This just popped up in my recommended vids and it's a beauty, as are the settlements you've shown. Well done, fella. I only wish the campfire glitch was known at the time (unknown to me, at any rate). Would have made it sooo much easier. I used rug chains and the short ladders to suspend small floors to get the height right. Trial and error on how may rugs were needed to keep things from falling or jumping too far. I spent an embarrassing amount of time on it. And thank you for the shoutout and link. I'm thrilled I could inspire someone to build.
Oh wow, I'm so sorry I did not see this comment until now! Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Until I saw your video I was not sure this was even possible! I really appreciate you stopping by. :)
Refreshingly clean and well done tutorial. Clear speaking and stays to point. I can tell some of the influences from Skooled Zone in your presence. I fully agree on the part on many rugs creating different results. Also don't apologize for making fine adjustments in placing items. Anyone who's done building, Especially No Mods, Has some sort of pickiness to them. Some not much, But I've often spent 1/2 an hour trying to get 1 item to work or be placed right.
I love fireplaces in Fo4 and I love tutorials so this one is sure to "warm" my heart. 1:44 Weapon rack is a good choice for the screen. They are super snap happy and can be made to go almost anywhere. It also looks good. 6:27 If you knew how much time I spent repositioning things to get them lined up you'd think I was insane..... Oh, wait a second.... Seriously I've spent much much longer than that before. OTOH the most recent "rug glitch" tutorial I made shows a trick to get things nearly perfectly lined up every time. 14:25 You could likely also snap one of those wall/floor/roof pieces right over them too. Like a little add on storage room area. 14:35 lol Very well made tutorial. I hope you will make more in the future. There are a few techniques I would have done differently myself but it's always interesting to see how other people build. There are lots of ways to skin a cat and the finished result would be the same either way. The finished decorated fireplace looks really nice. The extra lighting helps a lot with the ambiance. I think you've probably seen the fireplaces I've made but I'll send you a link to the unlisted video just in case you haven't. I'll send it in a separate comment in case RUclips sends it to your spam folder. In both examples I used fire barrels to help with the wall shadows. In the first fireplace the barrel is completely under the floor (well tables and pictures actually) and it still shines on the left wall giving the illusion of shadows from the spark screen. Sorry I didn't see this earlier. I wish I would have.
@@BWTF_Ben The mole rat one was built after the other one. I guess I'm getting better with practice? I think yours looks very good. Mine are quite resource heavy and likely wouldn't work in a large settlement.
Oh man, really? I can glitch pillars inside my build structures by using a fireplace? I wish I knew about this long time ago... Gonna give it a try. If that still work that would be amazing. Thanks for that advice. Love the fireplace btw.
@@Chee6 I can't remember exactly what I used but I still did essentially what he did in the video except I the foundation he used to attach to the pole I used the basketball hoop.
lol When I built my first fireplace I actually glitched backwards metal signs into the fire area to protect the wooden bookcases I used to build the fireplace. Really a waste of the build size bar. I agree with you that Benson does a good job on his tutorials.
@@BWTF_Ben If you pull up the structures menu while in home plate, you can only build totems. The menus for the rest of the structures are just missing
@@nyxpsycho1021 Oh yes, absolutely. Part of the challenge in building in Home Plate is using what they allow you (without mods) and still making it look good. :) For instance, I wanted nice looking walls in the bedroom area so I glitched reversed bookcases in there to get the wood texture. :)
You pick a certain object, bring it near another. Then select it by pressing the action button (X on PS5) then press it again and hold. It should highlight the item nearest you and anything near it.
Love the no mods building. Nothing wrong with mods but with no mods, we can be on the same page. 👍🏼 peace brought 🕊
Very well done! You did a great job of giving step-by-step instructions and explaining why you were doing things the way you did.
Thank you kindly!
Yes. Awesome naration and camera work : )
You speak like a king....! Great channel, subbed last time.
Thank you! I really appreciate you watching and the kind words. :)
The fireplace glitch...nice.
Always learning.
Thank you for the post.
solid tutorial, time to remake all my fireplaces
So glad you enjoyed!

This is a really well done tutorial my friend.
Loved the fireplace design 👌

Nicely done.

I am currently struggling to get the metal cabinet on top. Trying this at home plate.
Sorry I missed this comment earlier. Were you able to do it?
Eventually I did yes.
@@B52BoomStick How? what did you use to glitch the metal cabinet?
@@Chee6 I can't remember exactly what I used but I still did essentially what he did in the video except I the foundation he used to attach to the pole I used the basketball hoop.
Sadly, the entire Finch family died in house fire because the sole survivor built them a fireplace out of WOOD. 😂
Great techniques though :)
lol

In home plate, you can't place walls, preventing you from placing the cabinet or weapon rack using the conduits
Hmmm...I'm unclear on what you mean? You are limited in what you can build for sure.

@@BWTF_Ben So how did you get it to go whenever you made your home plate video?
@@nyxpsycho1021 Apologies for being obtuse. Can you be more specific? Make what go?
tried doing this in creation kit, no chance I ever could find any fire flaming burning effect, only loaded standard fallout 4 esm with no dlc...
