There’s nothing like that late 70’s/early 80’s tv show music. I love Jazz’s theme for this reason.
Real instruments with melodies, jazz loops, piano riffs, bass grooves and harmonies. The best!!
That tune (Autobop, or at least parts of it) predates Transformers. It was previously used in Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. Very first episode, in fact. I couldn't tell you if it was used before that. Hopefully, there are no rights issues with this particular track. But don't say anything... I don't want the lawyers to edit my childhood like it was an episode of WKRP.
@@scottmcallister3184 well, they were both produced in part by Marvel as they had the comic rights to both properties. Marvel had a whole animated television department back then and most of their shows reused the same music.

This music gave so much depth to the series. As a kid I didn’t realize how much this music affected my attention to what was going on.

Facts on that on keeping the kids attention because back then my attention span was short and them having the music kept me at attention straight up
@@thekaiser4333 He was referring to the fact that as a kid he was less concerned about focusing on the finer details of the music and how essential it is. Kids might have sharper eyes and ears, but they lack the analytical observation skills that comes with age and experience.

It’s even got a bit of a jazzy and espionage vibe to it, I like it. I didn’t grow up with transformers G1 (because I wasn’t born in the 80s I was born in 2000) but I do like this show a lot, and this franchise is definitely a favorite of mine among pop culture

Sadly it's an incomplete track. As memorable as that bit is, the sequence that comes after it is pretty dang cool.

I see more than one video with this specific split, so it might be that way on the actual official soundtrack
@@Unknown-hb3id I think they wrote that knowing they would use it looped for however long they needed it. That’s probably why it’s short and ends abruptly.

That's the whole reason the ending has that weird part in the tune - since they looped it strangely

Facts!!!!!!
One of the things I loved about this show was the score. They got professional musicians and conductors to put together these pieces for an animated show and done well. Some very emotional. So with that said, you take a young audience and introduce them to characters that they grow to love and add a good memorable score that seems safe and emotional for connection, then introduce a feature film with same characters that you’ve become fond of and familiar with and all the nostalgia from the series with its score, but then drop in a serious dose of reality and mortality, backed up with a harder soundtrack and progressive metal score. Thats pretty hardcore, man. Anyway, as traumatizing as it was back in ‘86, I loved every minute of it all and its lasted for decades now. Its a shame that Hollywood jacked this one up with all of the potential that could have made this franchise epic if it was in the right hands.
Whenever I hear the opening theme, I get goosebumps, I always loved it and I will continue to love it, because TRANSFORMERS are more than meets the eye!

This soundtrack is def a masterpiece, I've always found it to be one of the best ever. I love the arrangements, how the composers rendered the diverse moments / feelings and movements while "citing" the main theme here and there, their choices about which instruments to use for a certain "situation"... Also the blend they've made from diverse musical styles results in a huge and clever display of musical greatness and fine taste. A work like this one has truly nothing to envy about any million-dollar budget movie coming from H(e)llywood or elsewhere. Hasn't it?

Maybe it's partly nostalgia talking, but a lot of these tracks evoke some genuine emotion. It's a well written animated soundtrack in my opinion. It always carried the stories very well. Nice to finally be able to listen to just the music without dialogue over the top of it and just appreciate the music.
I love this show's OST. Its nostalgic, but also timeless, solid, and charming.

The opening theme gives me a type of vibe I can’t really explain. I wasn’t alive when this was on g1 was airing but my dad loved transformers and used to watch it when he was little. It’s a little thing I can share with him.

I missed this some much! This is clearly what is missing in today’s animation. It was like magic to me as a kid. Marvel comics story telling; the voice acting; the characters with personalities; the music all ties together. It made a thirty minute cartoon so epic. I must admit that I do prefer the G1 soundtrack
This was the one series where Johnny Douglas and Rob Walsh out did themselves. The Season 1 soundtrack is what defined the series. As for the show itself, it had a writing style that separated it from many American animated series especially during the 80's & had a large & diverse cast. Little did Hasbro know the potential it would have. It is what helped Sunbow and Marvel Productions (along with "G.I. Joe," "Jem," & "My Little Pony") become viable competitors to Hanna-Barbera & dethrone it from dominance.
1970s/80s background music is amazing. This sounds like it's out of some kind of noir detective thriller that ends up going from L.A. to Italy.
I used to watch this show as a child. As a 16 year old (almost 17) I still love this show to this day. Especially the main soundtrack.
It's so weird hearing these songs in clear quality.
I got here from a video about a composer saying how the original theme was paced weirdly, only to find out from an audio engineer who said that the song was spliced awkwardly to fit with the air time.
I’d say that the season 1 soundtrack is my favorite- the way that some of the tracks are so versatile astounds me. Some parts of the songs are just standard, kinda cheesy sounding 70s-80s cartoon music, but you also get a lot of variety in the general vibes and tone of the songs too- some, like “life”, the first half of “facing disaster”, and the bassoon part of “Decepticon drama” manage to legitimately sound eerie and offputting, while “explore ! Repair !” Encapsulates the sort of feelings you would imagine exploring an alien world for the first time- much like the autobots and decepticons were on earth. The season 1 OST really just feels appropriate for the tension and confusion found throughout season 1, as the marooned cybertronian factions on earth were exploring their new environment and picking back up a war that had been on hold for millions of years.

Season 1 G1 Transformers was possibly the greatest cartoon series ever. The stories, dialog, music, animation, characters...it was damn near perfection.
Only flaw was the drawings tbh

WOW!!! Brings back sooo many memories! G1 TF in my opinion was one of the greatest animated series of all time. Very underrated and well produced, even if produced to sell toys. The score was a character in itself. The original series still reigns as the best and none of the remakes or live action movies even comes close to the feeling and character of this series. I still think they missed the mark even with the Bumblebee movie. The live action movies could have been epic if it was in the right hands.

You can find Jazz soundtrack on some old Spiderman and friends episodes especially when there's a party going on.
More like you can find this "Spider-Man" track on "Amazing Friends" and "Transformers". It doesn't really belong here, despite its ubiquity on this series (they weren't paying anyone to create a new track for "radio" or "dance club" scenes). The "Cold Slither" instrumental is in this series too, but it's properly not included, because it belongs in "G.I. Joe".

This soundtrack definitely added a lot to the series, can’t imagine what it’d be like without it.
It’s very nostalgic hearing it again. Wasn’t alive when the series was new, but watched it a lot as a kid since they reran the whole thing on the HUB network alongside TF Prime in the early 2010s. It’s a great show and holds up pretty well I’d say.

Love this soundtrack there’s a theme missing from season 1 and 2 that used to play a lot. You can hear it heavy metal war when prime and megatron begin to shake hands and fight
