  • MIG-29 - Planting a new Flag! - From the Pilots Seat.
    Flying a MIG-29 belonged to one of our "once in a lifetime" aviation adventures. Chasing clouds, going to high altitude and feeling the g-forces!
    Like arranged for Jez from England, who came to our site more than 6 months before his flight. For his 50th birthday, he wanted to have something awesome!
    And we did that what we could do best: satisfied him totally.
    The video is an edited version for RUclips, presenting the flight in 7 different camera angles.

      +hovermotion Thanks for your comment. It still is a lot of work to provide to put only one in a backseat of such a jet. When backseaters are finally strapped in and they recognize well their surrounding space, they will understand it more even like before. Thanks for the note about the edit. Yes, this footage belongs to one of the best ones what we got in more than a decade of flying high performance fighter jets.

    This fighter jet is too damn pretty! Dassault once stated "For an aircraft to fly well, it must be beautiful", I make his words mine! Earth seems so perfect from up above too, I can only imagine what God thought when it was all done (no religious war intended, please)

    Pierre Rajau, for some reason it is not possible to reply to your comment or give you thumbs up. Thanks for your nice note here. Aviators always have special flights with us. Also to you, happy landings always!

    Hi, I have a question for you.
    What kind of mount did you use on the helmet camera? Is it just the strap or you need adhesive tape under the plastic mount and around the strap? I'm planning to mount a camera to the flight helmet too and I'm kind of afraid that it would slip during some maneuvers.
    I have only the mount and some 3M tapes at the moment.

    • @Space-Affairs
      @Space-Affairs  8 лет назад

      Sorry to answer very late. We do use the helmet straps for fixing the camera, but also we do use to mount the strap on the helmet adhesive tape. It works well, also under G-forces as you see.

    The plane is really very styled. I see yet many rivets on fuselage parts, is it a mean to facilitate repairs, or is it impossible to avoid them rivets ? (I know not much on planes construction so this is not a tentative to criticize)
    What is that thing that lowers in front of the copilot at landing and take off ?
    Regards

      Thats a periscope. This is a 2-seater training aircraft, flight instructor is sitting second position and with the periscope you can look ahead the canopy by take-off and landing. And a military fighter jet looks always different to other aircrafts. Looking always more older and repairs are mostly not covered like by the airliners so that passengers don't see it. Erase the color and it will look the same. ;)

    The rapid beats signal , stall or some height attained above the landing space ?
    I was wondering how can the plane fly almost vertical in turns without loosing altitude, is this mostly due to the engine power ?

    • @Space-Affairs
      @Space-Affairs  8 лет назад

      Yes, you are right. Only by engine control by the pilot.

    • @Space-Affairs
      @Space-Affairs  8 лет назад

      Not yet. We flown MIG-21/MIG-25/MIG-31/SU-27. Not easy to find a really serious possibility on planet Earth to provide such flights on high level of quality and safeness. We still wait since more than 12 years on the first suborbital rides, this will be a game changer. But it is a long way to Laramie. Such a flight is starting at 17,250.00 Euro incl. ground & cockpit video. Video installation with six more cams like in this video is an addon.

    • @Space-Affairs
      @Space-Affairs  8 лет назад

      +Stuart Hughes Yes. We flown the Foxhound up to 2009, then the jet was grounded because the engines running out of guarantee for lifetime. Video is also on the channel, look into the playlist of "Aviation".
