i thought this tech belonged to the Alteran before Atlantis existed, when they were going through the period of time when all their tech was that black stone marble design, the Alteran experimented with a lot of their tech in stone. i mean in window of opportunity the tech was that orange stone look the temple of Dakara was the same design tech however it seemed to have a few upgrades for display interfaces, but i believe the black marble tech came after this, but what's weird is the Alteran tech came in many different designs through their history. within their home galaxy they had space travel in ships that didn't seem to be dependent on star power like what they later created for the seed ships and the Destiny designs, but this might have been based on a design that could work endlessly for millions of years, these designs almost seemed older to the tech than what they left the Ori galaxy to begin with. so if i were to guess the advancement styles from beginning to end. Ori galaxy they used the advanced looking ships not sure what their ship was made of but it was advanced. then when they arrived in the milky way, they decided to ditch that look and embrace the orange stone infused tech designs. then they sent out seed ships and later on the destiny with a more metallic steam punk design. then they started using black marble stone infused tech design. then they moved onto blueish green designs, and i'm not really sure what Atlantis is made of, but it doesn't appear to be made from stone of any kind, but it reminds me of crystal or glass mixed with a meatal of some kind. but yeah, they went through a lot of strange design concepts within their history, and it's even possible that the pyramids that the Goa'uld use in present day were also designs created by the Alteran originally, because as we know the Goa'uld stole and reverse engineered every advanced tech they came across which mostly came from the Alterans. of course the Goa'uld had their own symbolism and that became the Egyptian style along side their own dialect.
I always thought the Quantum Mirror should've been given to the Asgard. With the Quantum Mirror the Asgard could jump to alternate realities til they found a version of themselves without cloning problems and saved themselves.
The quantum mirror was a whole 'nother can of bees that, while interesting, I can totally understand why they wouldn't want to crack open anymore than they did.
My head cannon has always been that the reason all the alternate SG-1s didn't suffer from entropic cascade failure wasn't that they were from such similar universes. It was because the Stargate was used. Essentially the gates deconstruct and reconstruct matter. So what if the receiving gate used local matter. No ECF cause the travelers are now native to the receiving universe.
I always like the quantum mirror episodes. Who knows where they could have traveled if they could have utilized it even on a limited basis. But I see why they destroyed it after the episode in which the parallel world Earth was attacked by the G'ould then the Asgard came and helped. Too much of a risk but still would have been fun to see even a few episodes.
Maybe the mirror is an advanced prototype of the unintented interdimensional properties of the Stargate under the right cosmic circumstances. By simply isolating (through keen observation) what specificaly causes a stargate to act as a dimensiongate instead, and replicating the same effects on a significantly smaller scale inside a diffirent structure that works of slightly alterd traversal principles. I guess that the selection itself is build upon an inverse look at the universe, and looking inside with the univese itself being outside. The look being able to be moved upon a certain reference field around this area of vision, with progressive iderations that are based upon the degrees of turns in one and another direction based upon the original location. Wherein only the direct mirror/reverse of the instruction can lead back to the same area. Immagine navigating a Mandelbrot Set Fractal. Exept the view and relative dimension is infinite and everywhere and the dialing of location is entirely relative.
Annnnd now you know what happened to the Furlings, who almost definitely made them. Hence them being on the same level as the other Four Races, and why no one knows what happened to them. They simply left that reality. #OccamsRazor
I just made this comment on the Furling video! I think this is definitely Furling technology and they used it to travel to a parallel universe that was less populated or even not seeded yet.
The thing about the mirror that makes it dangerous is that it seems like someone on the other end can activate your mirror without your remote input making it a random very dangerous device. How could you prepare to defend it when at any moment someone can activate it from there end and you have no idea what monstrosities that reality can bring to yours.
“I’m ordering the mirror to be destroyed. But first,… We’re having all the world’s nuclear waste and garbage sent through.” It’s a wonder a bunch of planets didn’t decide to do that with their Stargates. Maybe they just piled it up and let the ka-whoosh disintegrate it all. LOL.
Considering how many realities were conquered by the Goa'uld, probably an unwise idea to dump nuclear material and attract the attention of the Goa'uld in charge of Earth.
The paradise beach was a illusion designed to lure in travelers. There is another episode where, I forgot the alien's name but, they send a MALP through the gate and see the same paradise, but it is a trap. Same alien is doing the same trick here. It is a nice easter egg.
I was always intrigued by the Quantum Mirror and the episode ‘There But For the Grace of God’ that allow them to tell an alternate reality of destruction of earth. Can you do a video on The Arthur’s Mantle?
The terminal device that phase-shifts users? Definitely a good idea for a future video. Or maybe a video on phase-shifting in general in the Stargate universe (the crystal skull, the Sodan cloak, etc.).
The big question is. How can be certain Daniel ever made it back to his reality? Maybe there was an almost identical one in which their version of him had also used the mirror?
There was a device found on a desert planet that let creatures be visible after said device was touched. This device was said to be made by the ancients and the creatures were said to be from another dimension.
Are you thinking of the bugs in Season 6's "Sight Unseen"? In that case a different dimension is a separate sci-fi conceit than a parallel universe. In theory, each universe has it's own cluster of dimensions. SG-1 also did dimensions with the Sodan cloaking technology, as well as Merlin's computer. (A hiccup with the latter actually even pushed Sam into a parallel universe in "The Road Not Taken.")
@@GateWorldDotNet Yes, I was talking about the bugs. There was a red dragonfly thing, a large green slug, and a lot of other things.
