This was a great video! As an ex-support of Palestine who now stands with Israel 100%, this gives me even more points on why there is misinformation on the pro-Palestinian side. And honestly the oppressor isn't Israel, it's Hamas. My best friend is engaged to a Palestinian woman, and I have had some deep conversations on this topic with them. I can see from her response to things I say that she is attempting to see my side of things, and can actually see the flaws in her arguments, but inertia is powerful and she tells me how her family has such strong feelings. My favorite argument that kind of blew her mind, was that if Israel is illegitimate because it was formed by the UN, then many of the surrounding Arab nations are illegitimate because they were formed in the same documents under the same authority. It is undeniable because this document is central to their argument. When you pick apart the arguments enough it comes down To religion, there are Christians in Lebanon but it’s not the Christians at war with Israel. The Muslim countries do not accept the authority of non Muslim empires imposing borders unless they benefit Muslims. Israel is an affront to the authority that they all believe in, because for generations it was said that God took the Jewish homeland and scattered them to the wind, and that this is more an affront to Gods authority than anything. These same groups were ruled for a very long time by the Ottomans, there was a distinct emphasis on Muslim rule over the land. Now with the secular US and UK bringing about the Jewish state, there is something in their region which isn’t distinctly Muslim. The same thing is why the Shah was so deeply unpopular, he tried to make Iran secular and he was as aggressive as the fundamentalists to achieve his goal.The same thing prevents progress in Saudi Arabia, the king and crown prince in the past have said they can only change the culture as fast as the fundamentalists allow because there is always the threat of a holy civil war. Since the start of the war I started my studies as well. Before that I did't have much clue either. Most people don't know the very basic facts. My realisation as an outsider is that it was never about freeing "Palestine", it was always about the destruction of Israel.
The younger generation are not the same as in my day. We were taught to think critically and use logic and rationale to assess, and didn't fall for emotive rhymes and jingo created by deceivers bent on power and destruction.
I notice that among the people younger than me. As an older millennial, I took logic 100 and always used critical thinking, to look at all the facts before making a decision based on emotion. I see some of my peers and younger people falling for the propaganda and it's sad what this world has become.

About 4 months ago, I decided to look into what the conflict was all about and why people are so Pro-Palestine. I went on the deep dive for myself rather than blindly listen to the protestors. I am glad I did and I can't understand how anyone is Pro-Palestine other than Palestinians and most Muslims. I'm much the same, I didn't know much about the conflict except that I couldn't really see why people were so critical of Israel. I kind of figured I must have missed something. Post Oct 7 I did a lot of reading, watching, listening and research and have come to the same conclusion. The West is incredibly unreasonable in what we expect of Israel in terms of restraint and how they conduct wars (wars they don't want but must fight).

I am a lot like Konstantin in that I started out sitting on the fence, not knowing a huge amount about the situation and being part of Ukrainian community focused mainly on that war, while hearing a lot of bad news about Israeli settlement ongoing. But the more I've looked over it the more it's very clear that 1. Hamas genuinely intends genocide and Israel does not and 2. Israel has taken reasonable measures to reduce civilians losses (unlike Russia) during justified self defence against a genocide attempt on them. 3. Hamas enjoys a high 40% support and represents the sort of authoritarian Islam that exists in Iran and ISIS, is certainly a danger to western democracy and has become intertwined with this anti-west alliance that also includes Marxism and Russian fascism so it's looking like part of the same conflict we are facing in Ukraine. Also. I have seen the jewish synagogue in Sydney Australia where I am living requiring 24/7 security protection and I am very shocked and saddened that something like this is necessary in Australia of all places in 2024.

This was a great video! As an ex-support of Palestine who now stands with Israel 100%, this gives me even more points on why there is misinformation on the pro-Palestinian side. And honestly the oppressor isn't Israel, it's Hamas. Hamas doesn't protect its citizens in the war, they use the aid money for rockets instead of helping their people, etc. Plus, Egypt could have accepted Gazans too, but they didn't. Yes, people may get displaced, but look at Ukraine and Russia, bordering countries accepted Ukrainians, and there is a possibility that those Ukrainians might never go back to Ukraine. But at least people's lives are saved.
Egypt did take in thousands of "Palestinians" once, and very soon afterwards, things started exploding in Egypt... Israel tried to give the Gaza Strip back to Egypt, and Egypt said "hell no!" Prior to the Oct 7th massacre, Egypt was already building their border wall *even higher* to keep the Gazans out!
Lebanon too tried taking in over 200,000 "Palestinians", and then the majority Christians were slaughtered and massacred by these "refugees" who repaid the Lebanese kindness with murder and civil war!

My best friend is engaged to a Palestinian woman, and I have had some deep conversations on this topic with them. I can see from her response to things I say that she is attempting to see my side of things, and can actually see the flaws in her arguments, but inertia is powerful and she tells me how her family has such strong feelings. My favorite argument that kind of blew her mind, was that if Israel is illegitimate because it was formed by the UN, then many of the surrounding Arab nations are illegitimate because they were formed in the same documents under the same authority. The Muslim countries do not accept the authority of non Muslim empires imposing borders unless they benefit Muslims. The interests of this group of people and the Palestinian cause are well aligned. This is why I suspect my buddy is able to be engaged to this woman and why he nods along, he marched with BLM, he bought into that stuff hook line and sinker, this is who he is. From his perspective, as a white guy, he is best off just listening and accepting her arguments. The interesting thing is he has darker skin than she has, she is very white. For all of the people who think this is about brown people being bombed by white people, this is absurd, I am darker than both of them combined, these are both very white people, one of whom is Palestinian. This is not white vs brown, this is not Palestinians vs Israel, this is a fundamentalist religious belief against a group of people their religion says that god hates.

Seeing the brutality of war is never nice, but you cannot let that cloud your logical reasoning. Also how people weep for the Palestinians and yet seem to completely gloss over the Israeli women who were raped, tortured and murdered that day, as a woman astounds me.

I am in the same position as Konstantin. I did not have any knowledge about this conflict before October 7th 2023. But after October 7th, it was really eye-opening. I read both narratives. I can only say that the Israeli narrative is the one which makes sense. Since the start of the war I started my studies as well. Before that I did't have much clue either. Most people don't know the very basic facts. My realisation as an outsider is that it was never about freeing "Palestine", it was always about the destruction of Israel.
The younger generation are not the same as in my day. We were taught to think critically and use logic and rationale to assess, and didn't fall for emotive rhymes and jingo created by deceivers bent on power and destruction.
I notice that among the people younger than me. As an older millennial, I took logic 100 and always used critical thinking, to look at all the facts before making a decision based on emotion. I see some of my peers and younger people falling for the propaganda and it's sad what this world has become.

About 4 months ago, I decided to look into what the conflict was all about and why people are so Pro-Palestine. I went on the deep dive for myself rather than blindly listen to the protestors. Post Oct 7 I did a lot of reading, watching, listening and research and have come to the same conclusion.
The West is incredibly unreasonable in what we expect of Israel in terms of restraint and how they conduct wars (wars they don't want but must fight).
That would be equal to realizing g that half of the native Americans were actually still living in Europe; then being angry because they purchased all the property in America and wanted to move back home.

I am a lot like Konstantin in that I started out sitting on the fence, not knowing a huge amount about the situation and being part of Ukrainian community focused mainly on that war, while hearing a lot of bad news about Israeli settlement ongoing.
But the more I've looked over it the more it's very clear that 1. Hamas genuinely intends genocide and Israel does not and 2. Israel has taken reasonable measures to reduce civilians losses (unlike Russia) during justified self defence against a genocide attempt on them. 3. Hamas enjoys a high 40% support and represents the sort of authoritarian Islam that exists in Iran and ISIS, is certainly a danger to western democracy and has become intertwined with this anti-west alliance that also includes Marxism and Russian fascism so it's looking like part of the same conflict we are facing in Ukraine.
Also. I have seen the jewish synagogue in Sydney Australia where I am living requiring 24/7 security protection and I am very shocked and saddened that something like this is necessary in Australia of all places in 2024.
