I'm from Culiacan. You really see incredible things over there. Narco cemeteries, for example, but also their houses. They are these incredibly large structures in neighborhoods that contrast greatly with the poorer parts of the city.
A large part of my family lives in Mexico and I have visited many times, so many of these homes are incredibly impressive, like in movies, with a group of round the clock maids, a nanny when the family is in town and gardeners always keeping up the property. What is even more impressive is knowing that these homes are all paid for upfront before they’re even built. Mexico has so much wealth through its natural resources yet the government is so corrupt that each branch now works for their local cartel, the cartel even has the national guard on patrol to keep out the other cartels from their turf line all the while the average tourist thinks that the government is in control. In Mexico the cartels now own the government, it’s huge business for both and we fund it.

Please end the War on Drugs. Take the business out of them. Do as Portugal do, treat addictions as a medical problem. Legalize and regulate substances. Pacify nations, reduce criminality and take drug money out of politics.
I also agree with you but let's be honest as long as there money to be made in this business there is no ending to this .One dies two more drug lords emerge it's an ongoing cycle sad but very true my friend. If only we Hispanics could use are intelligence to make our country a better place instead for being known to have one of the world's largest drug trafficking organization's.

lex187 The "intelligence" will never come as long as drug politicians keep people under-educated on purpose. The USA must end the War on Drugs, to free the providers from the cartels. These countries must end it as well.
it's a safe place I was told it's so dangerous bla bla but I saw nothing I've gone there 4 times already and I already went to visit the cemetery I was amazed because it looks like a neighborhood lol
These cartels make millions people act like they are gonna waste their time stealing tourist petty 100$ there’s a better chance of you getting robbed by some kids unless you have over 1 MIL your are just a broke NPC to the cartel
This logic is flawed. It's not about carrying your money till you die it's about loving your craft. Wether it is legal like Bill Gates who enjoyed coding, running a business. Or el chapo who likes drugs and running a cartel. It's about the skillset of one's domain. Do you get it? It's not about money and afterlife.
Just finished watching the documentary on PBS called El Velador and those mausoleums are insane. They're as nice as houses for the living...not surprisingly.
one of the most dangerous places?? I go there personally every year and I consider it relatively safe. Yes big narcos live there but that's the reason why is safe compare to other parts in Mexico like in Michoacan or Tamaulipas. There's low abductions and small businesses can thrive whitout the fear of paying taxes to criminal organizations.
Exacly.. I was Born and raised in California i moved Out here to Culiacan 6 years ago my familys from Here and i love living here i would never move back to USA. Im raising my children here.
dyoung1844 "Allowed to go on"? What, you think the state should somehow criminalize even more actions (these ones) so they can have even more criminals to fight with? You think they should get their cops killed trying to arrest people for building tombs? And yes, in the drug crime capital of Mexico, you can be absolutely certain cops would get killed trying to enforce your moral indignation. The real crime here is that we have created these criminals by banning drugs. Were drugs legal, they would be provided by businesses every bit as legitimate as distilleries and cigarette companies. There would be no 'war on drugs' that literally kills tens of thousands of people every year and incarcerates and ruins the lives of literally millions of Americans. Drug addiction would be treated sanely as a medical problem instead of a legal problem. Instead we create billionaire criminal overlords and legions of millionaire enforcers, who terrorize innocent people the world over. All because the majority of Americans are too fucking ignorant to have a clue.
when you grow up in poverty around narco culture, it’s very hard to not be influenced and fall into the trap. it takes ironclad morals. you probably don’t know how that is like, having grown up in a suburban american city.
Imagine a rich son of a billionaire grows up a pampered life, looks at your life and laughs, saying you perpetuate poverty and laziness. That’s how you sound.
Imagine if all your earthly possessions net worth value was transferred into a post death prepaid debit card accepted in both heaven and hell. In St Peter Processing charges are extra.
I can’t I can’t see my self building that even if one of mine got caught up I just couldn’t it’s dead money I would give it to poor people so they could have decent funding for funerals getting caught in gun fire of drug cartels
Dangerous? I’m a 6’2 danish man and drove through there from the US to South America. No problems whatsoever! Respect the locals , be nice, don’t drive at night, DON’T Hit on the local girls ! And you’ll be fine . Love Mexico
I heard people move into these graveyards... They become isolated places because people migrate somewhere else... You can find a graveyard being a whole village of people.
The "omagies to a girl" is the wife of Chino Antrax, she was murderd in 2014. Him, sister, and his brother in law in a BMW X6 in Culiacan outskirts a year back... Such a beautiful women, what a waist!!!!

Yes, your command of English is worth complementing. As an American my Spanish is ok but I try my best.
My step-sister's mom is from Culiacancito and I've heard stories about the area that date back for 40+ years. It's gotta be a crazy place.

I agree with you completely. In fact, the travesty of jailing young "offenders" is the worst thing that could have ever happened to younger people.
