The work there is neat because it's the real engineers and contractors from overseas not the cartoons that building botched up sidewalks and cracked up roads

Great coverage. Not an island for sure. I think they eventually realized that the 'island' was a bad idea, and decided to make it a land reclamation, extending the land as you said. Whats all that grey empty tarmac for ??
@ianbynoe6515 My previous drone crashed landed. Had to get an upgrade. However, you are right. @dk230 mentioned a peninsula too. Thank you for always contributing to my videos

yes, not really an island anymore but i am sure that name will stay. i remember reading of an objection to the island being made ..the mangrove trees will die, looking healthy to me. later, they can plant mangrove trees north of the 'island'. why not try and seek permission to do your drone flights from the island itself
Would it not have been better to build this on the Georgetown side. How are all those shipping containers going to get to and from there?. The new bridge will be good but not that good.
Do you just love finding something negative to say? Why wouldn’t the bridge be good? Plus, that is private people spending their own money to build their own thing. So, they choose to build it where it is.
Good point....BUT Those containers are NOT going to GT. They contain stuff that gets put on ships and taken to the oil fields. Everything on 'the island' goes to the oilfields.
its a port ...especially built, big..deep..secured and convenient for ships servicing the oil fields. My initial argument was that they could have done that in Leguan which would have brought some economic activity and life back to that impoverished area. But then again, they had all that sand from dredging the mouth of the demerara river and they probably figured the island was the best way to utilize that material.

Hopefully they taking notes and watching so they learn too
Taking notes, learn? some can’t read properly, and corruption always seems to get in the way,it is what it is.

The stone work is a prevention to high water levels?
That’s not an island , you are right, but I must say great work.
What’s the black surface, is it ash-fall like you build the roads with?
asphalt
@ thank you so much!
I believe that it was explained as an artificial island made from land reclamation to connect with the mainland
🧐

Why they need an island when Guyana is eighty tree thousand square miles and seventy percent of that is uninhibited.
Waste of time and money.
