I'm glad the guy plead guilty. What I don't understand is why Palms served this guy as many drinks as they did and then just said "Don't drive home." They didn't call him a cab, call him an uber or a room to sleep it off in. It would have cost them dozens of dollars. Instead they had some security guards follow him outside and he hid in a bush until they stopped looking and he drove. I'm all for punishing this guy but there needs to be better enforcement of over serving folks and making sure people get home safe, considering that Vegas basically doesn't have reliable public transportation.
He had no money for a cab.

Driving drunk is a decision, not an accident and no difference between driving drunk and shooting a gun into a crowd.
He got a minimum of 16 years? What? He was so drunk he was thrown out of a hotel on the strip. Why didn't he get a ride or take a cab? Because he thought he could handle it. That kind of confidence comes from practice. He's driven drunk before. This time turned into 2 men being run down. We know he got out and got back in his van and left them to die. Can you imagine how many lives he broke down because of his actions?
No money after spending all his money on drinks.
So the criminal tried to flee the scene, compounding the crime even further. Could have attempted to save their lives, but made another thoughtless, callous choice and GOT CAUGHT! GOOD.
Remember that if you cause an accident, people.
