    Very intelligent lineman. Great, quick reads by the QB. The o-line splits are amazing and the backs never block the read keys. Great stuff Woodhaven! Well coached team. Kudos!

    This has always been one of my favorite plays. I found this play through a school named Colerain who runs it very very well but woodhaven is on another level with it

    In my opinion this is the best and most consistent offense if executed correctly

    Really like this playbook and I like all of the different schemes that you run the Triple Option out of. Do you have a playbook for this particular Triple Option Offense by any chance? I am a coach up in Richland, WA and currently, the team runs a traditional Pro-Style I-Formation offense, however next season I will be taking over as the head coach and I really like to add the Triple Option to the offense to mix things up, particularly the I-Formation Sets/Formations and and Pistol/Shotgun Formations if you have them. Really appreciate it and thanks again for your time.

    Sucks that your linemen cannot cut. That is the best part of running the triple, cutting everyone down. Thankful every day that I coach in Texas where cutting is legal.

    The QB and the linemen are excellent but the bback and aback need more speed heading into the secondary

    Question why do the offensive linemen all get in to their stance before the snap of the ball. I notice a lot of option teams do this. Is this to get the defensive line another thing to worry about?

      Some option teams will check the play at the L.O.S depending on the Def. front. Staying in a 2-pt stance allows the OL to adjust splits based on the play.

    Can you cover this by playing Cover 2 Zone?

    • @dfens1987
      @dfens1987 5 лет назад

      You can, but a simple switch in assignment between the lead HB and the WR, where the WR blocks the deep safety and the lead HB blocks the corner will put you in a bind.

    Maybe it's me but where I come from you are supposed to cover the QB if you are a SS or LB. On the option you come up and assassinate that SOB. I mean completely and utterly destroy him regardless if he laterals or not.

      William Payton this is how we were taught to defend the option as well at my high school we ran a 5-2 with Defensive ends pretty much being outside linebackers (because we didn't always rush usually in the passing game we had flat coverage in most cases) but we considered them defensive ends and as an end we were taught that on an option to hit the QB every time really hard every time, and by the end of the game agianst almost every option opponent we faced the QB would make a poor decision that would lead to either a key turnover or stop that helped us win the game our Coaches in film study would always say that is from the pounding we gave them all game. My coaches were older coaches that had coached high school football in GA for 30+ years and had won several state championships before my tenure as a player under them.

      Soon as a SS starts to fill the alley then PAP's are thrown to the grass he left. That's Triple Option 101 Post Wheel Routes are the normal fit for such.

      Then he fakes option, you come flying in, and he lofts an easy TD pass over your head to the play-side B-back that nobody thought to cover.

    Helps when you're playing undisciplined defenses. Several times both DL and LB went to FB.

    It's a great offense but the running backs need a better pitch relationship it looked like the got a few forward passes in which is a penalty

      only if he's past the line of scrimmage when he does it ;)

    • @TriplellOnLeague
      @TriplellOnLeague 7 лет назад

      I watched about 5 minutes worth. I didn't see a single forward, except one that was close. Even then, all the pitch-options were taken behind the line of scrimmage. Also "behind the line of scrimmage" is typically defined as any part of the body behind the line of scrimmage. You're not considered past the line of scrimmage until your entire body passes it.

      No, they're just getting down into a stance. As long as they're still for a second after that, it's legal.
