My english teacher, who is a jesuit, was talking about his life. A lot of people in my school would have the wrong perception about there, and we thought he would too. But he told us they were the nicest, friendliest people he had ever met. When he moved in, the neighbours came over, greeted him and told him tips about the flat.
The vast majority who lived in old Ballymun were very saddened they demolished the towers and flats the large roundabout ,If they had a choice they'd rather be in the Ballymun of the 60's-late 90's. When they tore all the flats and towers down then the shopping centre which had just about everything you could say Ballymun died
no mention of original Tennants being displaced after regeneration which is usually what happens as housing associations now days only put so many up for social rent and the rest are rent to buys and private sales!
the actual quality of the city council's estates in Ireland might be among the best in europe nowadays. Ballymoon blocks are crap. But the housing estates seems to be too good as lot of people working hard have to share flat with loads of people as they can;t afford a proper individual accomodation.

I was an apprentice working on the finishing touches to a pub owned by

Sooo many memories of family/friends.... Ballymun may change but one thing 4 sure is, you'll never change the people here!!
Because of Into the West I became curious about this place, glad to see that they've rebuilt it into a nice place, it really looks respectable now!
