Will, I too am a LPD8 user. My band uses it more for remote use and it is stellar. Also to your point the Mini-B connector is migraine headache (I have the older one). I have to use cable ties to tie the cable to the mic stand (we also use a Windows Surface tablet with tablet adapter) to keep the cable for slipping out. for the most part, it's survived countless gigs at the hands of my drummer 😁. Another good remote control for Ableton if your a solo musician is also want I have, the MeloAudio Midi Commander.

Akai calls them encoders, but really, they’re pots (so not endlessly turnable). I wish they wouldn’t confuse things so. They do the same for the Nanokontrol.

We use the LPD8 for changing vocal tuning keys in Waves Superrack / Waves Tune Real Time.

Any y'all got a M-Vave wireless floor foot switch? Sc'gada epress.pedal 1/4" input. Wireless Midi cc really does give you lots of control, but I've forgotten all of that good stuff. I had a commodore 64… (sys-ex libraries!!) Really hope companies like MV continue to develop their software for their hardware. Making it open source will ensure, I believe, longevity and success of development of those types of standards.
