I was cleaning my sewing table (which is my dinning room table), put everything away, saw this video was up....hauling all my stuff back to the table😂😂 I love this channel!
Same here ! At least the room is being used !otherwise …no one sits in there . My son thought maybe as a gift to me , clear out a room in the basement and setup a sewing room . I said no ! It’s too cold down there . I like being on main floor …I can cook and sew on one level. Less likely to burn my stew when I am right there in the dining room.
I am addicted. I have made 10 so far. These are fun, easy and very usable. Thank you for the directions for making these. Unfortunately, I feel these are going to be the zucchini of my sewing world😂.
Jess, there isn’t a better bag maker videotographer than you! I live on RUclips for my sewing. Have RUclips premium because of all of the RUclips that I watch. I HOPE you are making enough money to support your channel! Please continue!
Hey Jess right it's 1/17/23 I just saw this video I think there both so darn cute I love them I'm sorry to choose but I love the copper one the best thank you for teaching how to make it myself
Haven't had a chance to get my hands on the jelly vinyl yet, but may try with another vinyl with HTV on the back. Love the boxy bag! And I love this clear vinyl version even more. Great video as always.
Thanks for sharing your tips for creating this lovely little pouch. Your comments about the double sided tape v wash away tape are appreciated. I have recently purchased a specific needle to solve this problem, "anti-glue" . The jelly vinyl looks interesting.
I made some for Christmas and they were the same pattern but all different shapes. I filled them with gifts for Christmas. So fun! I am getting ready to make more for a weekend getaway with my daughters .
I'm going to try this again with some clear vinyl that's more flexible. What I bought was on the Amazon site and you just never know how the product will satisfy (or not). Weft+Warp and Wonderground were sold out. Keep crankin' out those videos!
These are so cute. I have a question on how to adjust the dimensions. My base fabric is 11 3/4 X 7 3/4. Can you explain how I can adjust my top panels. Thank you so much.
You have great ideas and instruction…..would you possibly know how to or have covered cool shopping bags with vinyl? I have a cool Nordstrom silver bag and a go up old others I use for like get polish storage kit…would be so great to cover the bags either way vinyl somehow.
I love your tutorials. This is the 3rd project I’m making because of your expert advice. Made the Boxy bag with jelly vinyl and TPU vinyl and the only issue I’m having is the boxing out part. I feel my edges on the TPU, near the jelly, I can see some thread. What can I do?
Learned my lesson . Made a bad decision to order what I thought was the right kind of vinyl that is clear with prints on them. Having cut into a few of them I am stuck with them. They are not heavy enough & do not hold their shape on the boxy pouch. Maybe my mistake will help someone else. Is TPU clear vinyl the correct product? Thank you for the great lessons.
So, I give up. I love this bag and wanted to make it. Got all the supplies, but it's a no go. I have a Babylock Jazz 2 and I get as far as sewing the ends with the vinyl and it just nests on the bottom. I've tried changing needles, cleaning my needle, using a silicone foot, cotton thread, poly thread, a walking foot and every tension the machine offers. I even got out m my little ancient Janome and tried. Nope. I have 2 big Husqvarna embroidery/sewing machines, and nope. I will go to the ladies at The Sewing Garret here in Daytona to see if they have any insight. I have made a bazillion itty bitty boxy bags and LOVE making them. This one, maybe someday ;) I will make it with cotton instead. Reply
Love this bag and have ordered jelly vinyl!! However, is there a chart or a formula to know size to cut box to ensure the sides match? I'm pretty particular about the sides matching!! Thanks for the great video!!
i hope this can help someone whom is having a thread breaking issue. .Sooo. she wasn't kidding about the sticky needle. My thread broke maybe 6 times on that initial top stitch through the tape. Which sucks because since you can see the stitching on the inside you can see the start and stops. Heres what I did, it saved time and no problems with the needle. I tape it all together once on one side ( then repeat on other side) ... I tape the zipper on and tape the out side of exterior and add the accent and then I WAX my needle. This is key. I stitch accent and zipper on in one go. The bottom part of the accent is not over tape. I clean needle with alcohol and then stitch the bottom top stitch which doesn't go over tape. I do not stitch the top stitch in a rectangle at one time. hope this makes sense. I do not baste zipper first. That gums it up before I even start topstiching for real. I am not a pro I just have a regular machine and regular needles.
Hi! Love, love, love this video. I’m so sorry to ask, but I’m just a little confused. Could please clarify for me… So cutting the TOU at 4.25” Is that for the 1 3/4” boxed ends? Or 1 1/2” boxed ends? I want them to match up on the vinyl. Also if I box at 1 1/2” do I cut the TPU at 4”? I know, I’m awful to be asking such silly questions, 🤦🏻♀️ but I’m a quilter and I’m just starting to use vinyl. Love your tutorials. I have learned so so much on your channel. Thank you ❤❤.
Hello Jess I thoroughly enjoy your tutorials and now have my friend hooked. Would you please let me know where you get the lighter you use to burn threads? Thank you!😊
Jess … I like your lighter …I can’t find it on Amazon , where did you buy it ? Please share …. I would like to make a boxy vinyl bag , so thanks for link for jelly vinyl. Never seen jelly vinyl. Thank you
Do you have the measurements for the clear lining only to make until I can score a template? Is the measurements the same for the lining as the lining you would use for your original fabric boxy bag to be able to be able to make the single clear version?
Hi Jess! Just found your channel. I want to start experimenting with jelly vinyl fabric, but I'm curious what other fabrics you think would work well together with it if you want to make something that will be sturdy and long lasting with good structure? Ex. Leather, cork ect. Would love to get your opinion on it.
I made 2 from the clear vinyl from purple dragon fabrics. Does anyone’s box squish? Or is it pretty sturdy? Idk what to expect or know if it’s normal lol
Hello everyone! i need some help figuring out how to do the bottom part of this bag if i don't have jelly vinyl for it, just regular vinyl, and i don't like the baking of it because it shows through the upper, clear part
“You didn’t buy supplies, you bought presents.” My new mantra every time the delivery truck arrives☺️❣️
I say the same thing to my husband
I was cleaning my sewing table (which is my dinning room table), put everything away, saw this video was up....hauling all my stuff back to the table😂😂 I love this channel!

😂😂😂
Same here 😅 Just cleaned my dining room table. My family hasn't been able to eat there for years. But now.....

Hey Jess right it's 1/17/23 I just saw this video I think there both so darn cute I love them I'm sorry to choose but I love the copper one the best thank you for teaching how to make it myself
I think the bulk when doing the corners add to the stability of the bag. It’s a good thing! IMHO! 😆😆😆
Haven't had a chance to get my hands on the jelly vinyl yet, but may try with another vinyl with HTV on the back. Love the boxy bag! And I love this clear vinyl version even more. Great video as always.

I can't wait to try my hand at these next hopefully

You give the best tutorials of anyone hands down! Thanks so much
So super cute 😍 The clear vinyl makes a world of difference. Thank u for sharing. Hv to purchase some vinyl to makes some 🤸
These are sooo adorable. Trying to figure out my Christmas gifts this year - this might be it!!
I just made your other boxy bag tutorial and wrote about it on my blog. Everyone loves them. This version looks awesome!
Super cute! Love how just a little change in the box corner measurements gives it a totally different look. ❤️
I’ve made dozens of boxy bags, I’m excited to try this version now!
This works great. It’s just great. And I made one from cork and it worked great, too! Thanks for a great pattern!
Love these final bags, thy are really so cute, so nice for gifts..❤❤❤
I made some for Christmas and they were the same pattern but all different shapes. I filled them with gifts for Christmas. So fun! I am getting ready to make more for a weekend getaway with my daughters .
Fab pattern and video 🤩

i am obsessed with this pattern. I've made so many already. Thanks Jess!
Absolutely adorable! Truly enjoy your videos missy!
I need all the clear and jelly vinyls! Jess stop buying it all 😂😂😂 thanks for another great tutorial!
I just made one to carry dog treats. Love it! Thank you for all your amazing tutorials
❤❤ hope all is well with you and family in Florida love all your tutorials😊
Loved your first boxy bag and love this refresh!
Love it! Just made mine today with hot pink jelly vinyl and pink/blue/purple TPU vinyl. Thanks again Jess!
Adorable! I love that taller one! 😍
Hi Jessica, love this project, at this time I don't have vinyl. Can I make this out of fabric 🤔
These are so cute. I have a question on how to adjust the dimensions. My base fabric is 11 3/4 X 7 3/4. Can you explain how I can adjust my top panels. Thank you so much.
Oh, they look so good!! 😍🥰😍🥰
You have great ideas and instruction…..would you possibly know how to or have covered cool shopping bags with vinyl? I have a cool Nordstrom silver bag and a go up old others I use for like get polish storage kit…would be so great to cover the bags either way vinyl somehow.
I also love your videos. Thanks for sharing!
I made my first one today.
I love your tutorials. This is the 3rd project I’m making because of your expert advice. Made the Boxy bag with jelly vinyl and TPU vinyl and the only issue I’m having is the boxing out part. I feel my edges on the TPU, near the jelly, I can see some thread. What can I do?
hope you, your family and friends are all safe and well after the horrendous storms. love this video might do some boxy bags for christmas gifts xx
I have this/that idea in my head
Gracias. Aprendo muchas técnicas con tus tutoriales para mejorar la costura. Bendiciones desde Venezuela. ♥
Love this!! The original is one of my favorite patterns, can't wait to try this version! 😍
Thanks, Jess!
I wonder how much easier it would be to put the zipper in if you did that BEFORE sewing the panels together?
I didn't have the Jelly vinyl t us for the bottom of the box so I use ottertex vinyl but it doesn't hold the shape as well as the Jelly vinyl.
Learned my lesson . Made a bad decision to order what I thought was the right kind of vinyl that is clear with prints on them. Having cut into a few of them I am stuck with them. Beautiful .
Can’t wait to make it

The boxed corners don't line up even - not even close - if there's a correct measurement, please share! Ty!
If you cut your zipper tape just a little longer, the left over might work for the tiny boxy bag and you would have less wasted.
just as the others I love the pouch .
question where oh where does one find this vinyl
Pretty ❤❤
another great tutorial......did I miss it, but what is finished size?

Would you leave the top piece at 4.5" for the 1.5" boxing, as in the first bag?
Curious to know this, too
I just finished one with the 1.5" boxing and I used the 4.25" cutting for the top piece and it turned out great.
Love your videos, all your hints and tips are great
Love these…they are so pretty!
Jess, any chance you can teach us to make the Carlton pattern from Sallie Tomato? Thanks
So if I wanted the dimensions like the purple bag, I don’t need to cut the top down a quarter of an inch to make the seams match?

Hello Jess
I thoroughly enjoy your tutorials and now have my friend hooked.
Would you please let me know where you get the lighter you use to burn threads? Thank you!😊
So cute!
Jess … I like your lighter …I can’t find it on Amazon , where did you buy it ?

I would like to make a boxy vinyl bag , so thanks for link for jelly vinyl.
Never seen jelly vinyl.
Thank you
Love these !!!❤
Love the bowl hugger
A tutorial would be great
Love watching your channel
Thanks for your time
I hope I can find some clear vinyl at SME. These would make amazing X-mas gifts 😀
Where can I get the Chicago screws? Thank you
Would you have a template set for this size of the boxy bag.
Where did you get your cutting mat I love that mat? I would like to get one.
Great bag!
Do you have the measurements for the clear lining only to make until I can score a template? Is the measurements the same for the lining as the lining you would use for your original fabric boxy bag to be able to be able to make the single clear version?
Question. What pattern would you use if using both fabric and clear vinyl? Clear for the top and fabric for the bottom. Thanks.
Looks cool.
love this!! ❤️ thanks for sharing.
I love these but you don’t get much clear vinyl in the uk 😢
Just wondering why you never use a Teflon foot to deal with sticky vinyl and the wrong side of waterproof canvas?
If you used Teflon foot , it would help you a lot 😊
Can this be done with regular vinyl on the whole thing, or should I use your original tutorial.
Hi, what is the finished size for this? Thanks
What is the cutting matt brand and where to buy it? Thanks for all of your tutorials, Jess!
I would definitely buy templates for this! Do you plan on making them?

Hello everyone!
i need some help figuring out how to do the bottom part of this bag if i don't have jelly vinyl for it, just regular vinyl, and i don't like the baking of it because it shows through the upper, clear part
Help Vinyl to vinyl box my threads coil up and won’t sew help!
If I make the bag 10”x12”, will the top be 5”X5” or 4.75”x4.75”? All clear vinyl
What type of thread do you use?
Oh my got vinyl is such a workout, but I love the bag! Thank you for your tips😄!
Why can't you add the zipper to the top panels first then add the bottom piece? It might make the process easier.
Has anyone found any UK stockists of clear vinyl? I’m finding bits and pieces but nothing substantial!
Where do you get your bag tags?
Love ❤ it
Sew cute!!
Where are you getting this vinyl?
When you were sewing it as a flat bag before you boxed the corners that even would of been a good look as a flat clear vinyl bag like that as well
