something similar ive read is Her body and other parties by Maria Carmen Machado, also queer feminist horror short stories collection with magical realism!!
Bestiary by K. Ming Chang was my favorite read last year, I've had Gods of Want on my shelf since Christmas but I haven't picked it up yet... your thoughts made me decide it's definitely time! I loved Fruiting Bodies also, such a memorable and original read. Fantastic list!!!
hey sunny! i loved sarahland and shit cassandra saw! obviously homesick for another world is a great one as well :) fruiting bodies is in the next round of books i pick up from the library 🍇
I read Things to do When Youre Goth in the Country and its my favorite short story collection ever!! Could you maybe tell me which of these is more similar to it? Cause I'm looking for a collection that makes me feel the same way 😭 (also, I read Fruiting Bodies recently and unfortunately didnt love it very much 😖 i think i really liked half of the stories and disliked the rest)
I mention this in my favorites of the year part 1 video but probably the most comparable title to goth in the country would be out there by Kate folk?? Chavisa woods is on a different level entirely though. thank you so much for watching and taking my book recs! I appreciate you 🩷
I always appreciate seeing short story recommendations. These look really amazing and I cannot wait to read one.
thank you so much!! I really appreciate it and hope you enjoy your read :)
