If you beat The Final-Final Test, even while using Yoshi or Nabbit, you have my respect. It took me hours to beat it, and I was so relieved when I finally got to the top of the flag pole.
One thing I forgot to mention about the game, was the soundtrack! Overall, while I wouldn't say it's one of the best of all time, it's certainly high-quality! I do feel that there should've been a bigger variety, since the main leitmotif got re-used quite often, and some levels could use more unique tunes, but on the whole, it also happens to hold some of my new favourite Mario themes! The Overworld, Athletic, Airship and Final Battle themes in particular stuck with me, with the Athletic theme especially replaying in my head...
I won't lie, the Drill Mushroom is my favorite powerup, even if it is underutilized. Just like a lot of other aspects from this game, it feels like it was made from ideas from Mario Maker. It's a mixture of the Spiney Helmet and Drybones shell. Frankly, I hope we get a third Mario Maker game eventually just so I can mess around with the mechanics of that powerup >:3 Edit: It is a crime that we only saw those sick looking Pirahnah Plants at the very beginning and never again. Would have been a sick secondary boss where you have to keep climbing to avoid them growing after you.
Great video! Please do ranking videos: wonder effects, worlds, new enemies, main levels...lots of fun stuff to rank! Also, I agree that the lack of boss in Shining Falls felt worse than Fungi Mines. Since Shining Falls is all about trials they should have made the final trial more epic in length and incorporate elements of the other trials. Kinda like "The final final challenge" but of course not as challenging as that! In Fungi Mines the ending is cute but they could have made that final transformation into a more complex labyrinth with multiple dead ends
I love Mario Wonder, and I would love a sequel but I'm really interested to where they go after this. What id love is something like Mario 63, where they take the 3d game's movements into 2D
I'm very impressed at how creative the levels and worlds were! Every single one of them was fantastic, even the ones that I didn't think I'd like as much, like Deep Magma Bog, Fungi Mines, and ESPECIALLY Fluff-Puff Peaks! Yeah, the Bog may be a generic lava world, but at least it's the best generic lava world in the series. The Drill Mushroom slander might honestly be the most offended I've been by any of your videos lmao. It'd honestly say the weakest in the game is the Fire Flower. I was so miffed when I saw that Shining Falls didn't have a boss lol. It's my favorite world for what it has but there's SO many missed opportunities that hurt it, so I think my favorite overall was Sunbaked Desert. Overall, this is easily the best 2D Mario game and might be even up there as one of the top 3 best Mario games in general! I don't know yet, I haven't decided whether I like it or Odyssey better. Honestly, besides the Bowser Jr. fights, I don't really think there's any negatives to this game, just places that could've been expanded a bit more.
Here is My Bosses for Super Mario Bros. Wonder- Pipe Rock Plateau Palace: Mega Fiery Piranha Plant Fluff-Puff Peaks Airship: Lakiblizzard Fluff-Puff Peaks Castle: Snowipokey Shining Falls Castle: Master Poplin Sunbaked Desert Castle: Boss Shova Petal Isles Airship: Giant Unagi Deep Magma Bog Airship: Commander Dry Bones Deep Magma Bog Castle: Giant Magmaargh that floods sometimes and spits fireballs Castle Bowser Phase 1: The Same as it was Castle Bowser Phase 2: Giant Challenging Castle Bowser
Super Mario bros Wonder was amazing. I think it was an excellent refresh for the 2D Mario franchise. It kind of made me think of Breath of the Wild, that bring the Zelda to the open world, but with a lack of dungeon. Mario wonder was wonderful, but the bosses are the only take. Can’t imagine what the Tears of the Kingdom of Mario wonder would look like.
I actually like that parallel, but tbf at least Zelda had really great dungeons at one stage. I love 2nd Mario, it's my 2nd favorite series of games (behind 3D Mario lol) but the bosses have never been great. Yoshi Island had really good bosses but i don't include it as mainline
Albert Boris you created a new meme I can’t wait to play this game! And yeah , I need to wait my birthday to play this game💀💀💀 So hyped to use the Drill Mushroom!!!
I love the game, but it has some pretty bad problems. 1. There's no great powerups from the past like the penguin suit, blue shell, or even the propeller suit. 2. The camera for multiplayer is very, very annoying. It should've been like the others where it pans out, the camera following a single player is so annoying. 3. why is the castle fights just Bowser Junior? Yeah, the Koopalings would've been annoying since we saw them so much, but this is not the solution. What happened to the unique bosses we got in the original New Super Mario Bros. Imagine what they could've done with unique bosses with the Wonder effect. I really do enjoy the game and think it's the best 2D Mario game, but it's definitely not perfect.
Tbh I,m suprised that they did not give Badge Marathon a 6-Star rating, since that would have been such a Nintendo thing to do plus true final levels are usually marginally harder then any other level in that game. (I actually made a 6 Star edit on my latest community post lamo.)
There’s going to be a whole generation that will learn the phrase “wowie zowie” from this game. I’ll always associate it with Putt-Putt, though. Solid review, Albert.
For me, the bosses are like Super Mario Party, their a step in the right direction but feel held back. While I do agree their not great, they are somewhat an improvement over the Koopalings and arguably even the final fight. Here are my reasons. 1. Jr. being a compromise: Everyone is tired of the Koopalings. You fought one, you basically fought them all, so having Jr. taking their place makes a lot of sense as that's what he basically is but technically not(plus this game took heavy inspiration off of Mario Maker 2). 2. You can't kill him as fast: Unlike the Koopalings, you can't instantly jump on him the moment the fight starts. Instead, he does his shell spin phase first and then you jump on him which gives him time to do his attacks. 3. The final boss: The fight may be easy, but what makes it work(Imo) is that its different from what we got before. There's no first phase where he's normal but then gets big. What you see is what you get( although I do wish they did more though.
To be fair, the bosses in general had been an issue in alot of Mario games. They go down pretty easy and they don't nearly put up as challenge as they could've. But what makes them passable is there abilities and the way they performer are pretty clever. So while the difficulty isn't that hard, the gimmicks of the bosses are clever.
I love this game to pieces, Idc that all the bosses are mostly copy and pasted it’s the best 2d mario ever my only grievance is that there’s 4 yoshis instead of just yknow 1 fused with colours but the rest is just filled with love care creativity and joy
There's no fight against Kamek, 0/10 !!! no, seriously, i was very suprised there was no Kamek bossfight bcuz Kamek appears several times in the game but most of the times, it's just to spawn an airship... Why?! As a Kamek fan, im disappointed!

The Talking Flowers are kinda cute ngl :3
It's good to see Nintendo put as much effort in 2D Mario as 3D Mario.
