I love this!! Leah, I wish I had more than 24 hours in a day. I need to go back and watch every single video you have done. They are amazing.
Mitch, you're the best!
Laura Kampf uses a bunch of writing utensils from Pica and I recently bought a whole range of stuff from them (small medium and large pencils, as well as markers and a wax one)... all of them are absolutely stunning. A lil pricey yes but way better than anything else I've found or used. Lasts a long while too. And with the pencils - only need to pay for refills eventually. The smaller one also has an eraser (which are also replaceable) (and even if it's "small" 0.9mm lead is still really thick when it comes to any sort of typical desktop mechanical pencil, it stands up to abuse too).
It's a German pencil so I'm not surprised that Laura uses them
Germans make the best tools hands down.
What a cool tool! The holster makes this a real standout! They really thought of everything for this one and you covered all of its features very well! Thank you Leah!!!
My pleasure
Thank you for sharing your knowledge! You’re the best! 😊
Nice. I respect the "you can do this" sentiment. Been following you for years.
And as always
I was entertained
Thank you
I have the pika pen marker. There's so many things that make it great but what I love the most is that, like Jane said, it very hard to loose. I slip the pen cap into my pocket and I'm always ready to make my markings. It's a real time and sanity saver 😂
That music at 0:20 reminds me of the move "They Live".
Thanks for the review. Got a Rite-in-the-rain pencil for Christmas and a family member already broke it (no fault of the pencil). This looks like a good alternative.
A superb product, I've just ordered one! I'm often out on site in the pouring rain and this looks like a really professional product to have with me. Now if only someone could invent a water-proof notepad! Love all your videos Leah, keep up the great work :)
That’s pretty cool! Thanks Leah
If you have an eraser to clean sand paper you can use that to erase mistakes-helpful in the shop.
You are such a blessing and it's a joy to watch your videos ❤
That is a good design. Thank you for the review!
Thanks for this. I wish you had posted in November it would have been in my stocking for Christmas.
That’s a cool pencil Leah. Thanks for the heads up.
Never knew this existed. This is awesome. Thanks for sharing and demonstrating.
Awesome. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this with us.
Leah, thanks I wasn't half way through the video and put the pencil in my Amazon cart.
Thanks Jane - just ordered one ! 😊
Your content is wonderful, thank you for putting in the time on these videos.
Thanks Keith
Great review, Leah! Thanks for sharing it!
Very cool and useful tool
WOW🤯 thanks for showing us this marvel new tool
Cool. Thank you!
Thank you. I’m going to add that to my tool bag
Thank you, Miss Leah.
I love my Carpenter pencils, but this one definitely has an appeal.
I usually carry a mechanical pencil for fine lines, but it's not really made for marking wood and such.
Thank you again. God bless and stay safe out there working.
I've seen these but was skeptical. I am no longer skeptical 😂. Thanks Leah ❤
used for years and love it. I have 2 - one black & one yellow lead
I just love see jane
Another kewl tool. Thank you Leia 😀
Pica makes great stuff! Thanks for all these great tips, Leah.
And here I thought my drafting pencil was cool. That's fascinating! The "lead" (graphite) formulation must be soft enough to write on surfaces that don't take No.2/HB graphite or shred wet paper, but tough enough to not snap if you look at it funny (There's a reason why you don't see B/2B/4B pencil lead, except maybe 0.9mm). The fact that you can mark up metal with this makes it perfect for places like makerspaces where woodworking and metalworking often mix (with a firewall).
What a voice! As soothing as it can get! You should do voice overs for audio books
Great tool, Leah. I agree. It is a very handy addition to one's tool kit. Even if my projects are light weight. At seventy-three years of age, I'm not going to be doing too much. But I still like to tackle some projects, nonetheless. Thank you for the great video. I've been a little under the weather, but I will order the pencil when I get around to ordering the shower head. 😊
Very nice! Combine this with a "Rite in the Rain" notebook and you'd be set on any job site.
I got one for Christmas this year!
Wow!
I used to be in construction and never saw one of these or paid attention...lol
Great video and what looks like a great product. Thank you!
I'm going to get one or two or three for myself and gifts.
That's a
"gotta have it"!!!
Thanks!
Very cool!
Thanks Leah! I have a couple Pica pencils and love them. I found they periodically go on sale on various websites so I waited to get a good price. Love the white "lead" for marking on walnut.
Hey Leah
Always good information on your channel.
Take care of Yourself 😊
That is a nice tool, I'm always looking for a smart tool. Thanks Leah.
Ordered. Thank you. 🤙
Thanks For the info, great as allways.
I have one I use all the time.
Thanks, Leah❤
Thank you Leah. That’s a great tool to have
That’s neat Leah.
I have one of these and love it!! Thanks for sharing all the info about its features.
Cool tool, Leah. You find the coolest stuff!
Excellent
I have two of those and I love them🇨🇦💕👏
Nice. I like it ✏️ 🛠️🛠️
Oh my goodness- this is awesome! I'm going to get one for my brother.
Well! You out-cooled my pencil.🤣 I gotta get one. Thanks!
Wow. I have seen very good quality soft pencils for a fraction of price in art supplies. For everything else, just use marker.
Thanks Leah very cool, might pickup for work
Happy Saturday Hollywood! I need one of those!
Nice thanks for sharing. I didn't think you were going to say 'what I don't like' :)
I bought one in 2017, and the lead comes in three colors: black-red and yelllow.
A great tip! Pun intended! LOL... I have both the Pica pen and pencil. They are really good markers I've used them for over a year now and I can say that they're the best I've used as well.
Nice....Thanks for the new product review. DVD:)
Sold!
Hey!! That is a groovy pencil!!! ❤
Thank you another great idea! You are the best
I just went to order but they are all out on Amazon as of this morning. But thank you. I use Rite in the Rain but I gotta try this one out now. Thanks!
I use Write in the Rain, as well
Cooooool.
When the first Apollo mission to the moon was being thought out, the bofins at NASA spent millions of dollars trying to come up with something that would write in zero gravity.
The Russians instead, just used a cheap pencil on their flight to the moon.! 🤣
Scuba divers also sometimes just use a pencil and a plastic board to communicate with each other.
I have two of these and use them often, but don’t love the the sharpener
I want one 😀
Thanks for showing this.
I wonder if it'll write on tires well enough to show the tire shop people where the leak is.
The yellow lead really shows well on darker materials
Nice
It looks great, I'm tempted to get it but that would be the first mechanical pencil I've ever liked. The fact that it doesn't have an eraser is interesting, but old school carpenter pencils don't have erasers either. 😅
Fair enough!
The link states it is out of stock and they don't know when, or if it will be replaced.
There seemed to be other similar brands available online.
That wouldn't be bad to have in the emergency kit, too!
I hadn't thought òf that...great idea
Amazing, Leah! Love this review. I already bought two! One for myself because I love this sort of thing and another tradesman friend with a birthday coming up. 🎉
Have you tried them on the Rite-In-Rain notepads? Seems like the perfect combo!
These are great pencils. Use them myself…
Whats the name ans brand of the tool pouch you have it looks really nice
Ive seen this pencil in my husband's shed, i had no idea that it did all this. May iask please, what lead is being used that allows to marking on so many things? Sorry if its a silly question.
Nice option, thanks for sharing YAH bless !
I dont try things yet that you show. Im not there yet. Im very scared.
I used a saw once, I dont know what it was called. My husband had trimmed trees and I thought I would help cut things up smaller. It is gut wrenching that I dont know how I didn't lose fingers, not knowing there was a safety guard, and I did have my hand further than I should have. The thought is terrifying.
Then, fiddling with simple callipers, I manage to whop my fingers in the release every time. I've whopped my fingers using vices, and metal whops on fingers hurt!
I just always seem to hurt myself because I'm so green! I do try things on my own because I dont want anyone to see how clueless I am. So your videos inform me until I muster courage to try things again. Hopefully with better knowledge to use things safely. Thank you.
If you don't know how to use a tool safely, have someone knowledgeable show you how.
Tool use is like any other skill. We weren't born knowing how to play a musical instrument, or how to draw or cook. We had to learn, someone had to teach us.
There is no shame in being taught something you didn't know how to do before.
Just make sure the person teaching you knows what they are doing.
You wouldn't learn to drive a car from someone who couldn't drive themselves.
@@StevenKeery aww very good point! Thanks for helping me feel better and realize I shouldn't be embarrassed.
what or whose tool carrier is that?
i'm a locksmith and th18" is just to big for my needs.
It was a gift and unfortunately I don't know the brand
❤❤
This is a great tool! Thank you Leah! ::did i spell that right? Lol😅::
You did indeed
Hi Leah, your amazon affiliate link doesn't work
I'll check it....but many people have checked it out on amazon
@@seejanedrill interesting! I've tried both options, mobile and PC; in both cases it will take me to my Amazon Homepage, not your store. I tried to find the Amazon link on your website as well, I couldn't find it
I hear my wallet crying lol. Thanks Leah
Nice things can be pricey
😊💫💫💫💫
I never noticed that you are a lefty
Yep
Leah - I have a question for you. Has being left-handed and artistic caused you problems in this right-handed occupation/hobby or any other area of your life? I had a sister who was left-handed but not artistic and she struggled with almost everything her whole life. I have a theory, but finding left-handed artistic people is difficult.
Anyway - thanks!!
Trapper_Creek: Leonardo Da Vinci was reputed to be left-handed. He seemed to manage alright.
@@StevenKeery
And he had an artistic mind - I think that’s the difference, not so much the handedness. Thanks for your input!!
May i ask pleae how come you call your channel seejanedrill when your name is Leah? Sorry if youve explained a million times before.
The name of the channel was inspired by the book series "Fun with Dick and Jane"
@@seejanedrill oh brilliant, thank you!
*Leah I just need to correct your video title 'HandyPERSON'.... as women are just as handy with tools as men 🙂.*
Hm. $16 for a $0.10 pencil with no eraser. I'm not sure about that.
I understand but interestingly it really is the best pencil I've ever used in my shop.
Mehh
😮
Are you kidding? That's awesome! I'm losing my pencil all the time, just like everyone else. No rolling?! Deep marks?
I generally use normal pencils, that you get in a multipack because I use them and lose them. That's why I buy super cheap mechanical pencils. However, they don't mark well on wet surfaces (no onw should be marking on wet wood except when you've sprayed it to determine which part of the blank you'll be using where). For tiles, I'd use a sharpie because it will come off with alcohol.
I'm not sure that this would be a great difference in what I can do with a china marker pencil and a regular mechanical pencil .... except on wet surfaces. Stabilo makes a great pencil that will mark on anything like a china marker, but it's a pencil. You can get mechanical pencils that are at 0.5 width.
If you have a hole to mark deeper than the pencil can reach, mayhap you should use something else. There are many options other than pencils to mark deep holes.
While this is a great thing, it's way cheaper to buy a stabilo pencil in white, a good pencil sharpener, and a cheap multipack of 0.5 mechanical pencils.
Cool..but i still love the look of having a timber pencile
It's kinda like a drafting pencil?
great tip im going to wright it down thanks
Thank you for sharing the pros and cons. It could be a cool gift for my dad.
I doubt he has one yet
I clicked the link when the video came out and it said that 19 were left, now 17! Leah will surely make these sell out (at least on Amazon)!
You are so amazing! Thank you for all you do🤗
thanks for the info. i like your tool bag also. what brand is it?
The bag was a gift and to be perfectly honest I don't recall the brand.
