No they didn't. Nobody has been ever sentenced to life (or even 25 years) for smoking weed. The only people sentenced to harsh prison sentences are those who had a multitude of prior violent offenses and/or had amounts that were so high they had to be dealing. Stop spreading misinformation so you can throw a tantrum.

Apologies dont bring back the investors who trusted you their money back. These corporate level executives need to be held responsible more for their infractions, these crimes, at times, get committed 10-15 years before they get prosecuted.

I know a lot of people wish Sam got more time, and there's some good arguments that he should have. But 25 years is not a light sentence, that's federal prison, so he'll have to serve about 20. That's a long time, and he won't get out until he's in his 50s. His life is ruined. And really, if you give him more than that, and just let him out in his 60s, then you're pretty much giving him a life sentence. He would get out as an old man that had been locked up for 30 years and at that point probably wouldn't even be able to work, he'd just be a helpless old man that would probably need to rely on government assistance for the rest of his days. He'll already be alone when he gets out, his parents will be gone, he'll have no friends waiting for him. And he'll owe the government millions, they'll continue to take whatever he has for the rest of his life, he'll never have much money again. And Sam is not well suited for prison, every day of that 20 years will be very difficult for him. I wouldn't even be surprised if he ended things early for himself

What a tragedy! I stand with Sam here, he was "reallocating" money for a better cause...arguing that he used it for a "lavish lifestyle" is ridiculous, he always was humble and prudent in money spending. 13 million mansion (for the WHOLE team) is not an exception. Granted he played the capital game to harshly but I sincerely believe that his effective altruism ideology is based and just imagine how transformative of a change somebody with his mindset could have brought to our society. What a loss!! I m also deeply dissapointed by the public perception only focusing on surface level missmanagement technicalities. Just look at his main competitor Binance...they essentially almost got caught doing the same thing! Also the fact that Caroline so cold-heartedly betrayed him in court is beyond the pale...
