It's def the second one, day6 always tries to sing live, you can tell how much they love to sing. it's such a pity that these so-called "live music" broadcast shows don't let them sing nor play their instruments live even when they're this talented
I can at least understand not having the live instrument part since setting up all that equipment takes a lot of time and there’s a bunch of groups that need to perform per show.

its so weird and funny making a band lip synch coz what else are they gonna do ? they lit rally only sing and play instruments lol like it makes sense for other idol groups that dance esp. with high intensity performances but this was just too funny. also the fact that they sing live so incredibly well to make them lip synch is a crime

I think it’s definitely the music shows, there are multiple comeback stages pre-sweet chaos where they don’t even get to plug in their instruments to the turned off amps, once you notice you’ll never unsee it but it’s never fault of their own
In situations like these it's really nothing to do with the members or the band and basically entirely out of their control as it's the music show making them lipsync for 'constraints of time' or that it's just incredibly expensive to set up a live band stage - more so than any kind of pay they get to do the show. Really if the music shows want to invite bands on and have them in their show then they need to accommodate for them accordingly or just not have them on at all.

Maybe the production don't want to give them budget and time. Remember their instruments and mics need sound check that can be costly. They need professional to check that could probably take up to an hour or two. That's why most companies hire or create a dance group due to its popularity and profitability. They don't care about genuine music.
