  • Jason "Puck" Puckett, former KJR host and Bill Krueger, Root Sports, covers the recent performance of the Seattle Mariners, focusing on their offensive struggles and the need for improvements at the trade deadline. They discuss the lack of production from key players, the high number of strikeouts, and the need for a more professional approach at the plate. Overall, they believe the Mariners need to make incremental improvements and address their weaknesses to maintain their lead in the division.

Krueger is so refreshing to listen to. THank you for telling it like it is Bill. You played the game and have great knowledge on the flaws of this baseball team. It can be maddening to watch like PUck said.

Preach Krueger, however we saw what Dylan does playing everyday and it's not good. I agree with Puck we just don't have talent

    Great Vlog gentlemen !.
As a lifetime Mariners fan , I bet Houston to be leading the AL west at the break. It was +855 .I have a feeling if I don't win this bet ,it will be a half game lead

So true, we have an amazing pitching staff but we allow them to go 6 only lol.

When the M’s acquired Polanco, he had 18.2% strikeout rate across 832 games. He joined the M’s and had one of his worst strikeout rates in his career. The M’s have ruined a good ball player and the M’s are developing a bad reputation for batting for the last 3 years (Frazier, Winker, La Stella, Wong, Garver and Polanco). The common thread has been Jarrett DeHart, the M’s Director of Hitting Strategy over the last 2.5 seasons and 7 years in M’s org in hitting strategy. Jarret DeHart started from college at 22 years old for M’s and has never played professional baseball. His inexperience has to be questioned as well as his resume of work. I would trust Edgar Martinez over Jarret DeHart as a Director of Hitting strategy. Jarret had no answers for the offense for the last 2.5 seasons. It is telling when Teoscar Hernandez had a parting shot at the M’s without elaborating. I have no confidence that any acquired bats will fare any better under DeHart’s umbrella.

Why did you say the 2001 team was the worst? We won 116 games

I think he meant the 2011 team, but should of been corrected

At some point, could it be that all the numbers analytics philosophy bs is becoming a mind f*ck to these guys? Im genuinely curious if this is the case or are some of these guys just this bad?

Also, being a devils advocate, you can't overuse your bullpen for the stretch either

Mariners are going to lose first place. If they do make moves they will not be impact players. Pitching seems to be tailing off. I have zero faith in the team... The entire organization. Loser culture is too well established. If this was the seahawks everyone would have been fired a decade ago.

Delusional. Which Seahawks team were you watching? We just watched Pete Carroll roll out the same mediocre team for straight 10 seasons before getting fired.

@@kingfisher7360 you mean when they made the playoffs multiple times during those seasons? Yes... Clearly delusional. Also during that time coaches were fired. Yes those teams had problems but everyone was fired. So? Where is the delusion? You have a point but they had winning records during that time. Mariners just started winning and have done nothing to improve. They just fired the hitting coach. Scott never built up the equity Pete did by winning. In case you forgot Pete won a Superbowl. What has Scott won? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Garver, Polanco, France, Haniger are all dog shit and unless something drastic happens the Mariners aren't doing anything this season.

It’s so freaking refreshing hearing Krueger be honest. Just saying it like it is. I watched him post game many years ago and he and Brad would just sugar coat this piece of crap performance game after game.
