That's a tough one for me , Batman's my favourite hero but to be honest I like more characters in the Marvel universe compared to DC , I also think in terms of the recent movie's Marvel have smashed DC out the park , DC have dropped the ball since the Dark Knight trilogy ✌️
I love both, but DC edges just ahead for me. I prefer their darker tone to their comics and movies. They're more gritty which I enjoy. Just my preference
When the casting was announced it wasn't everyone that wasn't on board. It never fails to amaze that some think an actor can only handle one role. And by definition they act. I remember when a lot of people were saying the same thing about Heath Ledger. They claim they love this director but didn't trust him to cast one of the two most important roles in the film. Fans no nothing until you give it to them
Pattinson has the perfect facial features....hair is a tad bit long but no biggy, perfect Bruce Wayne hair color, and that confidence at the sight of a bomb. He’s gonna do amazing, he’s a really good actor and it’s sad a lot of people only know his twilight role.
He did train and work out there are people on the movie who have said so. The director chose robert cause he is a method actor. Robert puts his all in his roles This batman in his second year, he and alfred built his suit and car together. Im hyped. The director said this movie will be a deep dive into bruce waynes psyche, also he said batman is sorta like a shadow self not exactly multiple personality but you'll see a difference between batman and bruce. The fact that this was only 25% of the film has me hyped. This may be the best batman movie this is the first detective batman movie.
I can totally understand the hype and even though I wasn't feeling it when he was cast, he looked great on the trailer so I'm really looking forward to it!

You noticed Catwoman/Selina Kyle there, it was Paul Dano as The Riddler with the duct-tape, and Colin Farrell - completely unrecognisable - as The Penguin at 1:17 in the trailer and at the end - "This guy's crazy!" I think Matt Reeves is a writer & director who is definitely worth his salt, so I'm definitely on board. I'm glad we're finally getting a detective story for The Batman. I know that '70s noir has been an influence on the film (Chinatown, Taxi Driver, The French Connection), but I'm definitely getting some David Fincher vibes, too (Se7en, Zodiac, Dragon Tattoo).
The trailer looks good and dark. Best batman for me is dark and gritty. Would like to see a Year One or maybe even a true Long Halloween story and then it can lead into Dark Victory. The fight they showed in the trailer made me more optimistic that we will be getting a great Batman film
A trailers doing it's job if it gets you hyped to go see the film . I'm with you Rich , in that I didn't really have any expectations for this film ( I've been disappointed with most of the recent DC efforts ) but this does look good . I will however be staying calm about this as I got excited at all the trailer's for the last Star Wars trilogy & was left disappointed after I saw the movies . Hope this doesn't leave me feeling the same as I'm a big Batman fan 👍✌️
People complained when they cast Keaton as "Bats" back in the day, people complained when they cast Ledger for Joker, people complained when Afleck was cast for Batman V Superman, so far DC and Warner Bros. have a pretty decent track record with these castings...I mean with exception of Kilmer and Clooney but those movies were just a mess all over...ol' Bobby P. will do just fine. I can't lie though, He and Paul Dano did seem like strange choices to me to lead a superhero movie at first, but I am genuinely starting to warm to the idea.
