#5 Winter Trout Flyfishing at Ellerdine Lakes Big 6.4lb Rainbow.

I recently visited Ellerdine Lakes on the 5th January 24 for the first time and it was an excellent day. The conditions were perfect, the fish were high in the water feeding on lots of naturals. It is always good to see fish moving as it motivates you to keep at it. As it had not been stocked for a while I thought the fish would have seen every colour lure, size and pattern you can image so i adopted to different tactics. I pulled lure set up and then a 3 fly washing line with naturals. I ended the day with 6 fish in the net and 4 lost, all came to buzzers and the small black booby on the point apart from the 1 big one that went for the lure.
Lovely fish, great condition, a very wet and muddy bank around the lakes but that's due to all the heavy rain and storms. Lovely staff and great anglers all chatty and sharing patterns etc. If you have not been it is worth the drive as there is plenty of choice in terms of lakes, positions and species to fish for, oh and there are plenty doubles swimming around. #flyfishing #trout #troutfishing #ellerdinelakes #vision #maxcatch
