face looked a bit puffy during these shows, which is a common side effect of some medicines prescribed for back pain. So, if this is true and she does have some kind of severe back injury, that would explain why she hasn't performed or anything in 3.5 years. Again, nobody really knows, this is an eduacted guess at best. 56:54 - Do it, "Kingslayer" is a great song and I hope they get to do it live together some day. 58:20 - They do stick out like sore thumbs, don't they? Everyone is dressed all fancy and they're in full BABYMETAL mode lol Anyways, thanks for watching and if you have any additional questions, feel free to ask, I probably know the answer lol
It's not an art school but I would consider it a bit more than a J-Pop group because it was a training environment for "Amuse kids" as much as it was a J-Pop group. It went a bit beyond that. Not a school, but it was intended and did serve the purpose of training the girls for success... and that did not necessarily mean entertainment success as not all "training" involved entertainment.
I think Yui's back problems only explain why she realized she could never come back to touring with Babymetal. Her long time away from the screen/stage is probably because she is focusing on her education. Just like Ayami was away from the stage for a couple of years. (and we know Moa is also still in school)
@@Kmudaify Agree, and even before SG, SuMetal was part of ASH wich is actually a school, and most of the girls from SG came from child school models and were part of Ciao Girl Collection for many years, working for the agency wich made many commercials for big companies. So in retrospective they did learned from a idol school system and also they were part of a school themed TV show, so althou technicaly they're not part of an actual school they were part of a idol school system for training them.
Diving into Sakura Gakuin is a deep deep hole.... Start with the Nendo tests 2011-2014 for the laughs.... and end with Su's graduation for the tears. if you're looking for the Moa headbanger, it's usually refered to as Moabanger. :)
Great reaction to a long tutorial (could probably been longer...but only the Fox God knows!). There is much to this band and this is a great way to get a feel for what they are. I do hope they continue on, and Kitsune up!
The Baptism XX show is especially sad, because you not only can see on their faces in certain places that they just seem lost, but in several shots they intentionally filmed the hole Yui left on the stage next to Su and Moa. But, through it all, they were consummate professionals, and they pulled off the show without a hitch.
It seems like you are interested in the crowds. I have two recommendations. One is Metallica 'Enter Sandman' live in Moscow in 1991. That is the most insane crowd ever. Nobody is ever going to top that. The other recommendation is Babymetal 'Metrock 2015' concert. That is the best Babymetal crowd or at least the best recording of a Babymetal crowd. It was a daytime concert so you can really see the crowd. Metrock 2015 is on Dailymotion in full, it's only 37 minutes long. Also on the Babymetal reddit there is a spreadsheet that has links to every pro shot Babymetal concert ever. If you want to watch Tokyo Dome or whatever.
That's a great resource. I like to buy the DVDs when I can, but some converts are either unavailable as I'm not in "The One" or just cost a ridiculous amount....come on, $500????
My first intro to Babymetal is Doki Doki Morning and Iine. I was sceptical at first but listen to Babymetal until the release of Metal Resistance album. Been a Babymetal fan since 2012 but Babymetal Metal Resistance album make me admire and love Babymetal more. Babymetal and BTS are two different novelty and have their own fans. To garner support from the Metal genre is different from Pop genre as not many fans are into the Metal genre. Babymetal broke that boundaries and introduce new fans to the Metal genre and community over the last decade. Kitsune Up🦊🦊🦊🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬
Everyone loves Moa and she is my favorite. She has no fear, doesn't hold back on her emotions and likes to fuck with people. She messes with Su on stage quite often.
Hopefully this answers many questions you haven’t thought of yet .🙂 To see Moa on the guitar , check out the APMA awards when they performed with metal God Rob Halford of Judas Priest. There is just so much for you to see before Yui left , so I would just stick with their early years for now. I’m sure my fellow ONE-ITES will point you in the right direction. But maybe a reaction to Awadama Fever, would please me. (Hint hint). 3 things to remember, 1. Yuimetal will devour your soul. 2. Moametal is not “SMOL”. 3. Sumetal is Queen. Enjoy your trip . See Yooooo. 🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊
Update: GombersMetal Desu is so deep into the Foxhole she couldn't extricate herself even if she wanted to. That is all. Now you have many songs to check out so I won't suggest any. Moa is NOT small. Yui is the most adorable creature ever created. Momoko should become part of Babymetal. Heck, they have even crucified her. Give the girl her due! Great reaction. Can't wait for you to get to Sakura Gakuin. Thanks See you!
Su graduated SG in 2013. The options were to split Babymetal off as it's own thing or treat it like the other clubs, which stay with SG with new members. At the time, Babymetal was not "big". This is when they really started. There is nothing wrong with Gimme Chocolate. That video is a snapshot in time that represents only a small part of Babymetal, yet so many people start with that and think it's all Babymetal is. Live, it's a song you want them to play as it becomes a 4 minute celebration. Otherwise, it's a just a song you either love or hate. There is no middle ground. It is the epitome of "cute Babymetal". Some people fall in love with Babymetal because of that song. Others were chased away. The opposite end of that would be Tales of the Destinies, which is an extremely complex musical arrangement with many time changes. It's possibly not a song you will like but you will certainly respect it... and their ability to dance to the impossible (you'll see). As for the departure of Yui, Su and Moa handled it by working their asses off. The fanbase handled it by showing their asses, but I will not get into that. Suffice it to say Su and Moa found themselves in a shitstorm and knew the only way out of it was to perform their way out of it. I followed them through three back to back performances and literally watched them do it... from Dallas, where the effort to "Just Move Forward" started, to Houston where they discovered how to have fun again, to Atlanta where they simply slayed and had an absolute blast on the stage, bringing the audience with them. Out of everything they've ever accomplished, I would consider that tour their single greatest undertaking. "That's sweet" in reference to Oli and BMTH.... They kind of adopted Babymetal in the very early days. They initiated a relationship with them in an effort to make the girls feel more welcome backstage during a metal festival... which is not ordinarily somewhere 15 year old girls should be. BMTH left welcoming gifts for them in their dressing room (BMTH had the room before Babymetal), which made a tremendous impression on the girls. Oli also wore a Babymetal T-Shirt on stage to show support, an act he's repeated on several occasions. This all in a period of time where metal elitists were "haters" claiming Babymetal was ruining metal and did not deserve to be at these festivals. Kouhaku and Kitsunes..... they joined Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor play to X-Japan’s Endless Rain with Yoshiki (think Japanese John Lennon+Elvis) and were sneaking Kitsunes in left and right. :) The video can be found on RUclips.
Well just.....cool. Thanks for the time it took to watch, we all appreciate it. (is that a tarro shake? Bubble tea?) As to "Gimme Chocolate", eh....it's what turned me off to BM when I first heard it. Now I call it my "Princess Bride" moment. At the beginning when the grandpa talks about a kiss, and the kid is like "eewwwww", then at the end of the film it's like "Ah yeah, go ahead, I kinda like it" yeah, that's the song.
Well, it was a 1h video, but i watched it lol Yes you should check some Sakura Gakuin, as you stated it is kind of an "idol training group" that is also an actual idol grup, they have songs and even some fun scripted and unscripted sketches, like the nendo tests (very funny unscripted test about general knownledge). About the video with Moa singing Headbanger, you can find it at the Babymetal Reactor Resorce channel ( ruclips.net/channel/UCI6VCZx5ux46V6ZGSTd403wvideos ) it is the BABYMETAL Moabanger Legend M video. This channel offers a lot of videos from many of their concerts, with a logo over it that is preventing copyright claims, and on the description of each video there is a link to a version without the logo on some other platform, so you can upload your video using his videos with the logo on it to avoid the copyright, while you watch the version without the logo. About the song The One, there are 3 versions of it, one that is half in english and half in japanese, another one that is entrely in english, and another one named "unfinished" with the first half being just Su singing with a piano playing on the background. You probably can find all versions at that channel i mentioned above.
I must apologise to you. For months, I avoided your reactions and I have no real reason why. Maybe it is some latent misogyny! I really enjoyed this reaction and have now subbed. 🤘🦊🤘
If I were to take a guess, I'd say "Stairway to Living Legend" means that when all this anniversary stuff is done, and they've released whatever live material that they're most likely to release, Babymetal may be done with. I mean, how long can the girls keep doing this, and keep it fresh? They've already moved past metal to a more electronic/synthesized sound, and it's apparent that Yui is never coming back, and they're never going to name someone as a permanent member to replace her. Anyway, this is all just my guess.
I personally like Moa better as a dancer, mainly because of the fact that she's much more expressive in her performance, both in her face and her dance moves. She's also my favorite member of the group in general. Her personality is just so huge, and you just can't take your eyes off her when she's on stage.
I agree, Yui is more precise so she scores a 10.0 for technical but Moa is more expressive so she scores a 10.0 for artistic and they both get a 9.9 for the other category
totally agree.... I mean, if you watched the show with Red Hot Chili Pepper where Chad got Su a cake for her Bday or the show with Rob Halford, during the performance Yui looked a bit lost without a set choreography... But Moa on the other hand was going ham and looking more natural and having fun.
I don't recommend the Sonisphere 2014 performance. The full performance that's available, if you look for it, is such poor quality, it's just not worth it. Other than that, they only released two full songs, professionally filmed, from the set. You can enjoy much better performances from their full shows that are available. In fact, perhaps someone on IG has already offered to make full concerts available to you. Perhaps? ;)
As others have probably said, it's not that "Gimme Chocolate" is a bad song - in fact, it's really catchy - it's more the fact that the song is one that caused alot of metal/rock "purists" to dismiss them as a novelty act. Nowadays Babymetal is more respected in the west, and more people know how legit they are - but for a long time the metal community didnt accept them (and many still treat them like a joke or write them off quickly) - so for fans they often want to ensure reactors wont be turned off and write them off as too poppy/gimmicky and will often recommend performances like Road of Resistance live which show how talented they are as performers, how amazingly they command a crowd, and how great the Kami band is. To make a comparison, you said your favorite vocalist was Hayley Williams. "Ain't it Fun" is a great pop song but Paramore has albums full of great, high energy rock/pop punk so if you recommended them to a fan of that music you probably wouldn't recommend "Aint it Fun"
I think it's ridiculous why RIHO is not recognized as a true BM member. Also, the fact that she is not allowed to sing is absurd. She has a great voice. I mean Yui Metal has left, let AMUSE get over it and give RIHO the recognition and respect she deserves, Sorry, just my unbiased opinion. Who else agrees?
Oooh... if you are going to check out some of their ealier works, try this early version of iine ruclips.net/video/XeDgyu9EuwE/видео.html The Music video is good too, but this version is one of the earlier performance of iine when they were still in Sakura Gakuin... and the breakdown is slightly different (someone in the comments section gives the translation) and cuter than the MV. And if you want to checkout BxMxC.... You should see some HQ Fancams of her concert in Brussels.... Its better than the music video. Have fun.
There is some controversy over Moa's height. She is listed as 5'1" or 4'10" depending on the source. One of the mysteries. In person she does not look an inch shorter than Su.
@@crypticmisery7996 True enough, but even when they both wear heels (as they do in promotional pictures) , or sit next to each other, Su has more than a few inches on Moa. And it wouldn't be the first time a singer isn't candid about their height.
@@crypticmisery7996 Don't think you did wrong, not sure there is a definitive number. Like I said, mysteries. I thought you did an excellent job, only caught one mistake
@@Wombatmetal I caught several now after watching through my video again several times. Well, not mistakes, but thinks I wish I had mentioned or worded differently.
I'm a big Beck fan as well but you got to go with the dub version Moon on the water was my favorite song for the longest time If you don't know there's a Live action movie, Koyuki''s singing is muted There is nothing wrong with Gimme Chocolate It's just always given to first time reactors to get a shock reaction If you do do it, react to the Colbert show Everyone always reacts to the 1997 show and the Kami band isn't even playing
I did see the live action!! The muted "orchestra" track that played whenever Koyuki sang drove me nuts, otherwise it was a near perfect live action adaptation.
“Gimme Chocolate” isn’t cringe. But it’s not a the type of song that fully shows what BabyMetal can do. Heavy metal instrumentals but the lyrics are lighthearted. Megitsune would be a great first song to be introduced to a first time listener. Personally, I’d say Head Banger or Catch Me If You Can would be good recommendations. As for BabyMetal surpassing SG. It’s not BM surpassing, but more that all 3 had graduated from Sakura Gakuin. The current Avenger, Momoko, is a graduate of SG.
see the videos of sakura gakuin nendo test is very funny remenber me see this videos nenedo test 2010.2011.and y2012 and the videos of music not bad salute from chile and take care😎
You are now a full on kitsune. The whole Yui departure saga is strange. There's an infinite space for speculation about the exact reasons she left (I go with a combo of health and burn out), but it was definitely very disruptive and must have cost Amuse a lot of money. Yet she continues to have a contract with Amuse, but even that has both benign and dark interpretations. It's been three years since she did anything publicly (other than the Sakura Gakuin print interview) and while Amuse has dropped several of her contemporaries her contract is still alive. There's some fun SG stuff out there. If you like rap stuff and Japanese classical poetry check out Hyakunin Issashu and the associated japanese poems. Yui sings #77 which is about swift streams that are parted, but will eventually reunite....hmmmm? ruclips.net/video/5q-JJD9F8Fg/видео.html chihayafuru.fandom.com/wiki/Ogura_Hyakunin_Isshu#77._Swift_Waters_Parted_by_the_Jagged_Rocks
She is probably still contracted to Amuse because they are most likely still paying her and her part of the deal is to stay off social media and not to do or say anything that could hurt Babymetal, speculation, but that is what makes most sense to me. Even unwell she could easily make a lot of money acting or modeling and the fact she isn't to me is a sign.
@@chrisharris1522 We'll know something, but probably not much, when her contract status changes. Late 2017 was a tough time for everyone associated with Babymetal with Yui leaving and going on hiatus in Oct 2017 and Mikio falling from that observation deck and passing away in early Jan 2018. I can't imagine what that did to everyone. Recently Amuse has 86ed Aiko Yamaide and it was announced that her "talent page" will be coming down on April 30th. If Yui's stays up she will have definitely survived into another fiscal year. I imagine Yui and Aiko will have a lot to talk about one day. We see the energy and talent on the stage, but it must be a tough job.
So you like Paramore.... Ok, Paramore has nothing to do with this song, BUT when I first heard Brand New Day by Babymetal, it reminded me a bit of Ain't It Fun by Paramore.....
Regarding Sonisphere... Imagine you're a "trve" metalhead, & you're hangin' with 50,000+ other metalheads at the Sonisphere Festival, UK in 2014. You & your like-minded elitist metalhead pals are just waiting for the over-hyped, viral driven children's group, BABYMETAL, to take the stage - AND SUCK! Revealing to the world that there's nothing metal about this J-pop kiddie band who have made the serious error of mocking REAL metal. You're just moments away from being vindicated in your preconceived notions at which point you'll launch your water bottle (now filled with urine) at the stage to show what you & gatekeeper metalhead friends think of the travesty known as BABYMETAL. But before you know it, 5 songs & 30 minutes have passed & you've been MESMERIZED, CAPTIVATED, BEDAZZLED, & TOTALLY SMITTEN by these 3 "kawaii" powerhouses & their mega bad-ass band of KAMI's! Moreover, you find yourself leading the metal horde in chants of "WE WANT MORE!! WE WANT MORE!!" This performance at Sonisphere 2014, led by our fearless Queen, Su-metal, was a HUGE moment in BABYMETAL history, as it legitimized BABYMETAL as a quality, worthy, & exciting metal group. Check out "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" (or IDZ), an anti-bullying song, literal translation: "Bullying, No Good, Absolutely". *Note: By festival's end, BABYMETAL merchandise had outsold all other performer's merch. Not bad, considering some of the other artists: METALLICA, IRON MAIDEN, SLAYER, ANTHRAX, etc. Arigatou! 🦊🤘 #notacult
I know this is an unpopular opinion among other hardcore Babymetal fans but I believe the vast majority of people whose first exposure to Babymetal is Gimme Chocolate really love it and want to check out more of them. I think the reason why most fans want reactors to avoid it is because 1) Most Babymetal fans are metal fans at heart and Gimme Chocolate is one of their more poppier songs. 2) It is their most popular song and most fans are probably tired of hearing it by now. 3) They worry some people might think it's gimmicky. But all the evidence I've seen suggests Gimme Chocolate has done way more to help Babymetal gain fans than not.
Gombers you have probably don’t know but me and Moa has the same age 22 years old so 1 month of difference because she born in 4 July 1999 and me I was born in 22 August 1999 so I love more moa because she has the same age to me and she is so beautiful and cute
It wasn't really that Babymetal eclipsed Sakura Gakuin, the girls just outgrew it. Once Su turned 15 she pretty much had to leave...that's just how things worked. Normally they'd be turned loose and given the opportunity to pursue their own desires but Amuse, the company which manages both SG and BM, decided to keep Babymetal going.
I think the choreographer needs a little bit more of praise: please go back and watch the slide, because the voice didn't tell everything, and you might have missed that she is so awesome that In 2016, Mikiko was in charge of the artistic part of the Olympic flag handover ceremony at the 2016 Summer Olympics closing ceremony, and In 2017, Mikiko was appointed into the planning committee of the 2020 Summer Olympics opening and closing ceremonies. Just minor funny things: I'm sad that there are no references about Moa not being smol, the battle between Su and the frog, and the one between Riho and the stairs! But I understand it wasn't possible to put absolutely everything in the guide!
I could really only put so much in the video, and I really only mentioned her stuff with BABYMETAL because it is a BABYMETAL guide. The video is already 43 minutes long lol
@@crypticmisery7996 Yeah there was the info of mikiko on the slide, But she didn't read it! So I was pointing out the she missed it! But mentioning the Olympic stuff I think of gives a better understanding of how awesome Mikiko is! :D

Nice reaction and it's fun to learn about the history of Babymetal and to see where they started from and what they are now. Since you've mentioned that you started out with rock and K-pop, you might like Band-Maid, another all female Japanese hard rock band, writes and plays their own music and considered by many fans to be one of the best rock bands around (including me) in the last 20-30 years. If they want to keep the SG grads on, Amuse will come up with a plan for them. Ayami Muto and Su were on singing parallel paths, but while Su had Babymetal and its template for success, Ayami had to start pretty much from scratch as a solo idol and it didn't work out and she left Amuse under a bit of a cloud. Many of the SG grads are still with Amuse doing a variety of things like acting, modeling and of course singing and dancing.
So happy that CrypticMisery made (and updated) this. It's a great introductory resource.
Yes, that was a chibi Su in the middle of the Karen Girl's when you asked. : )
Thanks for looking at this!
Only Love and respect for them ❤️ BABYMETAL ❤️🦊🤘😭
I'm not sure if this will get blocked, but here is Moa's version: ruclips.net/video/0oVpOj1z_2k/видео.html
Thanks so much for providing the link! Definitely going to check this out eventually 🦊🤘
Thanks for doing this, I hadn't fully seen the updated guide yet. myself :-)
Suzuka had already been on stage for almost 10 years before Babymetal got started when she was 12, she probably had the most training and experience of any of the girls in SG when it got started.
You are definitely ready to review gimme chocolate. Go for it!
Thank you for doing this nicely done reaction to Cryptic's Babymetal Guide! Your work is Extremely appreciated! Cheers!

#10BABYMETALYEARS
Ok, will have to watch this tomorrow!
Interested to see your reaction given Babymetal’s unusual start.
2:45 - Many people assume that SG is just a school they went too that was like an art school or something, but no, it is simply a J-Pop group themes around school life.
4:04 - Yes, SG continued for a while, with all sorts of different members. BABYMETAL is one of the few sub-groups that was never re-cast, likely because the group was formed with Su as the centerpiece
6:22 - Su was absolutely born to be a performer. She said all she ever wanted to do since she was little was be a singer, and that she used to get in trouble as a child because she'd sing loudly around the house too much lol
15:13 - Yes, it indeed is a remix of Headbanger that they did live twice, at "Legend D" and "Legend 1997". There is also a similar "Megitsune" remix that they never did live and a lot of fans probably don't know it even exists, I never hear anyone mention it lol
19:12 - That is why Moa is my fav too, join us :)
20:48 - "Moabanger" as we call it is available on the Babymetal Reactor Resource channel.
People hate on it because it is the only song a lot of people know by them any something as out-there as BABYMETAL is going to get a lot of hate, which is now associated with "Gimme Chocolate"
45:19 - There are several interviews they did going into more detail about how hard the Dark Side tour in 2018 was for them.
Everyone is dressed all fancy and they're in full BABYMETAL mode lol
Anyways, thanks for watching and if you have any additional questions, feel free to ask, I probably know the answer lol
You can get Apocrypha on Amazon but it's pretty pricey.
@@autohmae There is no way to know any of that for certain. I’m just making the best guess I can with the information presented to us.
29:43 is such a perfect encapsulation of a BM interview... Su is talking, Yui is staring into your soul and Moa is looking at Su's hair 😆
Diving into Sakura Gakuin is a deep deep hole.... Start with the Nendo tests 2011-2014 for the laughs.... and end with Su's graduation for the tears. if you're looking for the Moa headbanger, it's usually refered to as Moabanger. :)
Moabanger!!! That already sounds awesome lol.
Great reaction to a long tutorial (could probably been longer...but only the Fox God knows!). There is much to this band and this is a great way to get a feel for what they are. I do hope they continue on, and Kitsune up!
Excellent content, Gombers-Metal
Good job on syncing the video, I heard you had some problems with the recording. Gimme Choco is a lot of fun. Don't be shy to react to it!
Thanks for the great one, long live Gombersmetal!
BABYMETAL FOREVER!! 🦊 🦊 🦊
You should check out that dubstep version of Headbanger...
It's insane!
Kitsune Up🦊🦊🦊🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬
Oooh you didn’t even know Black Babymetal was a thing? What a treat for you. Anyways, great video.
fun fact : an hour video discussing BABYMETAL is a short video.
Everyone loves Moa and she is my favorite. She has no fear, doesn't hold back on her emotions and likes to fuck with people. She messes with Su on stage quite often.
I'm glad you picked this guide for BabyMetal guide, I really like their commentary and knowledge!

Hopefully this answers many questions you haven’t thought of yet .🙂
To see Moa on the guitar , check out the APMA awards when they performed with metal God Rob Halford of Judas Priest. There is just so much for you to see before Yui left , so I would just stick with their early years for now. I’m sure my fellow ONE-ITES will point you in the right direction.
But maybe a reaction to Awadama Fever, would please me. (Hint hint).
3 things to remember,
1. Yuimetal will devour your soul.
2. Moametal is not “SMOL”.
3. Sumetal is Queen.
Enjoy your trip .

That video, both the original as yours, was fantastic!! 👍✊
It's likely been requested already but, for the Sonisphere concert, check out Ijime Dame, Zettai. The video will say 'live from sonisphere 2014'.
Thanks
See you!
Nice longboard in the back I have a santa cruz board myself!
I love your reaction of Babymetal.
Dude yes! React to BxMxC music video! You’ll love it!
It's a chocolate coconut acai protein shake lol. Maybe next time I'll pick up a boba tea for the next long one :)
Waiting for Black BabyMetal reactions. 😁
Well, it was a 1h video, but i watched it lol
Yes you should check some Sakura Gakuin, as you stated it is kind of an "idol training group" that is also an actual idol grup, they have songs and even some fun scripted and unscripted sketches, like the nendo tests (very funny unscripted test about general knownledge).

❤️ 💕 💗
4 minutes in, and you nailed it...
Perhaps? ;)
Su is the one and ONLY Queen of metal. No one compares. 🤘🦊🤘
If you do check out Tales of the Destinies, Keep in mind its a VERY progressive song.
Oooh... if you are going to check out some of their ealier works, try this early version of iine ruclips.net/video/XeDgyu9EuwE/видео.html The Music video is good too, but this version is one of the earlier performance of iine when they were still in Sakura Gakuin... and the breakdown is slightly different (someone in the comments section gives the translation) and cuter than the MV.
Su also wears lifts on stage and Moa doesn’t.
@@crypticmisery7996 True enough, but even when they both wear heels (as they do in promotional pictures) , or sit next to each other, Su has more than a few inches on Moa. And it wouldn't be the first time a singer isn't candid about their height.
@@Wombatmetal idk, I just went with what I could find online, I found a bunch of different answers and averaged them out
@@crypticmisery7996 Don't think you did wrong, not sure there is a definitive number. Like I said, mysteries. I thought you did an excellent job, only caught one mistake
@@Wombatmetal I caught several now after watching through my video again several times. Well, not mistakes, but thinks I wish I had mentioned or worded differently.
I love your reaction of babymetal
I'm a big Beck fan as well but you got to go with the dub version Moon on the water was my favorite song for the longest time If you don't know there's a Live action movie, Koyuki''s singing is muted
There is nothing wrong with Gimme Chocolate It's just always given to first time reactors to get a shock reaction If you do do it, react to the Colbert show Everyone always reacts to the 1997 show and the Kami band isn't even playing

Yui sings #77 which is about swift streams that are parted, but will eventually reunite....hmmmm?

chihayafuru.fandom.com/wiki/Ogura_Hyakunin_Isshu#77._Swift_Waters_Parted_by_the_Jagged_Rocks
Ok, Paramore has nothing to do with this song, BUT when I first heard Brand New Day by Babymetal, it reminded me a bit of Ain't It Fun by Paramore.....
truuuuuth, thank you for the perfect comparison :)
WE WANT MORE!!"
This performance at Sonisphere 2014, led by our fearless Queen, Su-metal, was a HUGE moment in BABYMETAL history, as it legitimized BABYMETAL as a quality, worthy, & exciting metal group.
It's beautiful cat
Gombers you have probably don’t know but me and Moa has the same age 22 years old so 1 month of difference because she born in 4 July 1999 and me I was born in 22 August 1999 so I love more moa because she has the same age to me and she is so beautiful and cute
I look you beautiful sis 🤗😘
It wasn't really that Babymetal eclipsed Sakura Gakuin, the girls just outgrew it. Once Su turned 15 she pretty much had to leave...that's just how things worked. Normally they'd be turned loose and given the opportunity to pursue their own desires but Amuse, the company which manages both SG and BM, decided to keep Babymetal going.
Moabanger is the best banger
@@BlackArr0w I put extra information on the slides that is there for people who wants it, but only actually read off the important stuff. Things like Yui’s note and stuff are there for people to pause and read if they’d like.
A good starting point to get an idea of their music is a song called "DICE" - ruclips.net/video/ZpAYnVJX9CY/видео.html
Check out Gimme Chocolate but the version on the late show. It's a million times better than the official video
You may be shorter than Su and Moa, but you're taller than Asami and Haruna of the Japanese power metal band LOVEBITES.
what is a bts?

If they want to keep the SG grads on, Amuse will come up with a plan for them. Ayami Muto and Su were on singing parallel paths, but while Su had Babymetal and its template for success, Ayami had to start pretty much from scratch as a solo idol and it didn't work out and she left Amuse under a bit of a cloud. Many of the SG grads are still with Amuse doing a variety of things like acting, modeling and of course singing and dancing.
