"Good bye". They knew that SNK will end in 2000, and "Playmore" will start to make crap from the beginning of the XXI Century. But they left themes like this inmortal.
SNK stepped out for 2001 and 2002, letting a company in Korea make stuff. That is probably the "crap" you were referring to. They were bought out by Playmore in *2003* which was made up of *FORMER SNK EMPLOYEES.* If it weren't for Playmore being founded then SNK would have been gone. Get your facts straight before bashing a company for no good reason, especially one that WAS THE REASON SNK SURVIVED.
@@StreetwizeJJ2 SNK Playmore never was the same as the former SNK. There is no discussion about that. That's why they ended sadly making pachinko games and crappy stuff. I was living in Japan those years and I know what I'm talking about. It's you who must check your info.
@@asamiyashin444 Oh yes. Just blame them for not being able to make big profits off of the niche stuff we like. Fighting games aren't mainstream anymore. Let me be the first to remind you that despite all the praise 3rd Strike gets nowadays by people in the FGC, nobody gave a fuck about it when it came out. It didn't make enough money so Capcom stopped developing on the CPS3. SNK did what was necessary to survive. As far as quality goes, however, part of their mainstream appeal was Metal Slug, which they never fully could recapture. On the other hand, I have heard nothing but praise for KOF 11 and 13, which were 2005 and 2010. Let's not forget the updates to KOF 98 and 02 back in 2009 either. Despite all the great games they never made huge profits. Continuing like that would have landed them in the red again, which was why they went to pachinko machines until KOF XIV, which was their hail mary and would have stopped making video games entirely had it failed. Don't try to throw this back on me, especially because you didn't get what you wanted from them.
@@StreetwizeJJ2 "You criticize SNK because you didn't get what you wanted from them". Is that the way you debate? Inventing the other person's feelings? You try to reduce my critics to just a narcissistic rant. How fair of you. You are so unfair and dishonest that I doubt this is going to take us to anywhere. Saying "a lot of people praise it so it must be good" is the ad populum fallacy. And also putting "survival" as a pretended justification to turn a company into junk says a lot about your values. But the most laughable part is where you call "niche" to the original SNK games. Only a dude who was a baby or wasn't even born when I was playing Samurai Shodown I could say that kind of stupidity. I prefer thinking that, because if you are of my generation that means that your intelligence is too low.
