I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 13 years ago. However, my family has already began their DNA testing for EDS and it is positive. My doctor really doesn't do anythinexept refer me to others to &Check my sugar levels & Cholesterol (and make me feel guilty), My sister is a great nursshe is the one who figured out that I must Also also have EDS, the dots connect, I am just awaiting authorization for my DNA test. Sony for the long explanation.
I was told that POTS symptoms are caused by EDS because the connective tissues that make up your blood vessels are weak, so they do not constrict as well as they should when you stand up. This makes sense if the lightheadedness is simply a symptom of EDS, but not as a separate diagnosis. (Maybe all of us EDSers do not have POTS, we just have weak vessels because of our EDS, and this causes the same main symptom as POTS?
EDS ismore of a comorbitity and an aggravating factor than a cause. Pots is more complex than just poor vasoconstriction. I reccomend watching Dr Brent Goodmans presentation at theb2020 dysautonomia international conference.
Passing out POOP is the
Worse..my stomach/colon

Thank you! You explained it to where I understand & now I know I was misdiagnosed by my heart doctor. Time to go back...
Which diagnosis were you given by your doctor? Hope you find out what is going on!

People without EDS probably had neurological cause of POTS, whereas eds is is a physical cause.
