Connor, that is a brilliant wire rig, by far the best I have seen. Thank you. I have been planning to move to Hawaii for several years and finally it looks like I will be able to do so over the next 6-9 months. My plan is to buy a Hobie Oasis and fish it with occasional visiting friends and then just myself, perhaps put 100 Ibs. of sand bags in the front when I am solo for better weight distribution. I also think I'll get an electric motor so that I can troll Nomad lures at 5 MPH. Have you ever tried fishing Nomad lures for Ono? A guy I know in Hawaii, who fishes from a boat trolling about 7 MPH, swears why them for Ono.
When you say fed it through one more time, are you feeding the tag through both the hook eye and the loop of the knot? Thanks for the video BTW. Just getting started on the kayak and you have been a great help.
Mahalo for the tutorial! Question: do you have to crimp it a certain way i.e. crimping all the wire flat or down on top and smush all the strands stacked together on top of each other? Or it doesn't make a difference as long as the crimp is fully crimped?
That’s a great question. I like the crimp it entirely flat (with wire) and have the three strands contact. However, I don’t think the contact is completely necessary with the failsafes built in to the combination crimp and having the correct size crimp for the wire.

Bruh, right on...we have been catching plenty of tuna on wire. It just has to be a clean rig.
Why not the albright from flouro to wire?
I’ve had that connection cut before. The swivel allows for rotation (less line twist) and has a better breaking strength (I use a Uni to swivel)
What pound wire do you prefer? I'll give you my feedback when I get it I'm on the big island

What crimper tool is that? My crimper is thicker then then the sleeve. Gonna try with afw 7x7 wire.
This is just a standard household wire crimper. The basic electrical one
could you catch uku without wire for a double hook rig?
