Sadly if released today it would get absolutely panned for all the racial slurs, sexism & blatant stereotyping. It would be categorized as a mean spirited wolf in the sheep clothing of an interesting subversion, being the black guy taking the starring role in a very white dominanted genre of films historically. And all this would show is how immature Hollywood has become as, in reality, it's just a fun family film lol
The timing of this movie was unfortunate when you consider The Matrix just came out at the time and also agreed that many of the humor and writing is something that would suit the taste of today’s generation
