One of the only reasons I even wanna be rich is to buy as many book as possible and have my own library at home. I’d be stuck at home almost all day, but I’ll be the happiest gal ever.
Ariadne is pronounced eh-ree-ad-nay! Also Leviathan Wakes (The Expanse series as a whole) is fan-tastic!! The audio books for it are also amazing. Thanks as always for giving me more books to put on my TBR haha~
I love how the amount of books you have by the end of the month is always a surprise haha. Totally get it though because you hauled so many exciting books! I just finished The Prison Healer so I'm excited to hear your thoughts on that!
I love The Expanse series so much! Both books and tv show. They have great characters and intriguing plot. I'm really looking forward to reading something by John Gwynne too.
I chose Ariadne for my BOTM pick. My add ons were Project Hail Mary and People We Meet on Vacation. I've also recently bought The Ones We Were Meant to Find, The Princess Saves Herself in This One, and The Secret of a Heart Note.
I love 💕 American Gods it’s my all time favourite book I’ve read it more then seven times I have three hard copies and an ebook and I have the audiobook on its way Awesome book haul Keep up the good work and happy reading.
I also got a copy of The Shadow of the Gods this month; I have a pre-order coming later for The Blacktongue Thief and in e-book territory I picked up The Goblin Emperor on a deal :-) Lots to look forward to!
I'm with you on the Greek myth retellings!! I picked up Song of Achilles after wanting it for a long time. I'm also very excited to start The House of Always (Jenn Lyons), Harrow the Ninth (Tamsyn Muir), and The Dictionary of Lost Words (Pip Williams). I love watching you because you have similar reading habits to me but different enough to expand my horizons a bit. Keep the videos coming!
Really like the sound of Things We Lost to the Water. Definitely want to read The Memory Police. It sounds wonderful. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on both! 🖤
You should read A Thousand Ships if you haven’t already. It’s a retelling of the Trojan War, and it’s aftermath, from the perspectives of the women involved in the story.
Hey Regan! I'm from Australia and we can't do book of the month. If you could put a time stamp in perhaps, so we can skip ahead, then that'd be rad. You don't have to of course, I can scrub through the video. But it saves me jumping around is all. XD Heck yeah to those sponsorships tho, whew!!
I just got Priory of the Orange Tree and the box sets of A Darker Shade of Magic, Daughters of Smoke and Bone, The Mortal Instruments, The Infernal Devices, Shadowhunters Short Story Collection,The Dark Artifices, and last but not least The Land of Stories set. Also The Gilded Wolves and Final Girl. Mother's Day, then my birthday Monday (and I lost my Mom recently) family and friends wanted to brighten my week, So I will be busy
I’m a classics major and it’s air-e-odd-nay. The original Greek Ἀριάδνη, does not translate to “knee.” The “knee” pronunciation is actually an American translation. If you were to pronounce it properly in Greek it would be with the “nay” ending.
Book 9 of 9 of The Expanse is published this year. And that's a wrap on the series. They're on to new things after that! I think Orbit has already signed them up for a new trilogy.
I wad to read Shadow of the Gods so badly, and that cover is STUNNING 😍 I think a great selling point (for me anyway) for the Shadow and the Fox series is that it reads like an anime, which is so much fun! I've heard the same about Will Wight's Cradle series and can't wait to pick that up
I've enjoyed the few books I've gotten from them. Only thing is that during the first month th with them, they don't tell you that they charge you twice. They charge you the 9.99 and then the 14.99. Knowing this now, I'll give them a second chance. How Lucky sounds amazing.
In the middle of watching another video, when this notification shows up 😍 also random, but what pan do you have that you said was really nice?? I recently started loving cooking over the last year and I need a new one!
Hey there, have you ever read the Discworld Series by Terry Pratchett? I’ve just started reading them and they are a comical fantasy I would say, I’m liking the series so far?
1. Ariadne 2. Things we lost in the water 3. Impostor Syndrome 4. How Lucky 5. The Last thing he told me 6. The Shadow of the Gods 7. American Gods 8. The memory police 9. Leviathan wakes 10. The hod king 11. The soul of the sword 12. The night of the dragon 13. The serpent's curse 14. The prison healer 15. Take me home tonight
I really enjoy your videos! And I really want to read The lucky one now! If you're interested in norse-inspired fantasy, I highly recomend one of my favorite books, "Odins child" by Siri Pettersen. It's huge in Norway, and many other countries, but it's just been translated to english, and I haven't seen it on booktube yet. So you should really check it out.
It’s a-ree-AD-nee. Funny that you describe it as one of the lesser known myths as I always considered the story of Theseus, Ariadne and the Minotaur one of the most famous ones... I’m really looking forward to the book (have you read Stephen Fry’s Greek myth books (mythos, heroes and Troy)? So good. Loved the video as always!! 💛
I might read ariadne if the library has it so jealous that you have shadow of the gods library still doesn't have it haven't read the prison healer yet but I will
You should check out Popisho by Leone Ross! The plot is literary fiction mostly, but it has a fantasy/magical realism setting with lots of magic on a chain of islands. It also takes place throughout one day with four POVs, I'm halfway through and it's great so far.
Is it true that book of the month doesn’t ship to Canada?? I’ve watched Canadian booktubers who get book of the month so I’m super confused and kind of upset that I can’t seem to get it in Canada?? Someone please explain 🙏🏻
Chinese tv drama main plot is about people revenge to get what they want. Assassin try to find way to the rooftop to kill the emperor servant from public market. Then, alliance become betrayal after he get what want from bad hat. The hero captive under emperor cage and his lover save him. They decide to go out of town to other kingdom. Then, along the way face some bandit try to kill them. Then, they defend themselves ,later, save by his master.
Don’t go into the memory police thinking it’s like George Orwell , I did and was kinda let down. However if you feel extreme emptiness while or after reading it, it’s normal haha.
I love your hauls I have just been binging them and idk if you’ve done this yet but if you did n underrated fantasy book video I would def appreciate it:))
Chinese tv drama main plot is about people revenge to get what they want. Assassin try to find way to the rooftop to kill the emperor servant from public market. Then, alliance become betrayal after he get what want from bad hat.
I can see why! At first I was confused as to how slowwww everything was happening. Even the climax was very slow but it was also such a refreshing change. The book was a lot deeper than I expected it to be. It was definitely tough to read because i was used to a faster pace, action, or having a resolution. But I think that was the point. Some people are just willing to conform to societal rules and bow their heads to go unnoticed.
I have been wanting to check out Ariadne but I want to wait for others to read it so I can prepare myself for a good cry if it is sad, a quick read if there is a lot of angst so on and so on.. So if anyone has read the book let me know what kind of book it was, I would really appreciate it.🤗
My problem on Goodreads is that all they say is that it is a Greek retelling or a book for Circe fans... I think I would’ve figured that out from the synopsis, thank you very much 😐. If there is a good review that you have read I would love to know. 😌
Just out of curiosity and not trying to bash book of the month... but has anyone else had trouble with their quality?? I started ordering off of book-tube recommendations but every single book I have gotten has fallen of its binding during the first read through. Im pretty disappointed cause the concept is really cool. But after six books with the same problem thought its too much of a coincidence to be just happening to me. I stop my account and thought it too hard to contact them so I just forgot about it but if no one else has had the same problem I might try another go at it... 🤷♀️
hi! i work in publishing dealing with this exact thing so i know what you're talking about. BOTM editions are proprietary, meaning they order a print run quantity of a book for a steep discount from the publisher. most likely they also downgrade some materials to make their $10 hardcover price still profitable for them, so the binding will not be as structurally sound as the trade edition of the book. quality wise it would make more sense for BOTM to do paperbacks, but hardcovers have more appeal for a subscription service. personally i prefer to see what their monthly picks are and buy the trade edition if i'm interested. :)
Okay that makes totally sense. I bought binding glue to fix them but I was just a little confused cause they seem to be so well liked. I don’t think Ive ever seen any negative comments on them. But now I think I’ll do the same in the future. Thanks for the reply:))
One of the only reasons I even wanna be rich is to buy as many book as possible and have my own library at home. I’d be stuck at home almost all day, but I’ll be the happiest gal ever.
I’m in that same wavelength including art studio as well
Same
Seeing regan buy an ungodly amount of books right before she moves is all the justification I needed to do the same
For the love of GAWD gurl, you are moving across the country!!
Yes, but books though
NOT THE HAND OVER MY HEART...this is gonna be a ride isnt it 😭😭😭
It was an accident! I swear!
Book of the month needs to have better descriptions! On the website they're all meh, but when Reagan talks about them I suddenly want all 5 lol
lol yeah its just to give a shorter summary of books
For real huh
I can’t wait to eventually see your new place in Austin and how you decorate/set up
The Expanse series (also the show!) is WONDERFUL. Fun fact: James S.A. Corey is a pen name used by two authors.
Can’t wait to watch you pack all this down and move it across the country, and set it back up again!👀❤️ absolutely love your videos💕
So glad you got The Memory Police - it's wonderful and SO multi-layered!
Ariadne is pronounced eh-ree-ad-nay! Also Leviathan Wakes (The Expanse series as a whole) is fan-tastic!! The audio books for it are also amazing. Thanks as always for giving me more books to put on my TBR haha~
You hauling a bunch of books with all those book piles behind you on the floor is such a mood 😂 good luck on moving all of those to texas
I only started watching the Expanse a few months ago, and I binged the whole thing so quickly. A very well done sci-fi show!
As soon as Ariadne came up I knew I was going to need to grab a pen and paper for this haul...ok in ready to add to my wishlist
Freaking saaaaaaaaaaaame and I just did my own huge haul but there's always more books to add!!
Speaking of moving with a lot of books.....do you think you could do a video on advice for moving books?
Hailey and you posting haul vids at the same time....
My confused soul- 🤯😵
RIP our wallets 😂
@@micheledarouni Yes! XD
Yes! They always post at the same time and they’re always similar videos! I love them 😂

The Shadow of the fox series has such beautiful covers! I have to buy them ASAP!
You are so good at describing/ selling these books. I want to pick up about three quarters of the books you talked about! 🙈
Honestly , i'm curious as hell that where do you put all these books like i just saw this two bookshelf behind you 😂
its honestly a disaster lol
I seriously look forward to your descriptions of the BOTM books every month to help me decide!
Your moving vlogs will be interesting to say the least xD
I love how the amount of books you have by the end of the month is always a surprise haha. Totally get it though because you hauled so many exciting books! I just finished The Prison Healer so I'm excited to hear your thoughts on that!
I need all of these books on my bookshelf immediately! 💫 Keep rising to be who you want to be! #keeprising #risingtobe #aswerise #riser

Great haul, Regan. Your excitement over the books makes me want to read them all. Blessings.
God Sometimes I just envy u ❤️. You've got towers of books. And exactly I love you. You really help me buying books.
I just picked up my copy of Shadow of the gods yesterday and I can't wait to dive into it!. Great haul Regan- I hope you enjoy the books.

i just got that edition of american gods too and am looking forward to digging in. what a great haul!
Shadow of the gods sounds do intriguing, and I just LOVE the cover!!
You are going to love the Expanse! It’s literally Game of Thrones in space but in the best way, plus the tv show is an incredible watch
I've been so interested in Ariadne! I can't wait to hear what you think of it! (Also, I think it's Air-e-ad-knee)
Yes you are right about the pronunciation of Ariadne. It’s like Hermione is pronounced Her-my-o-knee and Patroclus is Pat-row-c-less
I’m a classics major and it’s air-e-odd-nay. The original Greek Ἀριάδνη, does not translate to “knee.” The “knee” pronunciation is actually an American translation. If you were to pronounce it properly in Greek it would be with the “nay” ending.

Reading The Last Thing He Told Me right now. A lot of it is set in Austin/on UT’s campus. Might be fun for you to read as an alum!

How do you fit all your books in your apartment 😭
My parents almost named me Ariadne, but settled on Arianne as a compromise 🥲
I've read 2 of these! I *hated* The Memory Police. I legitimately don't think it's a good book. Leviathan Wakes was an easy 5/5 though.

I like all her video, since when people read 10 book and happen this way, read 10 book can happen without any interpretation.
