Yes you could. The paths to nulls script that ships with after effects will let you tie a line to nulls that you can then parent to anything you'd like.

Bro, mind to ask is there a way to make a line attach to another line in the middle, which isnt both the starting point and ending point?
You can link start point and end point with two point motion tracker to make and automatic lightsaber

Hi, Jake! Can you make different preview for videos? For example, if effect from Generate category you can make Red preview etc.
Similar to VideoCopilot Saber
Only in its most basic form. Saber is so much more capable and since it's free, absolutely worth using in most cases.
