Sedges have stems which are triangular in section. Rushes have round stems and totally different flowering heads. Leaves also different. Those sedges are Great Pendulous Sedges - well named because of the drooping flower heads. Steve, don't forget that the local authority has a statutory obligation to repair rights of way. Also, this path is amazing in its own right - a cousin of the more famous Cripple Path - and should be preserved as one of the special features of The Undercliff. It's also a brilliant way to get to the path along the top of the rear cliff.
