It was a triple combination shot, the blue 2 onto the purple 5 and into the 9. A two way shot, tucking the cue ball behind the 8.

This seems like a consequence of the live broadcast. Skyler played a tight safety but since he came a the 2 off two rails, there was no rail-contact after he hit the 2, so Josh got ball-in-hand. While they're showing the foul in slow motion for clarification, Filler plays an immediate safety, gluing the cueball to a blocker, and plays the 9 because he can afford to miss. The camera cut back just in time, but it wasn't a full-aggression shot.
I'm so glad Scott Frost is part of the commentary team. He does an excellent job commentating at Derby City. Well deserved Scott.
Yeah he's really something, grateful for his presence in pool.
100% spot on. If I can't have JJ commentating, then its Scott. Or Tony Robles and Nick Schulman, who happens to also be a really insightful commentator.
@@joesatchton212 When he commentates at Derby City, he’s insightful, modest, respectful, funny, and obviously the real deal. But most of all he’s so pleasant to listen to, he has a nice soothing voice, is so relaxed, and just commentates the right amount.

The first time I seen Shane show some reaction to the crowd. He needs to turn off his hearing aids or something. He is letting his ego and the crowd mess with him.

Shane is a very quiet person, probably he doesn’t like to play in this kind of atmosphere. Personally I hate Mosconi Cup. People are screaming for no reason making annoying sounds all the time. Just awful

@@sargentomor4019 Mosconi cup has been a joke for years. The format sucks. They need different disciplines to test these players. Nothing but 9ball is a boring and lucky game at times. Yes the crowd is the worst part.

Yeah, those misses were brutal, especially the 9 ball that was 4 inches from the corner pocket. After that, I knew the US was done for. Just a momentum shifter, and it just snowballed. Fedor looked off as well.

The pressure has to be off-the-charts for SVB to come apart like that. He's a legend and usually plays well under pressure but this is something altogether different.

@@tgh223 what are u talking about? There are normal pockets, it's just about nerves. Imaging playing against best players of the world in a crowded room with a lot fans from all over the world, that are constantly crying, cheering and all that stuff. This will affect everybody.
Well, it's the same for Team Europe, they seem alright with the pockets.
A team atmosphere just revs up the pressure you must be feeling. A tour event, you take a loss and move on; this Cup intensity, guys sitting must have elevated heartrates.
No one wants to let each other down.

also 31:13, would have been nice for someone to mention that jumping from the rail is easier, so Woodward did what many do, which is overhit a high-pressure jump with his opponent on the hill, sending the cueball on top of the 8. he hits the 8 so full, I wonder if he was going for a cut or a bank

Wolford played well too. He made some clutch shots. SVB played unexpectedly poor but it is what it is. Some nights are off nights. I’m excited to see fedors singles match tomorrow.

totally overthought that shot, you could tell the nine was playing in his head. At first, he was like let me draw it back with bottom left which would be the normal thing to do. But because he had missed a layup prior he decided to slow roll and make the nine in the side, and totally butchered it.

edit: he hits the first ball quite softly.. so it seem to be the smooth new condition of the equipment that allow the balls to roll so easily.
I wait all year to watch the Super Bowl of pool and it’s the same song and dance. Always rooting for my home USA and they always seem to fail. It’s a bit upsetting. Sadly whenever I think of true professional pool players it’s the men that make up Team Europe.
