Using whole milk instead of heavy cream in this recipe will result in a less rich, creamy texture. Here's why: Fat content: Heavy cream has a higher fat content than whole milk, which contributes to the richness and creaminess of the ice cream. Texture: The higher fat content in heavy cream helps to prevent ice crystals from forming, resulting in a smoother texture. Flavor: While whole milk can still provide a delicious base for ice cream, it may lack the same level of richness and indulgence that heavy cream offers. Other ingredients that might help with the body and texture are corn syrup (an ingredient I don't use) or sweetened condensed milk. I don't have a recipe using those ingredients but you might find one if you search online.
I just bought the Cuisinart ice cream maker and I’m quite excited to try this recipe. I made it in the blender and put the blender in the fridge and tomorrow I will spin it. Thanks for the recipe and the tip about vodka sounds good.😅
Yes. Use unsweetened almond milk. Replace the granulated sugar with Swerve Granular and the brown sugar with Swerve Brown. I specify the Swerve brand because the mix of sugar substitutes works well for ice cream. You Will Need: 2 1/4 cups heavy cream 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk 1 1/2 tsp vanilla 3/4 cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder 1/2 cup Swerve Granular 1/3 cup Swerve brown pinch of salt 1 T. vodka, optional (helps reduce iciness)
Would you call that a milk chocolate or dark? Can I add less sugar for a more chocolate taste or is it already dark? I’ve used a Ben n Jerry’s knock off before but I love just using coco powder!! Thanks!❤
I used Ghirardelli Premium Baking 100% Cocoa Dutch Process. I would call it dark cocoa powder. This recipe, with that cocoa powder, had a deep chocolate flavor. The mix of sugars was perfect to my taste. I suggest you try this combination and then tweak it to your personal preference.
You may find that only using heavy cream results in an ice cream that is too dense. The milk lightens the ice cream. Give it a try and see how you like it.

Can I use only heavy cream? why milk?
