14:35 Yes, absolutely! I remember having no problem with the TR controls whatsoever. Which I cannot say about some other later popular games. I played it on PC though with keyboard only, I didn't have a console. It was very simple, you didn't even have to use a mouse as I remember ( it's been a while sincle I played these). Also, Merry Christmas!😊
Just started Stellar Blade today and am enjoying it so far. The Soul Reaver remasters are on my to play list in the coming months. Haven't played those games since they released on the PS1 and am looking forward to revisiting.
I will definitely be checking out Tomb Raider 1-3 remastered. Been playing original Turok on my PS4 1&2, still need 3 but never got a chance to play the Tomb Raider games and you always talk highly of them so I'll give it a shot. (OLD GAMES REIGN SUPREME). Definitely going to check out Soul Reaver. I saw Razorfist playing it the other day and it looks pretty cool. Metroid Dread is a no brainer. I hear it being one of the best Metroid games out there, and been on my wishlist for a while. Now that I got some extra cash I got in Christmas, going to start shopping for some games. Specifically for my PS4 Pro & my Nintendo Switch OLED. Thanks for the recommendations 🙏 had a great Christmas, hope you did as well.
End of year gaming recap :) I loved the TR Remasters, I did manage to play most of the originals before they came out, too. I really enjoyed Helldivers 2, mostly with my bro in law. Do you think Deadlock will end up on consoles when it gets released? Legacy of Kain remasters are so good, too. Little buggy here and there, but it's a challenge to figure out where to go and how to progress. NO HINTS!!!!
I love Unicorn Overlord, I spent over 500 hours on the Switch version. I'll eventually get the PS5 version & put in about 40 since that's how long it'll take me to beat it. I put over 400 on the arena mode.
Helldivers 2, .... For Democracy!.... Elite Dangerous(4000+hrs...not all in one year of course...), Enshrouded, Dragons Dogma 2. Love you Bible channel btw!
I’ve mostly been playing multiplayer games this year with some single player ones sprinkled in, especially earlier in the year. Helldivers 2 has been amazing and Black Ops 6 with the boys is surprisingly fun. And is scooped Diablo IV up for $10 at GameStop and have been having a surprisingly fun time with it. Single player-wise I played through God of War and Ragnarok. Great time. Played the Last of Us remake too. Also Jedi Survivor. Looking forward to the third game in the series. Those games are really well made. Thoroughly enjoyed the Crisis Core remake. Also played Space Marine 2. Also am replaying the first Mass Effect now and hoping to play through the entire trilogy (finally). This coming year I really want to get to those long-shelved games and series that I’ve neglected but always wanted to play/finish. Loved Kingdom Hearts as a kid but never have been able to finish Chain of Memories and it honestly feels like a chore. Want to finally beat it so I can get through the rest of them. Also I’m thinking Persona 4 Golden, Chrono Trigger, and either Final Fantasy IV or VII. I’ve played many but finished none. I’d like to change that.
I started replaying Persona 5 ironically in the last few months and reignited my love of the game. I have been tempted to try the new P3 but i've gotten many mixed reviews/opinions so i havent gotten it quite yet.
I would recommend Persona 4 before playing Persona 3. Persona 4 is an easier game in general and has better relationship events. The only thing I don't like about Persona 4 is the overall plot isn't as exciting/mysterious as 3, too simple.
All of the Persona games are really good - if you enjoyed 5, I'd recommend going back to 4 (personal favorite) and 3, the remaster of which was released this year (And is darker, but amazingly well written). Merry Christmas, Melonie. Stay amazing.
Persona is one of those series where the older games get more and more primitive/clunky, so it's best to play in reverse order. The older the game the more likely it is to get annihilated by random RNG instant kill moves found often enough in 3, so always remember to save often.
To be honest whats stopped me from playing the older games is from what I saw the dungeons had lackluster random generation. Like I'm sure maybe the story is better but the procedural generation needs to have a lot too it to not feel lifeless for me. I'm not saying every dungeon is momentos, there is atleast different themes but it puts me off a fair bit since I wasn't keen on that in P5.
What's stopped me from playing the older games is the dungeons. Procedural generation has to have a lot of meat on the bone for it to be done right in my opinion and from what I saw it seemed lackluster. I'm sure the story is better and maybe even the combat is somewhat more tactical but for me dungeons are a big part of turn based games. I'm not saying every dungeon is mementos, there is atleast different themes but that was a thing that really dragged in P5, so I don't personally want to go back.
I’ve only played 3 games this year so my list is: 3. Tomb Raider Remasters. Was great revisiting and reliving some of my greatest childhood gaming memories. Expertly done. 2. Metaphor: ReFantazio. It’s Persona in an adult medieval setting, with amazing characters. It’s perfect. One of the best games I’ve ever played. 1. Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth. I understand it’s not the greatest game for a lot of people, but the original is my favorite game of all time, so it was just an incredibly personal experience for me.
I don't think I played much that is actually new this year, almost everything I played was either a remaster, an old game, or something that was in early access already. My main obsession has been Satisfactory, not everyone's cup of tea but for an engineer like me it's addicting. The Paper Mario TTYD remaster is quite good, if you ignore the whole Vivian problem. Also in that vein I played Mario + Rabbids 2, it has some ups and downs from the first game but overall is quite fun. This year was definitely a year of Metroidvanias for me, though. I finally finished Grime, enjoyed 9 Years of Shadow, and I've been wrapping up the year with a hard-mode revisit to Bloodstained. I would put Blasphemous 2 on my list but honestly, it was pretty disappointing. Maybe after it gets fleshed out with more DLC.
My top 5 games I've played this year, aren't exactly new. So here we go... 1) Tomb Raider Trilogy Remastered My comment: I actually got to finally enjoy the Tomb Raider trilogy better than I did when I was a teenager. I think the upgrade in visuals certainly helps. I actually bought this game twice. Once for the PS4 before I finished building my gaming PC and twice when I jump at the chance to buy it on Steam. 2) Dead Or Alive 6 My comment: By far the best fighting game I've ever played. I bought the PC version, since I finished building my gaming PC in 2024. I actually played DOA6 before on a PS4, but I felt that the PC version is better, especially since I can play it in 4K now. 3) Sonic And All-Stars Racing Transformed My comment: I enjoy this game. Lots of fun to be had. I have the physical copy for the Xbox 360 and the digital version for Steam. So I've been playing the Steam version a lot. 4) Streets Of Rage 4 My comment: I actually own both the PS4 version(Physically) and Steam version. I love the mods for the Steam version. 5) Alex Jones NWO Wars My comment: I never thought I would get a chance to play this game. It ended up being the first Steam game I own for my gaming PC, alongside "Acquitted".
This year was a banger: FF7 Rebirth, Elden Ring DLC, Space Marine 2, Black Myth Wukong, Path of Exile 2, Astro Bot, Hell Divers 2, Zelda Echo, Tekken 8, Path of the Goddess, Hades 2. There isn't enough time in a day to play them all. Next year is going to be even crazier. At the top of my list is Monster Hunter Wilds, then Death Stranding 2, Kingdom Come 2, Metal Gear Delta, Metroid 4, Mafia, Light no Fire, 2XKO, and everyone's favorite GTA6 to name a few.
Ngl its been so long since ive seen you put out a video like this i was starting to lose hope. I know your channel is social commentary orientated, but this video put a big smile on my face
Indiana Jones game was a surprised hit for me. I really thought it would stink, but was blown away how much fun I had, and how well it was optimized. Also had a surprising amount of biblical lore/references in it
@@zenjelly7882 I have awful taste for enjoying a game that is A) well made B) had a lot of content and puzzles C) respected the lore of Indiana Jones/tried to really capture what it was like to be Indy unlike the recent movie, and D) has universal positive praise from gamers? Please tell me why this game is horrible? If you didn’t like it that’s fine, but this honestly sounds like a bitter troll comment
Melonie, I hoped you had a wonderful Christmas. As for my favorite game it has to be Space Marine 2 Warhammer 40k. I agree PS1 and PS2 were the great gaming era, I also love the SNES, Sega Mega drive, Commodore 64 and Atari. Oh god I am old, LOL
That is a good top 5 for sure. I think you'll enjoy Metroid Prime when you get to it, that & the 2nd one kept me busy for a bit. I didn't try out Metroid Dread, but the art looked amazing watching video demos. Another one you may want to try out if you haven't already is Turok 1 & 2 from n64. Very nice games, & I think it took me a bit to get used to the aiming system, that was a hoot & a hollar. Devil May Cry was also one of my fav from ps2 that I never finished, but would log on it to mess around & what not. Thank you for the video, game on!
Great video. I really don’t find a lot of games that I’m interested in, but I am open minded. I actually just played Dragon Age Origins/Awakening, and am alternating between the Dragon Age and Mass Effect games. Very fulfilling.
I only grew up with the first Tomb Raider so it was such a blast getting the platinum trophy for the remaster this year. I plan to play 2 and 3 in 2025 to see what I missed all those years ago.
I played through Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary edition, And Alan Wake 2 twice, along with all the DLCs Daymare 1994: SandCastle, Silent Hill 2 remake. All really great games. I’m also playing through TR 1-3.
Persona 3 fes my favorite persona on ps2. If you like Perona 5 u should play Metaphor Refantazio.... Awesome game. I'm also with Mel I love turned based and stories very important to me. Wish everyone a happy new year.
When you do reviews of multiple games, movies, etc. chapters are more appealing to viewers. You will get more views because some people may only be interested in one game, and don't want to bother finding it in the vid.
A game that really surprised me was Penny's Big Breakaway. Its a 3d platformer with a yo-yo as a central mechanic. Another game I really enjoyed was Warhammer 40k Boltgun after getting the platinum for Space Marine 2. Its a boomer shooter with a 40k skin. Played it on exterminatus and had a blast.
Armored Core 6 (2023) was a blast for me this year, but I mainly played co-op games with my brother, like Space Marine 2 and WWZ. Also played Tekken 8 and Wukong. Replayed Turok, Jak & Daxter plus Bully. TR trilogy was a must. Now I'm on a quest to rediscover old gems while waiting for Darkness, but I still have to play Soul Reaver 1-2 Remastered. Hopefully, the classy Rise of the Ronin and the stylish Stellar Blade release for PC in 2025.
The games that I played that hooked me the most were XCOM: Enemy Within and Stellaris. Also played Batman Arkham Asylum and CoD Black Ops for the zombies mode along with a mod for C&C: Generals called Rise of the Reds.
I'm a little older, so for me, playing the remasters of Final Fantasy I and Final Fantasy II (100% cheevos, of course lol) was a blast this year. The two FAR games were great too.
Stellar Blade was my personal game of the year. But Astrobot, Silent Hill 2, Soul Reaver remasters, Tomb Raider remasters, Rise of the Ronin, Space Marine 2 and Final Fantasy Rebirth were also winners with me. I’ve also recently discovered Rage 2 (older FPS game) and have been enjoying that the last couple of days.
Haven't played Saber's Space Marine 2 or Sonic X Shadows yet but my top games for this year since we can pick games from other years I got one from a few years ago that got very little love so my list is Rise of the Ronin, Silent Hill 2 (as an OG fan I love it), Astro Bot, Metaphor, & Guardians of the Galaxy (from 2021 which was D.O.A. thanks to Crystal M*th's crappy Avengers game... Yes, I'm still bitter). P.S. You should play Persona 3 then Metaphor next.
I'm looking forward to 2025 with the release of the Tomb Raider IV-VI remaster as well as other remasters/remakes such as MGS Delta and Donkey Kong Returns and also the long awaited Metroid Prime 4 Beyond.
My friends and I were playing Soul reaver remastered yesterday when we had a power outage(normal in my country). When it came back, we realised we hadn't saved the game, so all that progress was lost. Instead of getting angry, we all burst out laughing as this took us 20 years back where this was normal, before autosaves became a thing. Man, that was a nostalgic moment, and I thank the developers of these remasters for that golden moment.
This is a good list. My top game this year is Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. It love the combat, exploration, and puzzles. It also captures the feel of the movies really well. Red Dead Redemption 1 is a close second.
If you choose the right skills it makes persona 5 easy even on the hardest level. If you like turn based jrpg which is also my favorite genre try sea of stars great throwback to old jrpgs, my favorite has been the first descendant and eiyuden chronicles rising and hundred heroes
Your Number one pick is awesome I bought the Tomb Raider Remasters the day one release Steam pc back in 1996 I was only 11 years old with a very old weak pc that could not run those games I only got a Pentium 3 pc as a Christmas gift back in December 1999 to play these games for the first time was amazing now me at 39 years old
Not in any particular order but Stellar blade, the tomb raider remasters (thank you for getting me into these I don’t think I would have checked them out if you didn’t constantly mention your love for the series), Syberia: the world before, bayonetta origins and can I put elden ring shadow of the erdtree? 2024 hasn’t been too good for games honestly. I’m still working on my back catalogue also.
yooo persona is always awesome and ngl, im kinda interested to see you go more into the series but oh well. That said, are you currently playing the P5 Royal version on your offtime? You get about 20 or so more hours of content, 2 extra characters to explore, alongside a better soundtrack imo than the base game. And have you played the spinoffs like strikers and tactica? I think youd enjoy those games as well if you wanna see more character interaction. Also, since you're learning lead electric guitar, i recommend learning some of the game's songs. while challenging, its a fun soundtrack to play along to!
I remember having a demo disc for the original Playstation that had Soul Reaver on it. I thought it was an awesome game even back then, but never purchased the full version. I guess now is the time to have that experience with the remaster.
I liked revisiting injustice 2. A running gag I would do is pitch captain cold against everybody else because he is one of my least favorite dc villains. I also enjoyed revisiting the first Lego Indiana Jones game. I just have very fond memories playing it and I was just glad to revisit those good times. And my third and final game was the original version of resident evil 4. Even though 5 is my personal favorite, I liked being able to visit one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time. Those were my top 3 for 2024.
I went on to play the old Tomb Raider games some time ago before the remaster was released, really good. I didn't even know they were going to make them lol
I don’t really have a top 5, but games I’ve played that I really love is Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishments Redux, Sherlock Holmes The Devil’s Daughter, Spongebob Squarepants Battle for Bikini Bottom and Cosmic Shake, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger HD (which I played on PS2 a long time ago and it’s as good as I remember it), Kao the Kangaroo, The Journey Down, Chrono Cross, and Ace Attorney.
I think the games I had the most fun with this year were Shadow of the Erdtree, Riven, Helldivers 2, Rise of the Golden Idol, Batman: Arkham Shadow, and of course the Tomb Raider remaster. It wasn't a 2024 game but the game I ended up playing the most was Total War: Attila. So addicting!
I've mostly been playing Diablo 4 with some Stellar Blade in between seasons but lately, I've been playing Path of Exile. I'm not sold on that one yet. In the end, though, I love D4 even with its many, many, many flaws.
Call it a late Christmas gift . Enjoy the money and spend it well. Love your Bible Time channel too .

I played it on PC though with keyboard only, I didn't have a console. It was very simple, you didn't even have to use a mouse as I remember ( it's been a while sincle I played these).
Also, Merry Christmas!😊
Awesome this will be good God you Melonie
End of year gaming recap :)
I loved the TR Remasters, I did manage to play most of the originals before they came out, too.
Great job, how's your Christmas melonie?
Legacy of Kain and Tomb Raider!! Heck of a list, Melonie!
I had a blast with Stellar Blade, Unicorn Overlord, Astro Bot and Lies of P as well 🔥
Stellar Blade, Unicorn Overlord, and Lies of P were amazing! 🤩
I love Unicorn Overlord, I spent over 500 hours on the Switch version. I'll eventually get the PS5 version & put in about 40 since that's how long it'll take me to beat it. I put over 400 on the arena mode.
Weird, I was expecting Dragon Age: The Veilguard to be Melonie's favourite game of the year.
Favorite love to hate is a different category at this year's awards.
How was Dustborn not in her top 5 🤯
Solid list. The remasters are excellent. I hope to see more next year.
@ No you don’t.
I’ve only played 3 games this year so my list is:
Helldivers 2, space marine II, and the shadow of the colossus remastered; these are what I've played the most this year.
I love Soul Reaver but never played the remastered version.
My top 5 games I've played this year, aren't exactly new. So here we go...
1) Tomb Raider Trilogy Remastered
My comment: I actually got to finally enjoy the Tomb Raider trilogy better than I did when I was a teenager. I think the upgrade in visuals certainly helps. I actually bought this game twice. Once for the PS4 before I finished building my gaming PC and twice when I jump at the chance to buy it on Steam.
2) Dead Or Alive 6
My comment: By far the best fighting game I've ever played. I bought the PC version, since I finished building my gaming PC in 2024. I actually played DOA6 before on a PS4, but I felt that the PC version is better, especially since I can play it in 4K now.
3) Sonic And All-Stars Racing Transformed
My comment: I enjoy this game. Lots of fun to be had. I have the physical copy for the Xbox 360 and the digital version for Steam. So I've been playing the Steam version a lot.
4) Streets Of Rage 4
My comment: I actually own both the PS4 version(Physically) and Steam version. I love the mods for the Steam version.
5) Alex Jones NWO Wars
My comment: I never thought I would get a chance to play this game.
Splinter Cell: Conviction
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition
Armored Core 6
Space Marine 2
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
Ngl its been so long since ive seen you put out a video like this i was starting to lose hope. I know your channel is social commentary orientated, but this video put a big smile on my face
Indiana Jones game was a surprised hit for me. I really thought it would stink, but was blown away how much fun I had, and how well it was optimized. Also had a surprising amount of biblical lore/references in it
Yeah, I didn't expect to like it either, but it's actually fun!
Should I buy it when it released on PS5 next year?
You have awful taste.
@@zenjelly7882 What didn't you like about it? Haven't bought it or played it, but its surprisingly good feedback has me interested
Metroid Dread is one of my fav all time games. Prime Remastered is good as well.. haven't defeated it yet. Happy holidays!
Happy New Year my love 😘
Have a happy holidays Melonie Mac Go Boom
Nice FFK shirt! Check out Impending Doom for a heavier tone.
All up in the Playstation on PC games all year.
prepping for FF7Rb with FF7R atm
Great video. I really don’t find a lot of games that I’m interested in, but I am open minded.
I actually just played Dragon Age Origins/Awakening, and am alternating between the Dragon Age and Mass Effect games.
Very fulfilling.
I only grew up with the first Tomb Raider so it was such a blast getting the platinum trophy for the remaster this year. I plan to play 2 and 3 in 2025 to see what I missed all those years ago.
The Tomb Raider Remasters are my top game(s) of 2024, too! Actually, they're the only games I've played all year! They are JUST THAT GOOD!
Cool ! You love classic game, they’re the best (A-game)!
Currently playing legacy of Kian blood omen 2. Eventually switching back to the soul reaver games and uploading them to my channel.
I played through Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary edition, And Alan Wake 2 twice, along with all the DLCs Daymare 1994: SandCastle, Silent Hill 2 remake. All really great games. I’m also playing through TR 1-3.
Love Mel talking about things she finds fun. She needs a break from crazy ppl too sometimes.
Played it on exterminatus and had a blast.
this year was excellent for indie games - Yellow taxi goes vroom, Manor lords, Balatro, Crow country, animal well, Crypt Custodian, Nine Sols, Mullet Madjack, Steamworld Heist 2 (my favourite), Sumerian Six, The Plucky Squire, Pepper Grinder, Drova - Forsaken Kine ect
The games I enjoyed the most this year were Space Marine 2 and Stellar Blade.
You should give those a shot. 😉👍
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle...best game I've played in a long time. It's like an 80's Indiana Jones movie we never got. Amazing cinematics!
It's always fun hearing and seeing your reviews
I'm looking forward to 2025 with the release of the Tomb Raider IV-VI remaster as well as other remasters/remakes such as MGS Delta and Donkey Kong Returns and also the long awaited Metroid Prime 4 Beyond.
Merry Christmas Melonie Mac!!
1. Dragons dogma 2
2. FF7 rebirth
3. Yakuza 8
4. Indiana jones
5. Rise of the ronin
My top 5 this year:
Wizard of Legend, finally played the Mass Effect series, Dragon's Dogma 2, Finally playing Elden Ring, and Marvel Rivals
This is a good list. My top game this year is Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. It love the combat, exploration, and puzzles. It also captures the feel of the movies really well. Red Dead Redemption 1 is a close second.
Ya, but Disney.
Melonie is a ten a true 10. She is beautiful and truly great at games.
Stellar Blade.... This was the first new game I played for years and I loved it.
I've been playing on The Crew Motorfest lately as I like to play racing games a lot. Lol
If you choose the right skills it makes persona 5 easy even on the hardest level. If you like turn based jrpg which is also my favorite genre try sea of stars great throwback to old jrpgs, my favorite has been the first descendant and eiyuden chronicles rising and hundred heroes
Merry Christmas Melanie ❤ Thanks for your hard work 🎉
Your Number one pick is awesome I bought the Tomb Raider Remasters the day one release Steam pc back in 1996 I was only 11 years old with a very old weak pc that could not run those games I only got a Pentium 3 pc as a Christmas gift back in December 1999 to play these games for the first time was amazing now me at 39 years old
I finally got a PS5. Yet, NONE of the games that were released this year look good at all.
Have a good next year
Persona 3 Reload is the first game i started with and love it😂 gotta finish it
Not in any particular order but
Stellar blade, the tomb raider remasters (thank you for getting me into these I don’t think I would have checked them out if you didn’t constantly mention your love for the series), Syberia: the world before, bayonetta origins and can I put elden ring shadow of the erdtree? 2024 hasn’t been too good for games honestly. I’m still working on my back catalogue also.
Games i played this year: diablo1, final fantasy 6,
Hearthstone. Old school.
yooo persona is always awesome and ngl, im kinda interested to see you go more into the series but oh well.
My favourite ones i've played this year were re4, mgs rising, marvel rivals
Watching this after watching the first half of an old stream you were on with HeelvsBabyface.
I remember having a demo disc for the original Playstation that had Soul Reaver on it. I thought it was an awesome game even back then, but never purchased the full version. I guess now is the time to have that experience with the remaster.
Hopefully these games will go on sale soon! I never buy anything at full price.
For me it's Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered and Tekken 8 are my most played games of 2024.
Top 5 PLAYED for me this year
deus ex mankind divided
Eiyuden chronicles: Hundred heroes
Jedi survivor
Dragons Dogma 2
Granblue Fantasy Relink
